Narcissism, Volume 1: Unmasking the Avatar (Biblically)

Rate this book
Narcissism is more than arrogance—it’s a full-scale counterfeit of godly character.

In Unmasking the Avatar (Biblically), Dr. Warren G. Lamb exposes the false persona—the “avatar”—that narcissists create and protect at all costs. Drawing from over thirty-five years of biblical counseling experience, he reveals how these master manipulators distort reality, weaponize relationships, and infiltrate families, churches, and ministries.

With clear biblical categories, practical tools, and a compassionate heart for the wounded, Dr. Lamb helps

Recognize the players in a narcissistic the Fool, the Co-signer, the Co-conspirator, and the suffering righteous

Understand the empire narcissists build and the enabling structures that protect them

Learn the tactics narcissists use to control others—and how to respond in truth and love

Find biblical hope and clarity in the aftermath of narcissistic abuse

Stand firm in Christ while protecting the vulnerable and confronting evil

Whether you are a survivor, a counselor, a church leader, or simply someone seeking to walk wisely, this book will equip you to see clearly, act courageously, and live faithfully.

You are not powerless. God’s Word provides the light you need to navigate the darkness, unmask deception, and pursue freedom—both for yourself and for those entrusted to your care.

I've been waiting for a book that writes on narcissism from a Biblical perspective. It is very thorough using case studies, Biblical definitions, and ways to avoid people who exhibit this destructive behavior. This book also offers hope to those who are convicted and truly want to stop living these sabotaging patterns.
