★★★★★ "Creepy Christmas. I must be a sucker for punishment. I am not a fan of scary stories, but this one hooked me in, and having dealt with my own version of pre-Christmas horror, I'm kinda liking the idea of an anti-Santa dishing out punishment for those on the naughty list." ★★★★★ "His darkness is awake in full garb, down to his bag of skins. Terror grips those who almost expect him. He is well explained in this horror short."
'Before the first child took a breath, he already existed. Not as a man or a beast, but as a shadow swirling around forgotten stars and in whispered legends. The ground trembled when he moved. He was unknown, yet remembered in bones—felt, sensed, feared. Long before angels or humans, whispers from the Supreme Being shaped him and his siblings. These whispers granted him strength, while fear fueled him. He slept deep beneath the ground, awaiting the return of snow and the glow of hearths, amid the scent of pine, raucous guilt, and tender snowflakes as they filled the air. As wrongdoing curled like smoke and nudged him, snow fell and lights flickered. He remained bound to all things—and beyond them. It was just before Christmas when he awoke from his long slumber. Once again, Krampus opened his eyes…' ***This release is a revised edition*** TRIGGER WARNING- Reader discretion is advised.
I'm a Turkish multi-genre indie author. I love writing tales swirling (or intertwined by) with elements of romance, passion, mystery, horror, and fantasy where falling in love with a different kind of hero is the only possibility...
This wasn't a very good scary Krampus book. In other books that I have read in the past, makes Krampus an opposite entity of the good Santa Claus. The writer of this book, has portrayed this hellish creature, who obviously looks like a male, to fall in love with a male Shifter. Taking him on for life and he does his duty during and around Christmas time with a male companion. Krampus does not take companions. His job is to punish the wicked children during christmas time.. This was garbage. never was i so excited to read this new Krampus book, to be be utterly disgusted with the way this writer portrayed this thrilling being.
When the Christmas spirit is lost, Krampus arrives to punish the wicked.
Lily Lamb's "Krampus" begins as visceral horror. The mythical beast's brutal punishments are rendered with unflinching detail. Then it pivots, rather unexpectedly, into romance territory. This is not my typical genre preference, and the tonal shift creates uneven pacing that may frustrate genre purists. But Lamb's writing proves competent, and her nightmarish depiction of folkloric justice makes an impression despite the romantic detour.
Loved it. Could have used more interaction between the characters. Felt like missed opportunities, but overall, I loved Krampus. He was sweet and kind, but trapped into a horrible job.
