This new edition also provides an insightful examination of the role of Buddhism in the modern world.
2004 wrote: Thorough; to the point. This is a book on the basics of the religion, described much like a High school text book might dexcribe Buddhism. With few insights from the author, or any devotees, figurheads or leaders of the religion, it's hard to say if this guide really teaches one Buddism.
A good introduction to Buddhism . Easy to understand explanations and interesting to read, not huge chunks of unbroken text which can be off putting. I found this book really useful in my quest to understand more about this ancient way of life.
