This is a short story mystery packed with suspense. From the outside Donnington is a typical small town, quaint and a great place to raise a family and go to church on Sunday. But there is more to this small town than meets the eye. There is a secret, a secret that's been kept for almost 100 years. A secret, that if unearthed, will shatter lives of trusted friends and colleagues, risk millions of dollars and surely lead to murder. Reed Wattson and his friends are about to unknowingly turn the town of Donnington upside down and put their lives in danger but who can be trusted to help save them or will they save themselves? Join Reed and his friends as they stumble down the rabbit hole, read Bootleggers today!
This a good YA mystery, though it leaves a lot of questions unanswered at the end. I also found it reads like an ARC, in need of editing and proofing, which caused some minor confusion, especially when Reed yells at his captors after his mouth has been taped.
Since this is the first in a series, I'm hoping those unanswered questions will be answered in the succeeding installments.
It's the summer after graduation, and a group of friends meet at a local hangout to celebrate before the winds of life blow them in different directions. 2 of them discover a cave, which leads to them uncovering a scandal involving corruption at every level in their small town. Although editing errors make it difficult to muddle through parts of the story, I'm still interested in It's continuation.
This story revolves around a couple teenagers that accidentally stumbled upon a cave used by bootleggers. They are in for a terrible surprise when they try to report their find to the authorities! Good story but definitely needs editing.
