No idea where this story takes place in the franchise, but I was able to sort of understand it nonetheless and it was cool!

Note: This is my first time getting into the Transformers IDW comics, it's really hard to get physical copies and as someone who hates reading online I was aware of the choice I made when I bought this comic alongside two others. I regret not buying Spotlight: Blurr that day too😔

This spotlight was okay. I've never found myself to care about Cliffjumper but by the end of this comic I had a new outlook on him (slightly higher than neutral but he still isn't very interesting to me).

The only reason I am ranking it so low is because I hate transformers media that is focused on organics. Like I am reading transformers for the transformers. I really don't care about the humans or humanoid race they are hanging out with. I don't need to see them interact with people to be able to view cybertronians as sapient. Beyond that, the art of the transformers was good but the humanoids looked straight out of a how to draw manga book which was completely taking me out of the story.

Besides those completely opinionated stances I thought the ending was strange. It ends on a "but we found these humanoids a new family to live with so its okay!" ending. Even though we never see another one of these humanoids the entire story. It also begs to question why were these two children (? I got the impression one was a teen the other a small child) living by themselves anyway if there was an option to just move in with another family. It just can out of nowhere and was very strange to me.

(Read collected edition).

An exciting story, but one that feels like a bit of a pointless exercise. If you put the Transformers in a setting where the inhabitants abhor any type of violence in any context whatsoever, then of course they're going to feel betrayed when they see the effects of the Autobot-Decepticon war. Nonetheless, a good introduction to this version of Cliffjumper.

A Great Read

I wasn't planning to buy this. I mean, Cliffjumper? Who cares? But boy, was I wrong! I really enjoyed this story a lot. Great artwork, somewhat anime-style, in an early Cybertronian setting. It's different, and good!
