Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Love Struck is messy, dramatic, and completely impossible to look away from — like watching a train wreck in slow motion.

As a healthcare worker, I’ll admit I had to seriously suspend my disbelief to enjoy this story. The HIPAA violations, the obvious boundary crossing with a patient, the hospital flirting, and especially the decision to cover for a fiancé who fled the scene of a serious accident after drinking and driving… it was a lot. If you work in healthcare, you may find yourself mentally screaming. I definitely had to remind myself this is fiction and lean into the drama.

That said, the writing itself flowed well and felt evenly paced. The story kept my attention, and I genuinely wanted to see how everything would unfold. The drama is nonstop, and the rate at which Charlie digs herself deeper and deeper into chaos is almost impressive.

Charlie and Henry’s infatuation happens quickly — almost instantly on her end. Henry falling fast felt slightly more believable considering she saved his life, but it’s still very much an insta-connection romance. If you’re not a fan of that trope, this may test you.

One element I actually loved was getting Aiden’s POV. That was such an interesting choice. Authors don’t often give the “other man” that kind of narrative space, and it immediately made me dislike him even more — which I suspect was entirely the point. Seeing inside his head added another layer to the drama.

I did feel slightly cheated by the ending. It left a lot up to interpretation, and I personally wanted more closure. I was glad there were at least some consequences for Charlie and Aiden’s choices, because without that, the story would have felt even more chaotic.

At its core, Love Struck is about three very young adults making impulsive, reckless decisions and dealing (sometimes poorly) with the fallout. It’s dramatic, morally messy, and compulsively readable — even when you’re frustrated.

If you enjoy high-drama romance with flawed characters and questionable decisions, this one will definitely keep you turning pages.

3,5 ⭐Love Struck begins with a tragic accident: Charlie and her fiancé Aiden hit a man with their car after a night out and lie to the police about what really happened. The injured man, Henry, is later admitted to the hospital where Charlie works as a nurse. As she cares for him, a connection slowly forms - creating a powerful and uncomfortable moral dilemma: how can you fall in love with someone whose pain you helped cause?

I found this story emotional and quite different from other romances I’ve read. The beginning was especially strong, filled with tension, guilt, and the feeling of a forbidden attraction. I also liked that the story is told from multiple points of view, which helped me understand the characters better. However, I didn’t fully feel the emotional connection between Charlie and Henry. For my taste, their relationship developed too quickly, and the characters themselves could have been more deeply explored. I had similar feelings about Charlie and Aiden’s relationship — I wanted more insight into why it truly fell apart, beyond simply “she wasn’t happy anymore.”

One thing that disappointed me was the mystery of why Henry was running down the dark street instead of the safer path. It felt like it was meant to be important, but it never really led anywhere.

That said, I appreciated that no one was turned into a true villain. The ending was open and hopeful, suggesting forgiveness and second chances, which I found fitting for the story’s themes.
Overall, I enjoyed this book. As a debut novel, it has a strong and original premise, even if the execution could have been more developed in places.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

I was absolutely hooked on this one. It’s the perfect binge-in-a-day read — and yes, guilty, I absolutely did that.

The characters are so lovable and easy to get invested in, and honestly… don’t we all collectively hate Aiden?? The conflict felt really real and had me fully emotionally involved. I was rooting so hard for Charlie and Henry the whole way through.

Aiden though 😤
He is absolutely an arse and the fact he pretty much got through scot-free is just not on. I needed way more accountability there because that imbalance was so frustrating.

And that ending?? Genuinely heartbreaking. It left me sitting there staring into space like 🧍‍♀️😭

Charlie has a big problem on her hands, and it keeps getting bigger. Her fiance Aiden is the root of this problem. After leaving a bar together, Aiden insists he's sober enough to drive home. They've almost made it when he hits a jogger. Charlie, an RN, springs into action; but Aiden convinces her that their only option is to cover up their involvement in the accident. When Charlie returns to work, she is shocked to learn that the victim is her newest patient... but as they get to know one another, an unexpected bond forms, and Charlie is forced to make choices she never imagined having to make.

This was a hard book for me to rate. It was well written, the characters were well-developed (considering the length of the book), the romance was genuine, and the alternating points of view gave the reader a well-rounded viewpoint. That said, I've known the horrors drunk driving can cause since I was a little girl. I knew the bare-bones of the plot from reading the blurb, but the book simply wasn't what I thought it would be. I hated Aiden, but I wasn't a fan of Charlie either. My heart broke for Henry (the victim). I honestly fear this book trivialized drunk driving; and I'm worried that some readers will finish Love Struck with the notion that the consequences of drunk driving are not great.

I had expected a to read an entirely different story. In an effort to avoid spoilers, I will not specify what I thought the story would be; but had I known where the story would actually go, I probably wouldn't have started it. Again, it's not a bad book... I'm just not the right audience for this book. This one is a Reader's Choice. If you have personal experience with drunk driving casualties or a very strong sense of justice, Love Struck may not be the book for you. If you're able to set aside your personal views and identify with flawed main characters who make some stupid, reckless decisions, you might be this book's target audience. It's actually a gripping read, but I was too frustrated with the characters and the lack of accountability to enjoy the read.

Note: I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and am leaving this honest review voluntarily.

Love Struck is a story told from three POVs of people involved in a hit and run accident: Aiden, who was driving the car, Charlie, his fiancee who was in the passenger seat, and Henry, who was hit. It all transpires with Aiden getting behind the wheel when he was clearly too intoxicated to drive, and Charlie letting him to avoid a fight, even though she knew it was a bad idea. After hitting Henry, Aiden's first thought is self preservation- he drives away and hides the evidence (the car). Charlie's immediate first thought is checking on Henry- she stays with him and calls in to report the accident.

Wrecked with guilt, it just gets even worse for Charlie when Henry is admitted into her hospital for his recovery. She's a nurse and is also assigned to his room and because all Henry knows is that she saved him, he's so appreciative to her to the point where the two strike up a friendship. It quickly gets even more complicated when the two start to have feelings for one another. But with so many secrets, can anything actually happen? And can Aiden and Charlie get away with what they did?

Though all three have chapters in this book, I'd argue that Charlie was the actual main character. We get more of her POV than the two men, and her character is the one you feel most invested in, because she's the one we spend the most time with. Aiden feels a lot more one note, and I don't think he gets much character development at all until the very, very end. Henry was fine, he was very sweet and basically the perfect man but I feel like his character could have also used more depth. We don't really get to know much about him apart from the facts that his mom is a writer, his sister lives in London, and he's a teacher.

All that being said, this book kept my attention the entire way through. It played out in my head a bit like an episode of television (you know, those anthology ones that focus on one crime per episode), and I was most interested to see how the story would end. Really solid debut for Ally Bloom!

Thank you to Azala Romance and NetGalley for the ARC.

I really wanted to love this one because the premise had so much potential. Morally grey characters, complicated decisions, and a story built around a life-changing accident? That setup had me very curious.

But unfortunately, this one didn’t fully land for me.

Aiden was probably the most frustrating character for me. He constantly shifts blame onto everyone around him and rarely takes accountability for his actions. By the end, I kept waiting for meaningful consequences or growth, but it never quite came.

Charlie, our main character, spends a lot of the story caught in a cycle of guilt and victimhood. I appreciated that she eventually tries to come clean and take responsibility with Henry, but the resolution between them felt a little too neat and polished after everything that happened.

Henry is honestly the only character who feels genuinely innocent in the situation—the victim of the hit-and-run—but even then, he allows his sister to make many of the moral decisions for him, which made his arc feel less fully explored.

What disappointed me most is that the story had a powerful opportunity to explore the real-life impact of drunk driving and hit-and-runs. It could have highlighted the ripple effects on victims and families in a deeper way, but the narrative ultimately sidestepped the weight of those consequences.

Overall, this was a story with a really strong premise and complex character potential, but I wish the emotional and moral stakes had been pushed further.

2.5 stars.

Thank you to Netgalley and Victory Editing for an advanced reader copy of Love Struck (publishing March 3, 2026).

So, I’ll preface this by saying I didn’t think this was a *bad* book. I actually found the storyline and characters intriguing. I just wanted…more. The story feels unfinished.

Insta like/lust/love is not my jam, so characters making decisions based on “feelings” for other characters when they’ve known them for 2 business days make it difficult to suspend reality. I think the story could have benefited from giving us a more in depth exploration of the characters, their personalities, their wants/dreams/aspirations, and the things that make them who they are. We literally know nothing about Aiden, Charlie, or Henry outside of the very surface level stuff.

The story itself is a very interesting one, but I just don’t think it was fleshed out in all the ways it could have been to take it from ‘just okay’ to ‘good’ or even ‘great’. The ending made my eye twitch 😭 All in all, I enjoyed some parts but I mostly felt very indifferent. I just needed a little more to get invested emotionally.

This was a good read! It switches between 3 POVs: Charlie, Aiden, and Henry. Charlie and Aiden are engaged. After being out drinking one night, Aiden gets behind the wheel to drive home and hits Henry. Charlie, a night nurse, ends up having Henry as one of her patients.

I absolutely despised Aiden's character. When you read the book, you'll find out why. He was very childish and didnt want to do anything, making Charlie clean up after his messes. He was a necessary evil in this book though, as without him, there would be no plot. I also wasn't a fan of Charlie. She never put up much of a fight with Aiden out of fear of losing him, which led to her getting in BIG trouble. Also, she lied to Henry for almost the entire book, and he did not deserve that. I have no notes about Henry. He was a perfect character who deserved better.

I highly recommend this book. My only note is that the book didnt feel complete based on the way it ended.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in return for an honest review

3.5 🌟 This is far from your typical romance novel, the blurb hooked me immediately. Charlie and her fiancé attempt to cover up a hit-and-run after a drunken night out, and the story truly takes hold when Charlie, who works at the hospital, becomes close to the victim. As her guilt grows, so does the tension, and she struggles to keep such a devastating secret.

It’s a romance with a dark twist, and I ended up reading it in a single sitting. The writing style is engaging and the plot is well paced, keeping me invested and eager to see how everything would unfold.

That said, not everything felt entirely believable. Charlie’s behaviour as a nurse, particularly early on, felt unrealistic at times, and the romance leaned a little too heavily into insta-love for my taste.

I also would have liked more closure at the end, as the conclusion felt quite open-ended.

Overall, though, I enjoyed the cast of characters. They felt relatable, flawed people making poor decisions and dealing with the consequences of their actions.

From the start, this book pulls you into a world where a reckless decision shatters the illusion of a perfect life. This book is about love and ambition that explore guilt, loyalty and moral reckoning as the story progress.

Charlie is a loyal FMC where she has to choose between protecting the person she loves or confronting the truth and guilt she feels. It examines her internal struggle with the unbearable weight of keeping secrets and protecting the person you love.

What makes this novel especially powerful is its moral complexity. There are no easy answers, no simple villains. Instead, readers are forced to confront uncomfortable questions: How far would you go to protect the life you’ve built? At what point does love become complicity? Emotionally layered, and impossible to put down, this story lingers long after the final page. It’s a haunting reminder that sometimes the most dangerous secrets are the ones we convince ourselves are justified.

A unique concept with strong momentum

This story hooked me from the very first chapter. The plot is intriguing, and the fast pace made it a quick read. The forward momentum kept me turning the pages to see what would happen next.

However, I found myself wanting more depth throughout. I would have loved additional background, richer character development, and a deeper exploration of the relationships. While the pacing made it easy to read, it also made some elements feel underdeveloped. By the end, the conclusion felt a bit abrupt and slightly unfinished.

Overall, this was an enjoyable read with a creative concept, even if it didn’t fully deliver on its potential for me. Realistic? Not entirely, but fiction doesn’t always need to be. Readers who enjoy fast-paced stories with unique setups may find this one worth picking up.

Thank you to NetGalley and Ally Bloom for the opportunity to read the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you Netgalley !

I absolutely loved this book! I really connected with Charlie and how she had such a real, human reaction to everything. It’s so easy to think you know what you would do in that situation, but you never truly know if you’d be brave enough to tell the person you’re falling for the full truth.

I also loved getting multiple POVs—it was so refreshing and added so much depth to the story. And honestly, I really liked the ending, i feel like it gave us, as readers, the chance to stay true to our own feelings with what happens next. It allowed us to create our own narrative, which I thought was a beautiful touch.

Overall, it was a great read! I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a romance or even as a gift. I can’t wait to read more of her books! I actually pre-ordered so I could also own it lol!

Love Struck was such a lovely surprise! From the very first chapter I was completely hooked and honestly didn’t want to put it down. Ally Bloom’s writing style is smooth and engaging. I really enjoyed the multiple POVs, they added extra perspective to the story.

That said, not everything felt entirely believable at times and I did miss a bit more buildup when it came to the romance. I wanted just a little more tension and development before everything unfolded. The ending was quite open-ended, which I partly enjoyed but I can’t deny that I would have loved a few more pages to stay in this world a bit longer.

Even so, I genuinely enjoyed this book and I’m looking forward to reading more by Ally Bloom! 3,5 ⭐️

I was totally hooked on this one! 😍 Perfect for a binge-in-a-day read (yes, guilty, I did that).
Charlie and Henry had me so invested—lovable characters, real stakes, and that slow-burn tension that keeps you flipping pages. Aiden… what a nightmare 😤 I needed so much more accountability there.
The ending left me sitting there like 🧍‍♀️😭 — heartbreaking and intense. Dark romance vibes with a twist I didn’t see coming.
Some parts felt a little insta-love-y, and a few choices were tough to fully believe, but the characters felt real and relatable. Flawed people, messy decisions, big consequences—definitely a story that sticks with you.
Tropes: dark romance • slow burn • moral dilemmas • flawed characters

This book wasn’t for me. It was easy to read, and though the premise is taboo/not really ethical, it actually wasn’t a problem for me. There were just too many other things that didn’t make sense. The vast majority of this book takes place over just under two weeks, which was way too fast in my opinion. There were also several continuity errors that I hope will be corrected. Most annoyingly, though, I didn’t like (or understand) why we got chapters from Aiden’s perspective, and other even less important characters too. They didn’t really add anything for me, and pulled me away from the main story.

I received an ARC Of Love Struck by Ally Bloom thanks to the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this story but it ended really abruptly. To the point where I am wondering if I did not get the full book. I enjoyed it and am hoping for a more complete resolution. Technically the main plot is resolved but the relationship dynamics were not and the relationships were what kept me so engaged in the story. I enjoyed the multiple POVs, more than just the love interests. I would recommend this book but I am hesitant because of the lack of resolution. Another 5-10 pages could have wrapped it up with a good bow, although 50 would have made it feel complete.

This was a good book and the story line was really interesting to say to lease. I’m glad the person that had got injured had made a full recovery but it was so sad to read that he was falling for someone that had hurt him in some type of way. I’m glad she told the truth finally about what really had happen that night and I get the pain she was feeling about the situation. I’m glad the other person didn’t get away with the whole crime either. But I’m glad that she end thing with him like he did not treat her right at all in my own personal opinion.

I really wanted to connect with this one, but it just didn’t pull me in. Even though the story is told from multiple points of view, I never felt fully invested in the characters. Charlie’s passivity was frustrating, Aiden came off as selfish and narcissistic, and while Henry was kind, he felt a bit clueless.

It was a quick, simple read, but the writing and storyline felt somewhat juvenile to me. The open-ended conclusion also left me wanting more closure.

What starts as a shocking situation turns into a deeply emotional story about guilt, accountability, and falling in love under the most complicated circumstances. I loved how messy and real the characters felt, between their actions and emotions, it felt like you were stepping into the pages! The romance was built up throughout the plot and written in a way to capture your attention from the start! If you’re into emotionally layered love stories with real stakes, Love Struck is absolutely worth the read!

First off thank you NetGalley and the publisher for this advanced readers copy!

This book had me hooked from the beginning. Having a big main story event happen right off the bat had me staying up reading this book. Small little moments throughout had me holding my breath of what was gonna happen next. The ending however to me was a little underwhelming. I didn’t have anything specific in mind but I was sad nothing more exciting happened.

If I could give this book ten stars, I absolutely would! I fell completely in love with both the characters and the storyline. Charlie and Henry quickly became favorites of mine, and their journey kept me hooked from start to finish. This story had me laughing, gasping, and saying “aww” more times than I can count. The emotional tension, the moral dilemma, and the way the relationship develops made it impossible to put down. And that ending?! An unforgettable read.

🫣 unfortunately this was really a book I should’ve DNF’d. It just wasn’t for me, I actually enjoyed the writing (although it read a little YA for me personally and lacked maturity) so I’d be willing to read another book by the author with a different plot. But the cheating, the insta love, the toxic ex and her putting up with those behaviours, not to mention after that entire mess for it to not even be a HEA and old mate didn’t even get charged. I just cannot, it wasn’t for me.

2.5* rounded up for Goodreads.

The story was actually interesting and I devoured it. The reason I rated this so low is because of the lack of detail and character growth. This could have been done so much better if we got to know the characters more deeply.
