A comprehensive guidebook to the Old Testament that will give any reader a better understanding and appreciation of that sometimes mysterious and complicated part of the Bible. Its aim is to help introduce the reader to each of the 46 books of the Old Testament, including the Deuterocanonical writings.
I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn more about the Old Testament and understand it better, whether or not they are studying it for college credit like I was. The author devotes a chapter to each book (or two or three related books) and helps the reader understand each book from its original historical perspective, its relationship to the New Testament, and what it means for us today.
