Heatfall

The frost never stops moving. Stay too long, and it will take you too.

In the ruins of a world where summer lasts only nine fleeting days, survival means chasing the sun. Caravans—massive, steel-clad convoys—race the shifting line of warmth, bound by the Nine-Day move on, or be buried in ice.

Tessa, Lead of the Crimson Wake, has built her people’s survival on discipline and sacrifice. Cael, her former lover and rival, leads the daring Cinderpath with instinct and risk. When an encrypted signal from a forgotten weather station promises the unthinkable—a way to extend Heatfall—they are forced into an uneasy alliance.

But the journey drags them deep into frostfront territory, where frozen ruins hide more than ghosts, and the land itself seems hungry to consume the living. Every mile forward reveals harsher about the world, about their caravans, and about each other.

To seize summer, someone must pay winter’s price.

Perfect for fans of Station Eleven, The Road, and Snowpiercer, Heatfall is a post-apocalyptic survival mystery of love, betrayal, and the dangerous hope that warmth can last forever.

Myunique C. Green's Heatfall is an amazing adventure in a future world where frost rules and caravans are constantly in movement to keep ahead of the frostfront which silently creeps up on them and dangerous creatures known as frostbeasts which can devastate everything in sight. Two caravans--The Crimson Wake Caravan and The Cinderpath Caravan, led by former companions, Tessa and Cael--meet up to join forces to try to find a long lost weather station that can help them and their people overcome the constant escape from the frostfront and the Nine Day Law, in which the warmth of summer lasts for only nine days, the seasons of the past long gone. But there is plenty of conflict both in the leaders of each group's strategies and styles (as well as frozen feelings in Tessa at how Cael abandoned her in the past).

The book is full of tension, adventure, and a colorful cast of characters, sure to keep you turning the pages to follow the journey of the two groups as they seek to survive in the harsh conditions they seek to escape, and make their worlds a little better for all. Before you read though, put on a sweater. You will feel the frost in most every page of this wonderfully written book.
