Jaxon Clémont knows who I am. Why else would a monster leave petals like breadcrumbs? Send love letters straight from Hell? He’s stalking me, taunting me, chasing me into the darkness. He knows where I sleep, eat, and even where I live. He’s a brilliant surgeon and a billionaire, untouchable in every way, with a soul-sucking gaze and a predatory smile. And he knows my deep, dark secret.
But I won’t go softly into the night.
Jaxon might be my weakness with a beautiful face and a divine mission—who can cut my heart open with just one look and rip me apart with only a word—but I’m not another of his victims.
I won’t fall for his deviant charms.
I’m the real Ripper, and I’m going to make him pay.
Mallory Fox is a USA Today best-selling author who loves to write deliciously dark romance with heart and stories that have wicked, twisty plots, tainted-love, and all kinds of angsty redemption.
Mallory is addicted to canines, chocolate-covered pretzels, and lives in London with her bean-shaped dog and the rest of her non-furry family.
From Hell is a dark psychological thriller that had me utterly addicted.
Laine narrowly escaped death from “The Ripper”. Haunted by her experience, and the stalker who won’t let her live in peace, she’s become a morally gray serial unaliver seeking revenge on those who have wronged her.
When Jaxon Clémont shows back up in town, he appears to be everywhere she is. Stalking and taunting her while chasing her further into the darkness.
Laine and Jaxon together were a toxic explosion. The chemistry, the secrets, the psychological game of cat and mouse. The duet audio narration by Shane East and Evelyn Rose just added to the thrill of the chase.
This book was dark, twisted, unhinged, and not for the faint of heart. The enemies to lovers, tension and chemistry between these two were 🔥💥. Mallory did a really great job of executing these tropes and the narrators really brought it home with their narration. I honestly couldn’t get enough of the chase, the revenge that while gory was also utterly satisfying to see Laine be the absolute badd ass she was. Laine and Jaxon really brought out the darkness in each other but also fully accepted each other’s darkness.
Shane East narrating Jaxon I was done from the first moment he spoke. The way he could capture his darkness, his crazy, his brutality while also making him utterly undeniably sexy is criminal. I hung on his every word waiting to see what was next.
If you are wanting a fast paced, dark romance with cat and mouse, revenge, forbidden love, enemies to lovers and billionaire vibes but also not afraid of dark elements look no further. The audio narration was perfect, the book itself compelling and enthralling and an overall great listen.
Thank you to Mallory Fox and Valentine PR for the opportunity to receive an alc of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.
This book is dark and twisted. While it’s not heavy on the spice, there are some scenes sprinkled in, and the tension between the characters more than makes up for it. Both leads are deliciously morally grey.
Definitely check the tropes and trigger warnings before diving in as this read won’t be for everyone, but if you enjoy gritty, dark romance with blurred moral lines, it’s worth picking up.
🖤 Dark Romance 💰 Billionaire Hero 🔪 Serial Killer Vibes 🔥 Enemies to Lovers 🕵️♀️ Cat and Mouse 💌 Obsession 💣 Psychological Thriller
Star: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Narrator: Evelyn Rose | Shane East
From Hell by Mallory Fox is a dark, twisted, and utterly addictive start to the Villainous Delights series. This book is not for the faint of heart- it’s a psychological game of obsession, power, and vengeance wrapped in a romance that feels as dangerous as it is intoxicating.
The story follows Laine, a woman with a chilling secret: she’s the real Ripper. When Jaxon Clémont, a brilliant surgeon and billionaire with a predatory charm, enters her life, everything spirals into a deadly game of cat and mouse. Jaxon knows who she is - or at least suspects - and he’s not afraid to taunt her with cryptic messages, petals like breadcrumbs, and letters straight from hell. The tension between them is electric, laced with danger and desire, and every interaction feels like a battle for dominance.
What makes this book stand out is how unapologetically dark it is. Laine isn’t your typical heroine - she’s morally gray, sharp, and refuses to be a victim. Jaxon, on the other hand, is the perfect antihero: magnetic, ruthless, and terrifyingly intelligent. Their chemistry is explosive, but it’s built on a foundation of secrets, lies, and blood. This isn’t a love story in the traditional sense - it’s a descent into obsession, where love and violence blur until you can’t tell them apart.
The writing is sharp and atmospheric, pulling you into a world where every glance feels like a threat and every kiss could be fatal. The pacing is relentless, and the psychological tension never lets up. Mallory Fox doesn’t shy away from graphic, disturbing elements, so readers should check the trigger warnings before diving in.
If you’re looking for a dark billionaire romance with serial killer vibes, enemies-to-lovers tension, and a heroine who’s as dangerous as the man hunting her, From Hell will grip you from the first page and refuse to let go. It’s bold, brutal, and absolutely unforgettable.

✨ALC Review ✨Narrators: Evelyn Rose & Shane East
This is a dark, twisted, unhinged but hella fun read! This is dark and those wanting to read should check the triggers to this before reading as it isn’t for the fate of heart. This is a psychological game involving obsession and revenge. The FMC is a freaking baddy, and runs on rage. I loved the whole cat and mouse chase between the FMC and MMC and the tension was undesirable. The push and pull between them was deliciously hot and there was so much chemistry between them that you could feel the heat.
It was addictive and gripping when your at the edge of your seat wanting more with a great deal of violence and vengeance with good reason. There is no holding back here and I loved that. The enemies to lovers was done well and was a flame you couldn’t put out. This pulled me in from page one and the audio was absolutely amazing that I felt like I was there with the characters.
This book had me hooked from the very beginning. The tension between Jaxon and Laine was so intense, and every chapter kept me on edge wondering who was really in control. Jaxon is dark, dangerous, and completely obsessive in the best (and worst) ways, while Laine isn’t the type to back down—she gives just as good as she gets.
The audiobook made the whole experience even better. Shane West brought Jaxon’s predatory charm to life perfectly, and Evelyn Rose nailed Laine’s sharp wit and strength. Their voices made the chemistry between these two feel even more unhinged and addictive.
I loved the twisted obsession and psychological thriller vibes, I’m definitely still processing. Yeah, I need the next book ASAP.
If you love your romance on the darker side—billionaire antiheroes, obsession, enemies-to-lovers heat, and a good dose of psychological suspense—this one’s for you.
What do you get if you cross a Jack the Ripper retelling in a modern day setting? You get Shane East whispering dark and filthy things into your ears. Something about his voice in a dark romance just gives you shivers down your spine.
It's a wild journey, keeping you on your toes switching between past and present trying to figure out who's who and what the heck is going on. Laine could have cracked under the pressure of her past but pulled up her big girl panties and became a total boss. Jaxon is smooth, dangerous and 100% obsessed.
A sucker for an accent, this duet narrated audiobook was fantastic! Evelyn Rose and Shane East did an amazing job.
Thankyou Mallory Fox and Valentine PR for the ALC in exchange of an honest review.
This audio was delicious! The entire story was such as crazy experience! I absolutely loved it and couldn’t get enough of it! The entire story had me on the edge of my seat! This book has some very dark aspects. And it is definitely a darker romance but it’s so good. This would be perfect for anyone who loved I Kill Killers but wanted it to have romance like Butcher and Blackbird. Then there is an added friendship aspect that your routing for also! I am not typically a dark romance reader but I am a sucker for a good revenge story! This book gave me everything I needed and then some! The audio is done so well, especially the male voice. 🤤
Laine has secrets, some dark. She found herself in the wrong place at the wrong time & almost paid with her life... The Ripper left her scarred. He's been looking for the little bird who got away. Jaxon returns and reunites with Laine at the hospital he works in. Pleased to see her again, he finds himself "keeping an eye" on her. He's keeping her safe since he can't keep his eyes off his fiesty little fox. He will protect what is his! Though he fails to realize his little fox has teeth... and will bite. She was once a victim, but no longer. Loved it and highly recommend it! Superb Narration by Evelyn Rose & Shane East!
From Hell by Mallory Fox is dark, twisted, and seriously addictive. Laine has a huge secret. She’s the real Ripper. When billionaire surgeon Jaxon Clémont starts poking around, everything becomes a dangerous game of cat and mouse.
Laine is sharp and completely unapologetic, and Jaxon is the kind of magnetic, dangerous antihero you can’t look away from. Their chemistry is intense and a little scary in the best way. The writing maintains high tension, but some of the graphic content may not be suitable for everyone.
I will say the slow burn was a little too slow for me, but once it hit, it was hot!
Quite a twisted tale. I was not quite expecting the ending as to how all played out. Laine had turned to revenge to avenge her friend's death and her own attempted murder. I enjoyed her forthrightness, determination, and still had a heart. The support of her fellow vigilantes gave her the strength. Jaxon was quite a conundrum. He had his dark side, but his attraction to Laine brought some light into his world. There were triggers throughout the story so be aware. I found this book very intriguing. The narration of Evelyn Rose and Shane East added an extra dimension to the storytelling. They did a wonderful job.
I received a copy through Valentine PR, and this is my unsolicited review.
I listened to the audiobook version of this story and I loved how unhinged the characters are. I'm pretty sure every single character in this story is completely insane and I love it. Jaxon and Laine's story is full of twists, mystery, suspense, and blood. The burn between the main characters is slow but when it hits, it really burns. That first time he touched her... uff! I also enjoyed the banter between Jaxon and Laine. The narration by Evelyn Rose was great. Shane East had me panting with his voice at certain times and cringing in others but all in all I enjoyed this dark romance.
Did someone say Jekyll and Hyde? This book has such a good J&H inspired take on it! Huge shoutout to the MMC Narrator (Shane East) on doing such a great job capturing both personalities in such a well rounded way. I absolutely LOVED Jaxon and Laine's characters - give me a morally grey man any day, but throw in a morally grey FMC as well?! Gosh yes! The way this book gives second chance romance, enemies to lovers, billionaire, secret society and so many more amazing tropes while also keeping such a unique storyline? I ate it up! If you're looking for a new dark romance, with an obsessed and possessive man and a kickass female, you NEED to check this one out!
Ummm...I loved this!!! I received an ALC and the duet narration changed my life. Laine the FMC is a victim and has the scar to show for it. She and her new found friends are set out to avenge herself and other victims but taking down the men who preyed on them. Jaxon the billionaire surgeon with secrets wants Laine all to himself but has a secret of his own. This story was a crazy roller-coaster ride and pretty Unhinged! Read the TW's or go in blind like me but be ready!

This is one of the best dark romances i have had the pleasure to listen to this year. This book starts a bit slow but once it picks up its really takes off. There is mystery and intrigue added to the romance and a roller coaster of emotions all weaved into this amazing story. Add in two of the best narrators, Shane East and Evelyn Rose, to voice Jaxon and Laine and it makes for an amazing book.
I may have to listen to this a second time just to get the full story again....
Omg, this book took me on a dark and twisted ride and the ending completely blew my mind. Nothing is as it seems. She is hunting the Ripper and drawing him out, but when she finally finds him I was absolutely stunned. I could not stop listening because it kept me on pins and needles the entire time. The audio performance added an incredible layer of tension and atmosphere, sending chills down my back in the best possible way.
I listened to this book and it was delicious!! I received this an advanced listen and am leaving this review voluntarily. Shame East really gave depth and life to Jaxon’s character. And Evelyn Rose has Laine’s vulnerability and hesitation coming through with her performance. Great narrators!!!
Great story, full of possessiveness and spice. Highly recommend!!
Mallory writes some wild stories and I love it! Her female characters are full of grit and determination. At times I got mixed up with everyone was for side characters but that was mainly on me for not giving this my full attention. Evelyn and Shane are so amazing at bringing a story to life and giving characters their own unique voices.
ALC Review--From Hell by Mallory Fox Duet Narration by Evelyn Rose and Shane East
Tropes: Cat-and-mouse Dark obsession Billionaire surgeon with a dangerous edge Enemies-to-lovers Revenge, Suspense
I have no words… From Hell is haunting, addictive, and utterly consuming. Mallory Fox takes the cat-and-mouse trope and twists it into something darkly seductive, where predator and prey blur into something much more dangerous. This story about secrets, power, and a deadly pull neither character can escape.
Laine is no longer just a victim—she’s a force of her own, hunting in the shadows where she was once prey. Enter Jaxon Clémont, a surgeon with brilliance, power, and a darkness that mirrors her own. Their cat-and-mouse dance is haunting, seductive, and impossible to look away from.
The narration deserves its own spotlight—Evelyn Rose and Shane East were phenomenal. Evelyn carried the sharp edge of defiance while weaving in raw emotion, making me root for her character at every turn. Shane’s performance was magnetic and terrifying all at once—his tone, his cadence, his ability to sound both alluring and predatory, elevated Jaxon into something unforgettable. Together, they made this twisted rollercoaster of a story impossible to pause.
Huge thanks to Mallory Fox and Valentine PR for the ALC. Dark romance fans—this is one you need on your radar.
This is exactly what I want from a dark romance book. Think MindF*ck Series meets Under Your Scars. She’s a serial unaliver out for vengeance. He’s her stalker with a dark secret of his own. I couldn’t get enough of this one. 4.5 stars!
I did the audio for this and all the twist, mystery, and suspense had me hooked!! The banter between these two was amazing! It’s a slow burn but when it hits it sets a fire! The narrations were chef’s kiss!!
Ok I completely enjoyed this book! It is a twist on Jack the Ripper’s story and a victim that got away and decided she would not be a victim her whole life. A great listen as well. I did the audiobook and the narrators are amazing as well
From Hell by Mallory Fox should be added to your fall tbr immediately. Fox packed this story full of intriguing mysteries, an fmc who fights back and an mmc that will frustrate and endure you in equal measure. The voice actors did an incredible job with this one and it is totally worth the listen.
I don't know about you but I absolutely love an unhinged, morally grey female main character and this book delivers! Not only is the FMC a badass serial killer but we have the MMC Jaxon who is the Joker to her Harley Quinn. These MC's have a tragic past, questionable morals and are completely feral and I love it. I love the revenge, the plotting, the sexy times and everything in between. Overall I really enjoyed this story and the duet narration done by Evelyn Rose and Shane East is the literal cherry on top. Shane East can make any morally grey MMC sound sexy as hell.
This was such a fun dark romance read!
Thank you to Valentine PR for access to the ALC in exchange for an honest review. Pub Date: 9/8/25
I really enjoyed this listen, the narrators did a fantastic job of bringing Jaxon and Laine alive. It was full of tension, angst... great plot, great spice. A little predictable at times, and it did get a little slow around the middle mark, but i thoroughly enjoyed it overall. The last few chapters were so so good.
From Hell is the unhinged unliver couple we all need. The audio book is chef's kiss! Shane East blew it out of the park. The development of their relationship and how the secrets unfold are well done, the drama between the MMCs (iykyk) SO GOOD! I absolutely adore a well deserved HEA!
more of a slow burn but it was still a good amount towards the end of the book, lots of tension!
This book is loosely based on Jack the Ripper and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and it was a perfect mix. We have Laine, who refuses to be a victim of her past and becomes a femme fatale. Jaxon, the morally grey surgeon, becomes fixated with Laine again while battling with his darker side to keep her safe. Honestly, I would have liked a bit more of the Ripper’s POV as well as Jaxon’s inner struggles. Overall, I enjoy the progression of the story and the inner turmoil of Laine, who is trying to come to terms with her attraction to Jaxon’s dark side. I enjoy their banter, his possessiveness, and the spicy.
I received an ALC, and I wasn’t disappointed. The audio is done in duet style by Evelyn Rose and Shane East, who both did a perfect job of bringing this book to life. I do highly recommend listening to it. Thank you to Valentine PR for the ALC copy. This is my honest opinion.
