Devastated by her sister's death, Lucy heads to the city to complete the list her sister never got to finish. It's not like she has a choice. She made a deathbed promise to her sister that she'd finish it - even if it killed her. Little does Lucy realize it just might! Spencer was in the middle of a dangerous operation when Lucy literally walked straight into the middle of it, without warning. Fearing for her life if the people watching him realize that he knows her, Spencer's only possible plan of action is to act as though he doesn't know her.
Lucy could hardly believe it when she saw her unrequitted love sitting at an outdoor cafe. She hadn't seen Spencer in years. Not since the summer she turned eighteen - the summer that had been both the best, and the worst, time of her life. It had been Spencer who got her through it. He'd been her best friend and savior.
With the list burning a hole in her pocket, it crosses her mind that there's something on it that he could help her out with. Who better than the man she'd spent her teenage years infatuated with, imagining exactly that!
When Spencer acts as though he doesn't know her, Lucy is hurt, and lets him know it. After everything they had been through she can't believe he's acting this way.
Spencer knows he's hurting Lucy, but he has no other choice. Lives depend on it.
He tells her to leave, before it's too late.
Lucy was the only woman he'd ever loved, and he would never forgive himself if anything happened to her.
He'd never acted on his feelings, wanting to protect her from the darker side of his life. But just knowing she was out there had been enough to get him through some of the darkest hours of his life.
By the time Lucy realizes something is not right, it's already too late. Next thing she knows, she's on the run for her life with Spencer as their past and future collides.

*I want to thank the author for providing me a free copy in exchange for an honest review.*
Oh my word this book grabbed me from the very beginning... I couldn't put it down! I love Lucy she is such a great female character & Spencer is a great male lead, he's strong but sweet. I am so glad I have the second one to jump right into though. I highly recommend this book so I suggest going to get it now!
The made lucky out to me meek and then all of a sudden she's developed this strength to be fisty. She was very annoying for a while. But i hate not to finish books so i kept reading.
I really liked it! New author for me and I'm sooo glad I found her. Fast paced story never a dull moment. Very nice romance mixed with keeping ahead of the bad guys and some humor to boot. What more do you need? Just the next book.
Loose Ends by Amanda Love I received this book and its sequel from the author in exchange for an honest review. The book immediately tears at your heartstrings and has me verging on tears when the main character, Lucy, is fighting the inevitable with her sister Beck who is dying from cancer after refusing further treatment. Lucy is tasked with completing a bucket list for her sister once her sister passes. The bucket list idea is interesting and had me hopeful but it wasn't a huge theme after Lucy was assigned this task. I hope that it is revisited in later books and goes into more detail about what is on this bucket list because there were only a few things mentioned and only 1 or 2 that were able to be marked off the list as completed. The story continues with Lucy bumping into her crush, Spencer, who she hasn't seen since he disappeared out of her life one day. She doesn't realize that her random run in with Spencer just threw her into a life or death situation. The book is very suspenseful at the beginning and winds down as the story continues. It is hard for me to really rate this story because it is very much like the title. It had a lot of "loose ends" that were not even close to being worked out by the end of the first book. The book is a quick and fairly easy read. I liked where the story was headed but I really felt like there should have been more things explained or clarified. I hope that these items will be brought into focus in the later books.
I was extremely pleased by how quickly this book captivated my full attention and how the suspense continued to increase page after page until I was surprisingly at the end of book 1. This thriller is a must read if you like the movie Oceans Eleven. Amanda Love is such a phenomenal author that I have now put her name on my top list of my "Must read books by favorite authors." Can't wait to read book 2.
I loved the characters, Lucy & Spencer & the depth of their feelings! I have read 55 books in the last 3yrs! I'm now in a nursing facility with a Kindle Fire, I download so I can read easily , only have one usable hand & this allows me my favorite pastime reading!
