The war is over, and Hayden is eager for his fourth year at Mizzenwald to be as relaxing and uneventful as possible. So naturally, it’s the craziest year he’s had at school yet: a winter holiday with his nemeses, a battle of wills against the most powerful mages on the continent, and some bad luck with a yeti are just the beginning of his problems.
Hayden may have defeated the sorcerers of the north, but the Nine Lands are still feeling the aftermath of the battle in the Forest of Illusions. A schism is open at Mizzenwald, and the only way to close it involves entering a strange world of anti-magic and sacrificing all sanity.
Now, Hayden is forced to make a choice between saving everyone he cares about and keeping his promise to never become like his father—because there is only one way to close a schism, and this time Hayden must confront his fears alone.

Fourth book in an excellent YA fantasy series that while definitely inspired by Harry Potter is not a clone. The book can be read without the first three. I enjoyed reading it, but the ending stopped at a point where I really need to keep reading. Will be eagerly awaiting book 5.
This book started off as a Harry Potter clone, but has since then progressed to an individual entity on its own. I read this series at a cost of nothing using my Kindle Unlimited account. So far worth every penny. The series did not have too many plot twists, but was engaging and fast-paced nonetheless. Do not misjudge these books based on my rating, I have read too many fantasy books lately for a book to completely bowl me over! I totally recommend this series to readers who are young or new to fantasy genre.

I read all four books this saturday and they were awesome, but I swear they kept getting shorter every single dang time. When I finished those last few sentences of this book, only to realize that I would have to wait months or even years to discover what happens next, I was very aggravated.Lol awesome books though.
AHHHHH!!!! As I was reading about Hunter I knew I just knew he was going to be Aleric. Seems kind of sad he could've stayed in the other realm being a hero and awesome. Instead he saves Hayden comes back and is the Dark Prism again. I actually think I would LOVE to read about the 5 years he was Hunter I think it would be a very entertaining story.

Another year for Hayden and lots more adventures. We get more background on him and the other characters in the series. Love that it ends on a cliffhanger. Will definitely need to read the next book.
