Ashbound
In the 1970s, the world changed forever. Without warning, colossal towers of black stone erupted from the earth, and with them came the Aserathi—an alien people who looked like humans but were faster, stronger, and infinitely more dangerous.

Women need Cael in their diet
I love the overall theme of a dystopian, apocalyptic type setting. Throw in some aliens that can transform humans and you'll have me hooked on the series.... oh yeah you did so im hooked!

Absolutely Moral Garbage
Book doesn’t seem to be AI generated. That’s the best I can say about it for now.
However, the author seems to be some sort of morally deficient or empathy blind sociopath.
In this story, aliens have invaded earth. Cool premise.
They are physically identical to humans, except have super powers, such as speed, strength, some other metaphysical powers such as telepathy and whatnot. The only way to kill them is beheading, so they fight with swords mostly.
Humanity failed to repel them, but at the end of the war humanity made… blade cannons? That can decapitate an alien from 20 miles away. (Amazing that they can shoot around the curvature of the earth with a cannon that decapitates!)
Apparently being blown up by a tank cannon or artillery doesn’t count as a beheading either? The author doesn’t make sense.
But where it gets seriously screwed up is with our hero.
Cael - because of course his name is Cael, is a bounty hunter working for the local government. He has a quasi apprentice, a teenage girl he took in a few years back.
While on assignment he discovers that several men have kidnapped one of the aliens. He ‘rescues’ her, (apparently she let herself be captured) and takes her home.
She cannot mind control Cael, but she can mind control his apprentice. Who she then rapes. In front of Cael. Who does nothing. He leaves the house to go talk to the mayor. While she mind controls his apprentice and friend and possible love interest and rapes her in a shower.
He then runs into his ex friend, a traitor to humanity who wants Cael to be her perfect man. After she abandoned him. More nonsensical plot happens, and he winds up back home.
The alien who MIND CONTROLLED AND RAPED HIS FRIEND then proceeds to tell him that he shouldn’t be judging her, because her race isn’t that bad.
Sure they killed 5 billion people, enslaved them all, rape whoever they wanted, mind control whoever they want, murder entire villages or families if one person steps out of line, but humans are just as bad because they…
Had 2 world wars.
Cael just takes it, seemingly agreeing because he sure as hell doesn’t rebut any of her statements. But because he’s got magical cock plot armor, she also wants to be with him.
It doesn’t get better.

Can’t wait for book three!
Good series so far, just finished book two and eagerly await book three. A new to me author. I have started another series of his, titled the devils apprentice which I think is good but I prefer Ashbound if I had to choose.
