Thank you Erin Marie Bassett for the gifted copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
I found the previous three D.C. Renegades books fantastic, every single one of them, so saying I was excited to continue with this fourth installment is an understatement! Although I must say: Crosby was my absolute favorite book boyfriend after reading his story, so I was curious how Erin could top that. But she did!
I have never devoured a 400 pages this fast all while being in the busiest season of work! Als je nog een boek zoekt voor pride month, this is it: dive into a world as ours should be – no traumatic coming out, no homophobia, just a love developing between two men and the support of everyone around them!
When a hockey player who doesn't want a relationship and a country star who was just publicly cheated on and therefore fled the country meet in Scotland, a friendship develops…with benefits. What starts as a casual encounter becomes more complicated when feelings can no longer be ignored.
The elements I loved in the previous books are present here too: the found family, the group chats of the hockey players and their WAGs, the moments that make you laugh out loud, the moments that make you swoon and Felix, what a cutie!
What made this story unique is: getting to know Duncan behind the jokes. I enjoyed getting to know his side of the story from the moments in the earlier books, and seeing all the deeper layers and his personal development. It is so beautiful how Duncan learns to deal with his feelings and let people in, while Rhys learns how to open his heart again: both vulnerable men behind their public image.
The chemistry between Duncan and Rhys is amazing right from their first meeting! Their transition from friends with benefits to a real relationship feels natural, believable and genuine.
Once again, Erin manages to successfully incorporate a trope that I’m often not too enthusiastic about: where friends-with-benefits-to-lovers often revolves primarily around physical attraction, here it is mainly about emotional intimacy. You see how Duncan and Rhys get to know each other better, become each other's safe haven and slowly realize that "just friends" will never be enough.
And last but not least: true to form, the story is very spicy, so I learned quite alot about gay sexual relationships 😉
I went into Unstoppable Love without having read any other books in the series, and I want to lead with that because I think it shaped my experience.
First, the good stuff. A cowboy in a kilt AND a hockey player? Yes, please. Both characters are incredibly lovable, with cute banter that made me smile. Duncan is hilarious, genuinely laugh out loud funny, even when he's getting on Rhys's nerves. And the spice? Really well done. (🪞 If you know, you know.) The chemistry between these two is undeniable from the jump.
Now, my only caveat, and this may be a "me problem" since I haven't read the earlier books, is that so much energy goes into the side characters and their stories. At times, it pulled me out of the reading experience because I wished more of that focus stayed on the main couple. I suspect if you have read the other books, this wouldn't feel like an issue at all. For me, it didn't add to the plot so much as distract from it.
That said, I did really like all the side characters. Watching Rhys get welcomed into the group of WAGs was absolutely perfect. I loved every bit of that.
One of my favorite things about this book was the magical, feel good world where homophobia simply doesn't exist. That didn't have to be a point of contention or trauma. Sometimes it's just nice to step outside reality and pretend our community gets to exist freely without the weight. This book delivered that beautifully.
Overall, Unstoppable Love is a super cute, low angst, feel good story. I really enjoyed it, and I'll absolutely be open to reading more from this author.
*I received this eARC for free in exchange for my honest review.*
2.5/5 ⭐
Thank you to the author for providing me an eARC of this book! This is actually the first book I've read from the author and the first I've read in the D.C. Renegades series.
I wanted to enjoy this book more than I actually did. On paper, it seems like it would be super fun and enjoyable: a MM hockey romance with a tatted country singer and they're both Scottish! However, the reality is that this book felt all over the place. I couldn't take the story seriously whenever it was Duncan's pov. I understand his character is supposed to be lighthearted and playful but when that's all he has going for him, it gets boring really quick. The nicknames and the pranks made Duncan feel like a high schooler rather than an adult professional athlete. I enjoyed Rhys' perspective a lot more since he felt like an actual character instead of just a caricature of a trope. The biggest issue I had with this book is the dialogue. It felt so childish and fake, like I'm not a male hockey player for a professional team, but I doubt they talk like that to each other.
The last 100 pages or so had me hooked, with the drama and the surprises. I was thankful to see some character development in Duncan, but it still didn't change my mind on his character. I wish this book was more enjoyable for me but overall it was just ok.
EMB does it again as I sit here with my heart full and a smile on my face after diving headfirst into Duncan and Rhys’ love story. What’s your magic brain fueled on, Erin, and can I please live in it?!
If you’ve ever fantasized about visiting the Scottish highlands to meet the love of your life amid a bit of chaos and witty commentary - then this book is for you. If you haven’t had that thought…poor you.
The development of maturity within Rhys and Duncan - realizing what being in a relationship really means and how it can fill you up (your heart, ya sickos) was so sweet. I just love them so much. Please protect their little hearts at all costs.
The DC Renegades series has always promoted love being easily accepted and deserved. Erin Marie Basset continues that trend in Unstoppable Love, a befitting title for book 4. I truly enjoyed the world and family Erin has built in this series. She allows for people to be seen in her stories, just as they are, and accepted for no other reason. This book was sweet and romantic, but low angst allowed for me to truly just enjoy the MCs' journeys as they found their way to one another.
Duncan has been present in every DC book thus far, but always in the background providing a good laugh. I was stoked when Erin announced his story. This book takes the readers into his mind to see how much he is struggling and the facade he puts on for others. Erin definitely made this man run deep and pulling back his layers was a real treat. He craves what his teammates all seem to be finding. He is a large hockey player, but a total teddy bear on the inside. Getting to know him more has me wanting to go back and re-read the series to see how many other times I missed this sensitive soul.
Rhys is beyond what I saw for Duncan. He is 100% himself from the beginning, learning long ago, only being true to himself is what’s important. He was patient and understanding whenever speaking to Duncan. He brings life into wherever he goes and not because of his tattoos or the kilt that he wears. He sees people and truly makes them feel seen. His heart is so big. I loved seeing him open up to Duncan and allow someone to make him feel as he has made so many others feel.
Erin always brings chemistry that is impossible to not feel to her stories. Duncan and Rhys are no different and their chemistry is explosive. They are flirtatious and crazy about each other, yet their relationship brings out vulnerabilities that made my heart melt. The DC Renegades also continue their chemistry as a team and the family they have created. Once again they surround one another with love and support, fully welcoming another into the fold.
As always, review any author notes before reading.

Unstoppable Love By Erin Marie Bassett ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 (4.5 Stars)
I love that I get to kick off PRIDE Month with the first book I’ve read that focuses entirely on a male/male relationship, and honestly? It was such a beautiful story.
I kept waiting for some huge misunderstanding, dramatic breakup, or major conflict to tear Rhys and Duncan apart for a significant chunk of the book, and I was SO grateful that never really happened. The hiccups in their relationship felt realistic, but their love truly was unstoppable.
Favorite Parts:
🖤 The Characters Both Rhys and Duncan were lovable and relatable, which are two of my favorite qualities in main characters. They definitely had flaws, but watching them work through things together instead of constantly against each other made this such a comforting and satisfying read.
🖤 Yes Day I absolutely loved this date concept. Seeing them push each other outside their comfort zones in fun, creative ways made for some of my favorite scenes in the book. The candy stealing/confession scene was hilarious (major kudos to Rhys), and I genuinely thought the costume change near the end was going to involve the thrift store clothing. The kilt and jersey were definitely the more obvious choice though.
🖤 The Kitchen Supplies Honestly, I think Duncan was falling harder and faster than Rhys for a while there. He was trying SO hard to be boyfriend material, even if he’d never openly admit it. The second he went all in on the kitchen supplies, I knew this man was completely gone for Rhys.
🖤 The WAGS & Friend Group I loved that Duncan’s friend circle was immediately welcoming to Rhys and didn’t require an NDA. Just a genuinely supportive group of people who wanted Duncan to be happy. It added so much warmth to the story.
I definitely need to read more books in the DC Renegades series, but I’m also kind of glad this was my starting point.
Thank you to @erinmariebassett for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!
Unstoppable Love by Erin Marie Bassett is the 4th book in the D.C. Renegades series.
I absolutely LOVE Rhys and Duncan! I was literally scrambling for my kindle charger because my battery was depleted and I couldn't let a little electrical deficiency keep me from finishing their amazingly funny and very charged story in one day!
For starters, I am a goner for Duncan and who wouldn't be with his wit, humor, his charming personality and compassionate nature. Of course, it doesn't hurt that he is a sexy, flirty professional hockey player. Gotta love watching those warmup sessions on the ice! He uses his humor to deflect and focus on others and keeps things on a surface level to avoids romantic relationships.
Then there is Rhys with his good looks, confidence, charisma, tattoos, sense of humor, and his Scottish Country Rock Star music persona. Rhys is coming off a bad relationship when he meets Duncan and the instant connection sparks off the pages. The heat and chemistry between them could melt the ice in the rink!
Their journey as they navigate this connection while dealing with their current career commitments and Duncan adjusting to life changes among his teammates and where he fits in definitely emphasizes the complexity of any relationship and draws you into this heart-melting and engaging story.
The group chats, the amazingly supportive and funny family members along with the awesome teammates and their partners provides depth to this story that delivers their own level of laugh out loud humor, levity, and emotional connections.
Such a wonderful story and I'm addicted to these guys! So looking forward to find out what happens next with the D.C. Renegades.
I want to thank Erin Marie Bassett for the early copy of this book and I'm sharing my voluntary opinion.
This is the first book I've read by this author. There is a lot I liked about the book.
Conceptually, it is very much the type of book I'd pick up. I read a lot of MM romance and MM sports romance in particular. The flirty banter between Duncan and Rhys was delightful from the beginning. I like that you don't have to wait long to get to the spice, since this is a FWB set up. Duncan and Rhys have great chemistry, and their intimacy is incredibly hot. Those scenes are well-written and never felt stale. I also appreciate the dual 1st person POV, because it allows getting into the heads of these characters, knowing what they are both thinking. My heart ached at times reading their internal dialogue.
I thought the story moved along at a good pace. I was engaged and glued to the page. One thing that didn't appeal to me personally was the extent of Duncan's unseriousness. I get that he's a jokester, and it's something he hides behind as a defense mechanism, but I found myself as frustrated as Rhys with his inability to act sincere for a single second. No wonder they have communication issues. Duncan does grow to express himself better as the story nears its end, but at the onset, I was confused at how old Duncan was supposed to be. He talks about being in the league for several years, but he talks more like a teenage boy. I think there could have been a way for him to come across as the emotionally stunted jokester without being juvenile. It's something about the character that just didn't work for me. That doesn't mean it was the wrong creative choice.
Overall, I enjoyed this story a lot. There is a satisfying story arc with plenty of the elements I want in a romance.
I received this advanced copy from the author in exchange for my honest review.

The D.C. Renegades are quickly becoming my favorite hockey team to read about, and that's all thanks to Erin Marie Bassett. I recently finished Unstoppable Love, book four in the series, and I honestly can't wait to continue. This was an easy 4-star read for me.
I will admit that this book was a little different from the previous three because it is an MM romance. This is a genre I don't typically gravitate toward, but I wanted to give it a chance because I've loved these characters throughout the series and needed to know how Duncan's story would unfold. I'm so glad I did because this book did not disappoint.
Duncan is the team's resident funnyman, always handing out nicknames, supporting his friends, and helping anyone who needs it. Rhys, a Scottish country music star, is reeling after being cheated on by his boyfriend. When a trip to Scotland brings Duncan and Rhys together, they decide on a friends-with-benefits arrangement. After all, one is recovering from a failed relationship, and the other doesn't do relationships at all. What could possibly go wrong?
If you're on the fence about picking this book up, I highly recommend giving it a try. In fact, I'd recommend the entire series if you haven't started it yet. If Duncan and Rhys don't win you over, the Big Guns team chat and the Stick Handlers group chat certainly will. You'll find yourself laughing, smiling, and rooting for these two before you know it.
Thank you, Erin Marie Bassett, for the opportunity to be an ARC reader for this book. I truly loved it and can't wait to read Emmett's story next!
All I can say is awwwwww. I LOVED Duncan's story!!! He's so funny!! I think this one has me laughing the most. The banter is hilarious especially in the group chats 😂
Duncan- hockey player. Witty, funny, and compassionate. Life of the party type!
Rhys- Scottish tattooed rockstar. Funny, yet reserved. A bit more serious.
Opposites definitely attract with this one!
Him and Rhys are absolute perfection. This book was actually incredibly deep. Following along with their story watching Duncan start of as anti relationship and growing from there. Who doesn't love a hockey player and a rockstar?!?
As always I think Erin does a fantastic job with the organic growth in her stories. You get to witness the messy, raw, not always sunshine things along with the sweetest, swoon worthy kick your feet and giggle moments. Sprinkled with some very heated chemistry. I don't smoke but there were definitely some scenes I felt I needed to start! This was nicely balanced with a little bit of everything you coukd ask for 😍
I absolutely love this series and am excited to see what is next!

Rhys & Duncan. Rhys is a famous country music star who is at his family home in Ireland licking his wounds after his boyfriend cheated on him with a starlet and Duncan is a hockey player for the D.C. Renegades in Ireland to visit his grandmother. They meet in while there and negotiate a friends with benefits situation but I don't need to tell you that FWB quickly turns into so much more. I loved this book because I really felt like I was just going about daily business with these two as they navigated their separate identities and then who they were to each other. Rhys' sensitivity was just a great contrast to Duncan's "hockey boy" jock persona. Isn't it always the tough ones that are the ones to fall the hardest?
Erin Marie Bassett did an amazing job weaving together their lives, Duncan's friends, and the difficulties of having two high profile demanding careers that take them in so many different places. This is the first book I have read in this series so I definitely need to go back and read the stories of all the amazing supportive/secondary characters. Duncan's friends (his teammates and their partners) are definitely goals.

First, I love that Erin writes about a world with no hate, just like it should be, love is love.
I first fell in love with Duncan as a side character in the previous DC Renegades books and fell even more in love with him as the MMC. Instead of the loud boisterous Duncan we’re used to seeing, this book takes a deep dive into his struggles and vulnerabilities. No matter how much he denies and tries to fight it, he craves the things his teammates are finding.
Rhys is a perfect match for Duncan. Even after his troubled introduction, we quickly learn that what you see is what you get.
The relationship between Duncan and Rhys isn’t the only shining star in the book. The found family within the Renegades team is always a standout. They’re always happy to welcome another member into their midst.
The author has always written chemistry between characters really well. She draws you in and keeps your attention, and your heart, invested until the end. I can’t wait to continue this series.
Hehehehehe 🤭 I just had to giggle about these boys before writing about them.
BOY OH BOY! I love this so much! Duncan has been a favorite character of mine through this series and he has stayed a consistent character through each book. And Rhys!? He compliments Duncan so well. They’re like chocolate and peanut butter (Duncan is the chocolate and Rhys the peanut butter, duh).
Duncan - the emotionally unavailable, deflects with humor, takes care of everyone else playboy.
Rhys - the desperately wants to be loved, avoids the spotlight country superstar.
I loved reading these two navigate their relationship from FWB to boyfriends to almost husbands (can’t wait to watch Rhys be the best HAB 😂). Erin once again wrote in such a relatable way that held their relationship to a realistic standard. Nothing between them felt forced or fictional.
Without fail, every book in this series has felt like listening to a close friend tell the story of how them and their SO met. And Unstoppable Love was no different!
I can never recommend the D.C. Renegades series enough, truly a top tier series for me. 💜
I went into this book without having read the others, and with that said, I absolutely can't wait to dive into the world this author has created!
I absolutely loved the dynamic between Duncan and Rhys. Duncan has such a goofball and fun personality that it makes him really stand out, and I love the bond that truly blooms between the two of them! I loved how this book also had so many little things that kept me dying to turn the next page or laughing out loud while reading it.
Rhys, a complete opposite, quiet rockstar, comes in and completely stirs the pot in the best way possible. I loved that Duncan even knew who he was in the first place. It was nice getting to read something different than all the other "strangers to lovers" books; I think it really adds to their dynamic.
I loved getting the feel of having a little bit of everything in this book as well: the flirty banter, the chaos of friends-with-benefits, and the hockey v rockstar vibes. It really gave us a little bit of everything, and I loved it.
I'm so excited to see what else Erin Marie Bassett has for us, and I am definitely about to go read the other books!
I just wanted to say thank you for allowing me to read an ARC of Unstoppable Love. I have to admit this was the first book I have read by this author. I can honestly say I thoroughly enjoyed this book so much. The characters have a great dynamic throughout.
Duncan is just a sweet and goofy man. He's always looking out for everyone around him. He deserves the world for trying to be a good friend. I love his caring side coming out to help his bestie win a girl's heart. As someone who can't really put my thoughts into words, I get him so well. His way of showing he cares is out there, but it works for him.
Rhys is such a tender soul. He tries his best to get out of his comfort zone but fails horribly in the best way. I love the way he clocked it immediately that Duncan was just a big old teddy bear. I just hope he gives Duncan proper cooking lessons.
Their banter was so cute and natural. They were drawn to each other since they met. I always love an old instant connection.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This has everything that I want in a rom-com, fun banter, good spice and just the right amount of yearning. This was an overall really good book, its MM which I love, Hockey which I love, and a famous musician which I love, however it took a lot for me to get into it. The first 50 pages were filled with so many side characters that were introduced by both their names and their nicknames which double the names you had to remember and make it hard to follow. Now this is book 4 in a series of interconnected standalones, but I felt that you really needed to have read the other books to not be confused. I almost felt I needed a chart to remember all the people, even by the end I wasn't 100% sure who every side character was. Side characters aside I loved the way that the relationship between Rhys and Duncan developed and spent quite a bit of time especially towards the end giggling and kicking my feet happily. This was a fun read, but I think you definitely need to read the other books first if you dont want to be confused.
This is by far my favorite book of this series. I enjoyed every single little moment between them because the connection was instant in a way that did not surprise me at all. Duncan wears his heart on his sleeve and except for in the moments that matter the most and it honestly is so relatable and real that it broke my heart. I think having someone like Rhys come into his life and have him feel all of these things that he's never truly felt before and "feel seen" in more ways than one was the pinnacle of this book for me. Yes, the sexual tension is always there, but with them it was so much more than that. There were also moments of just pure friendship between them, and I think that is one thing Erin does really well. She makes the characters feel human and not just like sex objects on a page. This book also made me laugh a crap ton (as it should have since its a romcom), but I think I annoyed my neighbors while reading this. But if you enjoy a good MM, RomCom, with some other cool hockey players mixed in. I think it's worth the read.
This book had me so locked in from the first line that I completely forgot about any responsibilities I may have had. I could not put this book down. I really appreciated the way everything was handled in this book. The focus was the romance developing between two people, and not on the trauma or hate that comes with that. Duncan and Rhys had so much support and I absolutely loved that for them. The connection these two share was so deep and intense. And it felt so genuine. The friendship they had was so real and watching it morph into something more was beyond endearing. And the chemistry that comes with that deep connection was off the charts. Seeing these two men open up and grow together was heartwarming to say the least. The vulnerability that both Rhys and Duncan showcase had me swooning so hard and cheering for them to find all the happiness very loudly. I needed them to live a life of happiness and love. And the ending we got left me feeling fully satisfied and content. Now I just need Emmett’s story to come out so I can get my next fix!
Each book of the D.C. Renegades just keeps getting better and better, but Duncan and Rhys have stole the show for me. 🥰🥰
I've always liked Duncan, he's the goofy, charismatic flirt and is the friend/teammate that's always there for everyone. You get to learn his internal battles when he goes from being everyone's comedic relief of a friend to now getting pushed aside a little when life starts happening and everyone else's relationships take a spotlight.
Rhys being the one to take care of Duncan in a way that teaches Dunc more about himself while Rhys learns more about letting go and having fun... there couldn't have been a better match. I will ship them all day, everyday. The chemistry between this tatted rockstar and hunky hockey player is nuclear grade. 🥵🥵
This book was funny, spicy, and heartwarming. I laughed, cried, and lost some hours of my sleep. Unstoppable Love is my favorite Renegade book, so far, and I highly recommend reading it!!
I read this book as an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy), and the following review reflects my honest, voluntary opinion on the work.
This is a unique book on its own as it combines hockey romance with show-stopping musical performer romance. The personalities of the two main characters are well fleshed out, which makes them undeniably lovable. The stoic X goofball dynamic really sets the love story up well, and even if you aren't big into romance books, I can confidently say this book will make you laugh. Most of my bookmarks while reading are jokes or funny moments I thoroughly enjoyed and would like to return to later. Additionally, the inclusion and support surrounding the deaf community were heartwarming. I also really enjoyed that one of the MCs has a dental aid, as that realistic side of life often is not portrayed well in media outlets. I believe this book works very well as a sweet palate cleanser that guarantees lovable material, characters, and plot lines.
ARC Review: I had not read any of the DC Renegades books when I was picked to read this one. I ended up binge reading books 1-3 to make sure I could give an accurate review of book 4.
This book was everything you want in a romance story, featuring one of my favorite plots — he falls first, but he falls harder. I wanted to read it in one sitting but life got in the way. Starting off with a meet cute in Scotland hooked me in right away, and I could not stop smiling.
Duncan and Rhys, two different personalities — Duncan the goofy one of his friend group, and Rhys the quiet rockstar who lives life a bit more on the serious side. As their story moved forward you could see how they were each starting to fall in love with each other. Felix and the team were there to lend a hand as always, and the WAGs were there to support Rhys! One of the best aspects of this series is the side characters banding together to support the main love interests in each book.
Opposites-attract, slow burn, and a Scottish meet cute — what more could you ask for? This one is not to be missed.
Thank you Erin for the ARC! Can't wait to see what everyone else thinks when it comes out!
went into this having not read the first three books.
At first, I really did not like this book. The first few chapters just weren’t drawing me in. It felt like the names and nicknames and jokes were just overwhelming and being pushed out all at once. However, after several chapters everything was starting to play out and I started to enjoy the book.
I absolutely loved Duncan’s family!!
My favorite part was probably the banter between Duncan and Rhys and how you couldn’t guess what they were going to say next. The spicy scenes were written really well and I really wanted more. I can say that I was not really a fan of the kilt but that’s just a personal preference. The spicy scene with the kilt was great.
Overall, once I got into the book it was a quick read and played out like a movie for me. I’m not sure if I’ll read the rest of the series but I’m glad I read this one!!
If there’s one thing this book proves, it’s that “just friends” was never going to survive this level of chemistry. 🔥🏒🎸
Unstoppable Love completely hooked me with the banter, emotional tension, and absolutely elite friends-with-benefits chaos. Between the hockey vibes, rockstar energy, found family moments, and team group chats that had me laughing out loud, this book delivered everything I want in an MM romcom.
And the spice? OPEN DOOR and unapologetically hot. The mirror scene alone deserves its own standing ovation. 🥵 Add in a tattooed Scottish MMC in a kilt and honestly… I never stood a chance.
But beyond the heat, this story really shines in the emotional moments. Watching these two slowly realize they were always meant to be more than friends gave me all the feelings.
If you love: 🏒 Hockey romance 🎸 Rockstar chaos 🔥 Friends-with-benefits tension 🖤 Found family 🥃 Scottish MMCs with accents that ruin your life 🌶️ Spicy MM romance
ARC Review 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ I’m OBSESSED with this couple!! First off, they’re Irish!! Enough said!! Rhys is the sweetest boy with the sluttiest glasses, while Duncan is a hot playboy with the kindest soul. The banter was *chefs kiss*! The comedy was great! I laughed out loud so many times!! “Let’s go have a sword fight, Charming” is my favorite line in the entire book!! It was fast paced, hot, delicious, sweet, funny, charming and everything else in between, and I got sucked in immediately. I needed to know how their romance evolved. Duncan’s family reminds me of my own family. Loud, super close, loving, supportive and welcoming to anyone! I loved everything about this book. I am hoping there will be audio, because these Irish men in audio would be sooooo hot!! 10/10 recommend, especially as a summer romance!
Unstoppable ⭐️/ 5 star read 🌶️/3 hot and spicy These two! I can’t even…… in a good way! Oh the luck of the Irish ☘️ Rhys is kind, sweet, loving with his sexy glasses that just does it for all of us. He’s a sweetie for sure. Duncan is a player type/ known also as the team’s playboy who really has that image down but is changing his ways….
The way these two ping pong the banter and the witty comments between them was so hilarious I couldn’t stop laughing. They were so good together even when they were trying not to be…… I loved the found family within the Duncan’s family they were what I would love a family to be heartfelt and welcoming. This was a pacing, a kind of cozy feel good vibe. And a couple you couldn’t help but root for! I would definitely say yes add this to your TBR especially if you love a good hockey romance with flavors of a cowboy and Irish lad! Lol hey it’s different but it worked!

Duncan and Rhys happen to be in Scotland on vacation visiting family when they run into each other. Rhys just went through a breakup, so he’s supposed to be focusing on his new album and heartbreak. Duncan has other plans for him though, and keeps convincing him to spend time with him.
Duncan and Rhys were so sweet. I loved how smitten Rhys was that he moves to be closer to Duncan. I loved watching Duncan fall in love for the first time, and how these two had to figure out how to communicate with each other with how different they were. I also liked that this book and the last book in the series have crossover timelines that we got to see.
🌶️🌶️
Thank you, Erin, for sending me a copy of this book!
I did not think this book was going to land for me, but around 70% I got hooked in. I hate to DNF a book, even if it sucks because at least then I see the whole story and understand why the author wrote what they did and I’m glad a stuck through this one.
The book is segmented to me-like it could’ve been two books. The first part when they meet feels like a completely different story than when they’re together later. By the end I almost forgot the whole beginning until it was referenced again.
Duncan is exactly the kind of person I surround myself with, so I enjoyed his character a lot. The engagement with all the side characters really made me feel immersed in the community/setting of the book.
I didn’t read any of the other books in this series, but learning about the other characters almost convinced me. I’m very invested in Felix’s future.
Do you know the characters where you are reading and you just can’t stop smiling 😁 and then you turn the page? 😳😬😂 That is Duncan to a tee….AND I LOVE HIM!!
Duncan’s goal is to make everyone happy and he certainly does that for me.
The love story between Duncan and Rhys starts like a very spicy fairytale but then life gets in the way only for it to come full circle with a Happily Ever After.
This may be book 4 in an interconnected standalone series but you get to meet and fall in love with all the characters from the D.C. Renegades. (Aiden, Bryson, Crosby, Duncan, Emmett and Felix) I love how Erin includes every one of the players (and the WAG’s) in all her books; it makes the found family trope hit that much harder.
And don’t even get me started on Felix…I can’t wait for his book and for all his boys to rally for him.
I love a good hockey romance, however a country singer + hockey player? 👀 it was spicy 🌶️
Unstoppable Love book four 4️⃣ of the D.C. Renegades. This was my first book that I read from the series. From the start, you get a “found family” vibes from this team, which I enjoy! I do see myself reading the whole series in the future🤪
A little blurb about the book:
Unstoppable Love follows Duncan Paisley (hockey player) and Rhys Reid, a country singer who just got his heart broken 💔. They unexpectedly crossed paths in Scotland while Rhys was visiting his parents to recover from his breakup. They clicked from the start as friends… and then gets upgraded to friends with benefits🤪 Throughout this whole journey, they realized they are more than just FWB. If you would like to know what happens.. I guess you just gotta read it when it comes it!
This romance is so sweet and beautiful! Definitely my favourite book in the series so far.
Duncan is hilarious and Rhys is a sweetheart. Such great banter between them. I was pulled into their connection as it grew and felt every emotion. What came across so strongly was the intimacy they shared. Small moments of vulnerability that allow them to love each other for exactly who they are. The spice is incredible too and it all tied together so authentically. There is a 3rd act breakup but it doesn't last long and it makes sense.
I have read the previous books so I love the found family of teammates and their partners. However, the use of their full names plus their nicknames is a little bit overwhelming.
Excellent disability representation that is respectfully written. I'm absolutely hooked on this series!
