Experience the resilience of the human spirit through the art of verse…
Unmuted is a fearless collection of poetry that speaks into the spaces where silence has been demanded. With clarity and edge, David Andrew Tittle writes of identity, memory, resistance, and belonging—unraveling the borders of family, culture, and history while refusing to look away from injustice.
From intimate reflections on grief and survival to searing critiques of social and political silence, these poems carry both tenderness and teeth. They trace the journey of a voice once pressed to the margins, now unafraid to question, to resist, and to claim space.
Unflinching yet deeply human, Unmuted offers readers blueprints, mirrors, and maps for navigating a world that too often insists on quiet.

This is a nice book written in verse. It talks about a lot of important topics -- things that many times are kept silent. Personally, the writing itself didn't click for me perfectly but I liked reading it. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a poetry collection that covers a variety of social issues and topics.

As a person of colour, there were many poems in here that hit the mark a little bit harder. Although the style was much different than I’m used to reading in poetry and prose, I could feel the strength, the pain, and the power pour from the pages. I could feel what the author was trying to convey with each piece. This surprised me and I enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to read poetry and prose where you can feel the emotion and impact that goes beyond the written word!
Unmuted is a striking collection of poetry that dives deep into themes of identity, grief, resilience, and the courage to speak when silence has been demanded. David Andrew Tittle balances tenderness with sharp critique, creating verses that are as moving as they are thought-provoking. I enjoyed this book because it felt both personal and universal—like the poet was speaking directly to me while also echoing a larger human struggle. It’s the kind of poetry that lingers long after you close the book.
i really liked this one! it gave me a lot to chew on and the poems were lengthy for the most part which i appreciated - so many poetry books these days are written like tweets, and while that is sometimes okay, i dislike when every poem is like that. none of the poems in this collection are like that while still remaining under 200 pages. it is short but packs an emotional punch, i highlighted a bunch of quotes in my kindle and found myself sighing and going, "wow, that's...a lot" at many points, but not in a bad way. i highly suggest that those who enjoy meaningful poetry pick this one up!
These poems don’t whisper—they roar! Unmuted is raw, bold, and straight-up unafraid to poke at the things most people shy away from. I loved how each page felt like a gut punch and a hug at the same time, mixing hard truths with moments of beauty that made me stop and think. If you want poetry that doesn’t play it safe and actually makes you feel, this is the book to grab. 🔥📖
I didn't resonate with this one, particularly. But I appreciated the authors focused and pointed commentary on race and inherent inequality. It was an important reminder to never assume, and always protect yourself.

This book was lovely and Tittle’s way with words is beautifully done. I just wish I could read more Spanish so I could understand every bit and not just the English and odd words of the rest. That’s not a fault of the author, I love that he incorporated his cultural heritage in the book. It’s a fault of my own. 5 star read!
"So I will take the knife To me—excise these doubts These insecurities And without you But truly me— Be well And truly
Proud of me."
The collection of poetry, Unmuted, by David Andrew Tittle, thrusts us through an array of feelings in finding our raw selves, as we experience the rise and fall of discovery in poems such as “Tribulation,” “Identity,” and “I.C.E.” Though not without its tender moments, action and inaction are reflected within the collection at a time in which both have their repercussions. Unmuted invites us to listen, feel, and come to terms with forthright truths.
