He’s the grumpy bookstore owner. I’m the flirty new bartender. We’re complete opposites… but somehow, he feels like home.
Miles Hale likes things quiet… books, routine, and avoiding the endless gossip of Clover Ridge. The last thing he needs is the town buzzing about his love life, especially when he’s still carrying scars from the past. But when a gorgeous new bartender literally falls into his arms, Miles can’t seem to stay away.
Rory Sullivan came to this small town looking for a fresh start. He didn’t expect to find the broody bookstore owner who makes his heart race every time their eyes meet. Rory’s always been good at making friends, but falling for a man is something entirely new.
Between St. Patrick’s Day festival chaos, nosy townspeople, and one very determined matchmaker, sparks fly fast. But if Miles can’t step out of his comfort zone and learn to trust, they might miss their chance at something real.
Kiss Me for Luck is a small-town MM romantic comedy featuring opposites attract, a grumpy sunshine pairing, forced proximity, meddling family, slow burn kisses, laugh-out-loud moments, and a guaranteed happily ever after.
This one was so sweet and warm! I fell in love with “Miles” instantly!
The reason I gave this 4 stars and not 5 was due to potentially there not being enough editing or proofreading - a few times words were missing or the wrong word entirely had been used which felt like it could’ve been an auto correct mistake that hadn’t been caught!
A few phrases from conversations in the past two books have been reused which I didn’t like - I know it sounds picky but I just felt like it was a bit slack.
The story was so warm, loved the family moments, the past character crossovers and I love that the ending also introduces the characters in the next book- I love a good tie in!
One of the main characters owns a book store, at one point he's reading a new release and complains that the author has lazy writing. OK, but this book has lazy writing through the entire thing. The time line and details don't match with the first book at all, which is referenced MULTIPLE times, one main from each book has the same scar. The story was cute, rushed but cute. I feel if you're going to complain about something in other authors you should probably double check your own work first.
This follows 'Boots for the Billionaire', it can be read alone, each story revolves around one of the Hale brothers, so while this centers on one brother the others are in and out with brief mentions of past interactions. This one is Miles, the middle brother, who is a wee bit shy and rather nervous around the new young barman. Miles so freaking cute in his self doubting and halting approach. It's a sweet story, with some angst thrown in of course.
Gave it 2.75 on StoryGraph; still cute, but becoming quite formulaic? (I can pretty much guess that all five books are going to be meet-cute, insta-love, third act drama/break-up, family intervention, fix-it, engaged?)
I wish this book was longer, and while it's absolutely unrealistic for a story to contain both a bi-awakening and an insta-love trope, it was a cute story with characters I liked. It does need a better editing job though.
