A marriage of convenience, uniting two kingdoms in a brutal, violent world.
Prince Ivan of Norway - fearless Viking warrior and heir to the throne. When he’s not on the battlefield, he’s living the good life and welcoming a different woman or two into his bed each night.
Princess Beatrix of England - brought up to fear and despise the uncivilised Vikings, the dutiful princess hides a quiet strength and a deadly secret behind her cool facade.
It’s a marriage that neither wants, but as children of kings, their desires do not matter. They are pawns in a much larger game.
As a spark ignites between them, their attraction develops into something neither could have imagined.
But when a cry for help comes from her homeland, blood will be spilt and secrets revealed.
A forced marriage, spicy Viking romance with endearing characters and a sweet love story.
“You have captured me. What a fool I was to resist you.” Her hands cupped my face. “Beatrix.” ~Ivan
To strengthen an alliance between the Vikings and the English, Ivan and Beatrix are thrown together in a marriage that neither wants. If you want to read a book with a sweet plot with a bunch of spice thrown in then this is the book for you. Beatrix is a character who has to learn to navigate life in a land that she's been raised to fear and despise. Whereas Ivan has only known a life of his choosing, on the battlefield winning countless victories for his people, and in his bedchamber with a new female or two night after night, while his older brother would have to shoulder any responsibilities. These characters will captivate you, and have you devouring this book in one sitting! If you've already read Book 1 Shared by the Vikings, you'll know these stories are packed with character development, adventure and Spice. Honey Bond does not disappoint with Viking Princess. I can't wait to see what she brings us in Book 3 The Prince and the Viking.
I chose this book because of a summary that described a marriage of convenience between a womanizing Viking prince of Norway and a British princess. I expected a story of opposites learning about each other. Instead the h and H quickly decide to being open to each other within days of meeting and marrying. Much of the book feels like a series of intimate encounters with a little political conflict thrown in (between the h's uncle and her brother). I opted to skim through rather than DNF but nothing really interesting or unexpected happened except that a traitorous spy escaped and no one seemed to care.
The sequel to Shared by the Vikings did not disappoint.
I liked that the MFC in this story was a bit more developed and decisive. I also loved seeing a side character from the first book grow and develop that's some of my favorite world building.
I love a family secret and again that these characters have emotional intelligence which a lack of emotional intelligence is usually what creates the tension and drives stories but this was *chef's kiss* for me. I love a power couple. I love the spice.
I'm excited to see what happens in the third installment 👀
I did really enjoy this one however it was posted in a grovel group on Facebook with the author stating that there is grovelling from the MMC but there was none. Absolutely zero grovel. I don’t even think the FMC thought he needed to grovel either. Or me for that matter. He didn’t do anything that warranted it. They both weren’t keen, then they both were and from then on out it was almost insta-love. That was the only disappointing part for me because I kept expecting the MMC to stuff up so bad that he needed to grovel and it never came.
This was well written and the background was interesting (Vikings, arranged marriage etc). I just felt the character development was a little flat. I wanted more between Ivan and Bea. I knew they were attracted to each other but there wasn't a lot of tension, burn, build up etc.
I'm interested in reading more from this author and I'd love to see more character & plot development.
What a incredible book. I adore both of main characters and story is so beautiful well written too. Author is extremely talented. Five star review. No spoilers review. I highly recommend everyone reads this trilogy now, if you like Viking books. 10 out of 10 experience. Everyone must read now. Enjoy!.
