Watched by Lara Lorens is a very spicy novella featuring human female Sam Conner and alien warrior Takar as they fight like gladiators in an alien reality show. She comes to naked and aided by an octopus being, her assistant who preps her for the battle which no human has ever survived, but Sam has battle training and isn't going down without a fight. Her assistant steals enhancements to help her and uses those tentacles in amazing ways. After surviving round 1, patrons give her gifts and more enhancements in exchange for time spent with her. She and Takar share smoldering looks and much tension that explode in the arena during the final bout between the two. The adventure continues in book 2!

I loved this book, the pace was go, go, go! Our protagonist is fearless and spunky as hell! She goes all in and lives like every day is her last, because it just might be. She has great instincts and a lot of sexual prowess and is not afraid to try new 'things'. I can't wait for the next instalment because I really want to know what happens with Sam and Takar's story.

This story was fast paced, action packed and spicy. I liked how tough and kick ass Sam was, and Steve was sweet. It ended in a huge cliffhanger and I can't wait to read the next book.

Thrown into an arena with a bunch of Alien's, Sam has to do whatever it takes to survive. And she surprises herself with how easily she adapts to the sex and violence of it all. There are some really sweet and strangely romantic scenes too, with her alien escort. But it's Takar who claims her! High heat and big payoff with a cliffhanger that had me running to buy book 2!

I absolutely loved Watched by Lara Lorens! The premise grabbed me from the start, and the mix of action and steamy romance kept me hooked. Tropes I adore—fated mates, instant attraction, and forced proximity—are all handled wonderfully.

The cliffhanger at the end was intense, and I’m excited to look into the next book!

P.S. I usually avoid tentacle scenes, but the author made them surprisingly appealing and worth giving a try!

This does end on a bit of a cliffhanger. This was a good twist of cunning survival and lust. Will definitely be reading the second book.
