What an incredible book and a perfect representation of the principles behind Shokunin. The author delivers each part of the philosophy in such an honest and concise way, without ego or unnecessary fluff. I will likely read this book countless times and apply the philosophy to my career as well as my everyday life. It's about focusing on continuous learning, developing a deep intuitive understanding and having the discipline to master any craft. A humble approach to having high standards for yourself and then passing down what you've learnt to future generations. It has a really nice flow, is digestible and enjoyable to read. I love how Takeshi relates the practices to the modern world and provides real actionable steps for integrating the philosophy into your life. I know a few people who are struggling to find a meaningful career, so have ordered multiple copies to give them - as I feel this book could help them find their paths. The focus is not so much on what the path is but your approach to work and making incremental improvements over many years. It's also about living a meaningful and fulfilling life by enjoying the work you do and moving the needle forward.
