The perfect book to explore the color red in our world. This book creates conversation with preschoolers.

Great photos for the text. Also an extra text box on most pages, containing additional info for those interested in hearing more.

Summary: Text and photographs describe common things that are red, including apples, red licorice, and stop signs.
(English version)

Series: Colors

Other books in the series about the other colors. Only writing this up about this one title but would recommend all the books in the series.

I recommend this books to parents who are looking for books about colors to use with young children. They are great. Beautiful photographs. One sentence per page. The text is in rhyme. If needed, there are fun facts on each page about the object on the page. I would skip those during a story time.

These books might be too short for a preschool story time or I would read 2-3 together along with other stories for the session.

Would be great for a toddler story time.

Good to use with other color books: My Many Colored Days by Dr. Seuss, Brown Bear, Brown Bear by Martin/carle, Red is a Dragon, Mouse Paint, A Color of His Own, etc.

The edition that I read was English only, but there is no record on Goodreads for the English version. I tried the ISBN 0-7368-1471-X. I love this series for teaching colors. The pictures are of common items in the featured color, and you say the color word multiple times in order to reinforce the word/color connection.

I liked this a lot as I could adapt it many age groups. For the babies and toddlers I would use this without the bubbles and then add them in for the preschoolers. A book all about red things where each page has two simple lines about the object and the in a corner a nonfiction fact about that object.

I like this series but the ladybugs in the soup at the end of this one confounds me a bit...
