Wonderland Asylum by Ellis Worth is a taboo dark suspense romance, the first book in The Donovan Brothers Duet.
Anytime I hear 'Step siblings,' I dive in headfirst, and man, oh man, if Kai and Gunner aren’t a fun pair of siblings to play with our step sister, FMC. They are so possessive, a bit unhinged and a touch gentle. I’m not gonna lie, Presley Kate got a bit on my nerves. She is so set in her mind that she wants to rebel against them, and it got a bit repetitive. However, the book, the banter, the story and the mystery are making up for it in ten folds. And yes I mention a mystery, there is a stalker, one that gives dangerous vibes, and I’m so here for THK, i cant wait for book two to find out if my theory is coming true.
Audiobook: This is a Graphic Audio performed full cast by Dani Staro, Caden Hart, Brandon Francis and Ivan Morea. First i would like to shout out to Chris for his amazing editing and sound effects used during this entire book. Second, let’s talk about these amazing voices, each and every one has done a spectacular job bring this characters to life, keeping a great cadence with each other's narration and playing on their character strengths and vulnerabilities. Dani Staro has performed PK to a T, was I frustrated with the decisions the character was choosing, absolutely, but Dani did a spectacular job, bringing her to life and in the end making me love PK. Caden Hart as Gunner, I’m not gonna lie, but boy, him and Ivan Morea as Kai, made my thighs tremble and a bit damp, not from the tears! I promise is a compliment! i cant wait for their characters to go full unhinged, my guess in book two! Now we haven’t heard much from THK, thats is played by Brandon Francis, and if u know me u know I’m a sucker for his voice, and I really hope my theory is correct because why-choose baby!

A full-cast graphic audio in the dark why-choose romance space is an ambitious undertaking, and this production is exceptionally well done. The multiple voice actors bring real energy and personality to the story, the snarky banter is genuinely entertaining, and the immersive background audio makes you feel like a fly on the wall; experiencing everything in surround sound.
Fair warning: spicy scenes in surround sound hit differently. Let’s just say this is not a listen-while-operating-heavy-machinery situation. 🔥
If you’re a reader who enjoys taboo themes, morally gray characters, and high-intensity dynamics, this story leans hard into that lane. I personally felt like I was missing prior context (to the point that I went back to make sure I did not miss a previous book to give me more background), and the story ends on a significant cliffhanger, so readers should go in prepared for unanswered questions. The good news is that the author is already working on Book 2, so those loose ends will (hopefully) be addressed soon.
The plot moves fast and is packed with overlapping elements, with shock value taking center stage. As the story progresses, PK (the FMC) repeatedly makes high-risk decisions; despite escalating danger. This may be frustrating for readers who prefer stronger survival instincts or more grounded character choices. This book is best suited for readers who enjoy constant tension, dark obsession, and characters who act first and think later. And yes- expect very high levels of spice (seriously, heed the heavy-machinery warning).
It’s also important to note that this is not a sweet romance. This is firmly dark romance territory, with numerous trigger warnings. The author explicitly encourages readers to review those warnings before listening, and I strongly recommend doing so. Overall, I can absolutely see why it’s resonating with readers who love dark romance, taboo dynamics, and immersive audio performances. I’d recommend it specifically to fans of chaotic, trope-heavy why-choose stories who are in it for intensity and spice. 🔥

Wonderland Asylum: The Donovan Brothers Vol 1 is a taboo step sibling romance with a masked stalker on the loose. This story was a crazy wild ride full of twists, turns, laugh out loud banter, high emotions, and masked men. The MMC's Gunner and Kai Donovan, are a beautiful deadly combination wrapped in sin, mystery, and secrets. These men will literally take out any man who dare touch their beloved step sister Presley Kate and believe me many do try! Gunner and Kai are what spicy fantasies are made of and the type of men your parents warn you about. Let's face it, what girl can resist these two men who lurk in every corner and will always have you surrounded! Our FMC, Presley Kate, aka PK, is the literal definition of "DEFIANCE", with her obsessive need to rid herself of her virginity for once and for all! This girl craves her step brothers to her core, but feels she needs to find someone else to fulfill her needs despite her warnings she's given. What she doesn't know is this mission of her's may become impossible! Not only do her step brothers challenge her every move, but so does the mysterious masked man stalking her. The questions that remain are who will win PK's heart and will the masked man be revealed!
Narrators Dani Staro (PK), Ivan Morea (Kai), Caden Hart (Gunner), and Brandon Francis (TKOH) gave an outstanding performance with this graphic audio. They brought the high energy, sinful allure, and banter to keep me glued to my headphones! The sound effects incorporated were precise and on point! They were so real, I literally screamed while listening and startled my coworkers. Haha oops! Thank you Ellis Worth for a fantastic ALC opportunity!

Wonderland Asylum is a working facility for those who are deemed to be mentally incapable of functioning in the world without professional help. The Donovan brothers work there along with their stepsister, Presley Kate (PK). Gunner is the boss, while both Kai and PK go to college and work at the asylum. PK is secretly in love with both of her stepbrothers. She craves them. However, she realizes a relationship would be impossible and decides that she wants to finally move from under their protective hold over her and start living the ultimate college life. She wants to experience relationships and dating.
Both Gunner and Kai decided the moment they met their sister years ago that she would be theirs. They realized that they needed to let her grow up and experience life before they made her theirs. They watch over her closely and protect her. No one will touch what is theirs.
There is a serial killer in town stealing the hearts of victims and leaving the bodies on the property of the asylum. In addition to this, PK has a secret admirer who goes by TKOH and the notes they leave her are gradually escalating in their intensity. Unsure of who to trust, she finally turns to her stepbrothers for help.
This graphic audio blew me away with its production quality. Normally, I am not a fan of sounds or music added to an audiobook as these usually distract me from the storyline. This was not the case at all with this book. In fact, the timing was perfect and the sounds only added to the overall affect. Absolutely fantastic!
The voice actors were amazing. There are many plot twists and turns as well as high emotional drama. The narrators were so in tune with the characters; I was able to get lost in the story.
I recommend this novel for mature audiences only due to sexual content and violence. I recommend the reader pay close attention to the trigger warnings prior to listening.

This book is so captivating that you’ll find yourself flipping pages like it's a race. Seriously, it’s a must-read—guaranteed to keep you hooked with its wild vibes, masked characters, and that delightful line about being a little mad.
Ms. Worth has created a chaotic world that pulls you in, and by the end, you'll be feeling a mix of cheers and boos. The heroine faces a laundry list of challenges while waiting on her men, and you might find yourself exasperated at her misadventures.
I can’t wait for the sequel to see how the plot thickens and what happens after that shocking cliffhanger! If you enjoy engaging tales with strong characters, a sprinkle of mystery, and some steamy moments, you’ll want to grab this book right away.

This book was absolutely amazing and made me feral! The Donovan brothers are exquisite creatures. All brawn and protective. They were everything. I loved the nod to Alice in Wonderland and all the little Easter eggs throughout. It was definitely fun and added so much to the story. I did do the graphic audio and my god it was chefs kiss. Between Ivan Morea and Caden Hart, and all the moans and thrusting, I was about to lose my damn mind. Even Dani Staro had me gasping and blushing, telling myself I swear I like men lol. Puddle worthy performances for sure. All together I loved the story line, the spice was spicing, the narrators killed it! I absolutely highly recommend but you gotta check out the audio too!

Wow, this graphic audiobook was my first experience in this format and Oml it blew me away!!!! From the very start, I was completely hooked. The combination of visuals and a full cast was absolutely captivating. Each character came to life in a way that made the story even more engaging. And let me tell you, the spicy scenes? They really brought the heat! It added a whole new layer to the story that kept me coming back for more. I couldn’t put it down! However that ending with that cliffhanger at…!!! Seriously, "Who the heck is TKOH?!" Book 2 can’t come fast enough! Overall, this was an amazing experience, and I’d highly recommend this graphic audiobook to anyone looking for something fresh and exciting.

The full cast and background effects made everything feel intense and immersive, especially the chemistry between PK, Gunner, and Kai. Add in the secret admirer, the serial killer, and all that obsessive tension, and I was locked in. It is dark, messy, and very spicy, so definitely check the trigger warnings. That cliffhanger absolutely stressed me out, but I am invested now. Rude. I need book two immediately.

Ellis Worth never ceases to amaze me, she quickly became one of my favorite authors after I read Lost Boyz Inc. Her writing keeps getting better and better. I've been waiting for her to put a book like this one out. The chemistry between Presley Kate, Daddy Gunner and Kai was off the charts! I love PK' personality and attitude. The spice was spicing. Check your TW's.

This book covers a lot of my favorite tropes. Masked men ✔️, step brothers ✔️, mysterious admirer ✔️, and it has a wonderland theme, which is one of my favorite classics. I tore through this book and I think you will too.
