MONTANA RANCH HIDEOUT by Julie Arnold is the magnificent, adrenaline-pumping story of Ruby Laurier and Jude “Dex” Dexter. To be a trial witness that would finally find justice for her mother’s murder years earlier, Ruby has to stay alive! Dex’s bound and determined to keep her safe, even when he doesn’t know why or from what, while wondering if he dares trust a woman again that’s full of secrets.

Ruby Laurier is actually Isadora de la Cruz, FBI agent. Having barely survived the deliberate fire that killed her mother, Isadora spent all of her adult life training and working towards bringing the man down that killer her mother and got away from it. After years, she’d finally gotten enough evidence to bring the man to trial. In doing so, she might as well be marked with target. Entering in the World Protection Program, she took on the name Ruby and moved far away working as a rookie ranch hand at the Dexler Acres Ranch. She’d finally found a place she felt at home including a little boy named Oliver that she loves. Then danger came looking for her.

Dex took over the ranch so his parent could retire. He’s always loved the ranch. There’s no other place he would rather be. He always knew there was more to Ruby than she was telling. He admired how fast she picked things up, her hard work and her spunk. After having been badly burned by a woman he loved from the secrets she kept, being lied to or truths withheld is something he can’t abide in. However, when he saw that Ruby was in danger, he automatically knew he would do everything within his power to protect her while protecting Oliver, his nephew he’s responsible for until his sister can straightened her life out.

When danger arrives on the ranch and Ruby finds her contact, the one that’s suppose to get her to safety, had been compromised, she knows she’s on her own. She won’t put Dex or Oliver in danger. Will she be able to survive to testify? Can Dex get his mind and heart to come together in understanding that sometimes you just have to act and trust that if you knew the truth, you’d be making the right decision? Dare they even dream of a future together? Or will history repeat itself?

MONTANA RANCH HIDEOUT is a masterly crafted story in the belief that justice prevails, where romance blooms, and is an unputdownable book once you start reading. Julie Arnold, in this debut novel, brings us a story of working hard, staying focused, forgiveness, danger, hope, desperation, doing what’s right, blind trust, romance, and wraps it all in a wonderful thread of faith. MONTANA RANCH HIDEOUT is most definitely a FIVE-STAR book and I highly recommend it to everyone!

I received an ARC of this book with no requirement or expectations of a review. All opinions are completely my own.
