Tharien is beautiful, cunning, and far more dangerous than he first appears. He claims he’s here to protect me. That I’ve been hunted for lifetimes. That the prophecy I tried to bury is stirring again.

I need to escape.
I need to get back to Kaelith.
But the longer I stay… the more the stars remember me.
And the more I begin to remember them.

✨📖 Review: Bound By Moonlight by Melanie Davies 🌙🦊

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (6 if I could because WOW 🔥)

“They burned the world to be together. Now she’s vanished without a trace…” 👀

Book two of the Marked by Fate and Flame series wrecked me in the BEST way. Torn from Kaelith’s side, our girl wakes in a realm that shouldn’t even exist—where time twists, secrets fester, and fate refuses to let her go. Her bond with the Demon King has fallen silent. He has no idea where she is. But someone else does.

Enter Tharien. Beautiful. Cunning. Dangerous. Protector. 🦊✨
He claims he’s here to keep her safe. That she’s been hunted for lifetimes. That the prophecy she buried is rising again. And let me just say… after this book, I am 1000% Team Tharien 🫣🙌🏻. The slow burn tension? Off the charts. The bond between them? Soul-deep. The way he is both fierce and heartbreakingly gentle with her? Ugh. Everything Tharien. He’s my guy.

And then there are the quotes that destroyed me:

💫 “I studied her face. Human. Softened by this life, yes. But the soul beneath? I would recognise that spark across a thousand lifetimes.”

🔥 “Because,” he said, his voice dropping into something rough and unshakeable, “I would rather ache for you in every life than forget you in even one.”

…Tell me how I’m supposed to recover from THAT?! 🥹

This book gave me:
🌌 A realm dripping with secrets & starlight
🦊 A protector who’s as dangerous as he is tender
🔥 A Demon King left in the dark (and I’m low-key sorry Kaelith, but Tharien owns me now)
💔 Fate, prophecy, and lifetimes of longing

If you love romantasy with slow burn ache, fated mates, and morally grey protectors who ruin you forever, Bound By Moonlight is your next obsession.

📚✨ Have you read Claimed by Fire yet? Because you need to before diving into this one!

Such a beautiful and heartbreaking story. 5/5 stars (though it's definitely more than that)

The writing is so beautiful, that the whole time I felt like I was in a dream - warm, soft, cozy and peaceful. However it was laced with strings of pain, grief, lost love and life, endings and secrets, which threaten to unravel. The story itself was so amazing, I couldn't stop reading it. I love author's writing style, cause it made me feel all the smells, sounds and tastes described here.

My heart was absolutely stolen by Tharien. This perfect, beautiful man, who endured so much pain, sorrow, grief, loss, who's dreams were always slipping through his fingers no matter how fierce he fought for it broke my heart and then melded it again. This kind hearted, selfless, warm and patient man waited and lived for centuries in hopes of finally reaching his love. His story was truly heartbreaking, made me weep and want to give him the biggest hug. He deserves all the love and warmth, and so much more. I'm starting to think that he's becoming my favourite of them all. And all that longing and yearning! Oh god, my heart couldn't handle it. He didn't rush, he didn't push or pressure her with his feelings. No, he patiently waited for her, guided her and guarded her heart, body and soul with everything that he has.

Elora in this book was thrusted in strange world, but still somehow so familiar and welcoming. However, all the time she was battling not only the feelings for the dangerously alluring and devilishly handsome captor, but also because all that she knew wasn't the whole picture. So all of those secrets, hidden and forgotten truths made so much more mess and chaos in her mind. All the confusion, all the revelations and she came to the same conclusion over and over again - she felt safe, loved and cherished by Tharien, even if she didn't want to. It was interesting, but sometimes also difficult to watch her go through everything, to try to step forward only to go back several steps again and again and again.

The ending left me curious and at the same time angry, cause that M - I don't like him. At all. Even though he wields shaddows, it's not helping him in this case, but we'll see, maybe he'll have a redemption arc.

So again, I have to say that this book was truly a gem, a masterpiece, where I lost myself in this world, cried and laughed with the characters, felt their deep, true and strong love. I will definitely be thinking about this book for a long time.

Wow, what a read this was. I thought I loved Kael, but Tharian is just beautiful, and I fell in love with him in this book. The heartbreak he's been through and still fighting for love. Hearing him talk about his life was so heartbreaking but made me love him more. The spice was just divine. What a cliffhanger to end on !!!!!

3.25 ⭐️

This instalment was definitely much spicier than the first, which isn’t entirely a bad thing, but perhaps not quite for me at this time.

I did enjoy the story, and Tharien grew on me toward the end, however, I think with the end goal being 5 mean may be a little too much for me.

Still an entertaining read with some beautiful world descriptions, I can say! So that’s a positive.

Bound By Moonlight is the continuation of Elora’s journey through love, fate, and power, and introduces us to a new character: Tharien, the sexy fox. Melanie Davies weaves a story that is equal parts passion and heartbreak, where every choice feels weighted by lifetimes of longing and betrayal. Tharien’s devotion, Kael’s fury, and Elora’s awakening make for a love triangle that is messy, magnetic, and unforgettable. You never quite know if they’re going to kiss, fight, or destroy the world together—and that’s what makes it so addictive.
Even though I found the first third of the book more descriptive than active, since we had to get to know the realm of Helvryn, that changed quickly, and by the end of it, the book left me with the ache of unfinished business, of hearts tied together across lifetimes and realms but never able to find peace. It’s romance, yes—but also tragedy, myth, and resilience.
This book is basically Rachel shouting: “It’s not that common, it doesn’t happen to every guy, and it IS a big deal!” Because what Elora is caught up in isn’t just love drama—it’s fate-level chaos.

5/5 stars, 10/10 reading experience, no notes.

But, I'm here to write a review, so;

Book 2 in the Marked by Fate and Flame series stole my heart, broke it and healed it all at the same time. Torn from Kael's side, Elora wakes up in a realm that is unreachable by everyone else. Forests are alive, secrets are everywhere and fate won't let her go. Well fate in the form of a Fox.

My Fox, the wonderful Tharien, beautiful, cunning, a protector. He tells Elora he's keeping her safe, that she's been hunted more times than she can remember. That she has no idea how many times they've done this dance, and it's all worth it to have her, see her, love her. I was Team Kael all the way, I like my men dark and full of shadows, after this book I find myself drawn to Tharien. The bond they have? Unbreakable. The tension? You could cut it with a knife. How could I deny someone who has had his heartbroken so much and yet still carries on?

A quote that killed me? "I'd rather ache for you in every life than forget you in even one"

How am I expected to not want him after that?!

The world building is exceptional and the entire realm felt like somewhere you would go to escape and feel safe (I know that's the point) but to be able to see it, feel it, feel like you're part of it, is the sign of the perfect story.

I cannot wait to see where we end up next, that epilogue?! YES tell me everything.

And finally don't tell anyone, but I have cried a couple of times at this book.

❁My Review:

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟|5 STARS!!

Where Do I EVEN BEGIN FROM!!? The book started from where it ended in book 1 aka Claimed By Fire where Elora was torn from Kael's side and thrusted into a realm that wasn't suppose to exist... That was hidden from other realms. And I absolutely loved everything about Helvryn!! The world building was unique and was written beautifully! I would say the book was spicer then first one.

I think i loved book 2 more than book 1!

And Tharien.
Holy! The man he is.
Cunning, Sly, Dangerous but alluring, Selfless Yet also Gentle and Patience.
I be honest in the beginning and end of book 1 i didn't liked him much but the way this man grew on me!! I absolutely loved Tharien. The pain, loss and sorrow he been through lifetimes.. This book made me cry many times...
And The way Tharien devotion was for Elora despite she have broke his heart many Times, The way He was so patience with her like not pressing her for feelings or remembering him, but also he was fiercely protective of her... The way he guided her and provided her a strong and steady presence and the yearning and longing between the two. I am so sorry Kaelith he might have stolen my heart 🥹
But i still love Kaelith!! I love both of them!
And Elora!! I absolutely loved her in this one aswell! The way she was so strong and Selfless and her devotion to Kaelith but also her growing feelings for Tharien and all those secrets and past lives and finally discovering herself like i absolutely loved that.
And THAT CLIFFHANGER!! I cannot wait for the third book but lemme be honest i don't know if i liked the third guy but maybe he have a redemption we will see...

Spoilers perhaps??

★Favorite quotes:

• “there is no undoing it. No forgetting. We don’t just choose for a season or a lifetime. We choose until death… and beyond. And I chose you, Elora. I have always chosen you.”

• “I am and always have been deeply, madly, in love with you.”

• “I would rather ache for you in every life than forget you in even one.”

• I wondered if she had any idea how dangerous that look was, the way she could undo me without even trying.

• “You could never look a mess to me,”
“You will always be beautiful.”

Thank you so much Melanie for letting me part of the arc reader for this book!! I am very grateful!

This is book 2 in Melanie Davie’s new paranormal romance ‘marked by flame and fate’ and going on how book 1 drew us into this new world, and had set our heart alight by not the only the story but the visually imagery that makes you a apart of the story you know that book 2 is going to give you more of what you crave.

My heart was broke from the ending of book 1 and you do go into this a certain mindset, but I can honestly say that your mindset will be blown away as what Melanie does is brings us another part of the story and another piece of Elora gets unwrapped. Secrets that remain hidden in the inner depths start to unwind, its a story in a sense of soul searching, awakening, of how love never dies and is ever lasting. This story is heartbreak, love and all the in-between of understanding that so much more is going on

Melanie’s writing is always on point, and she has such a powerful way of bringing the story to us, what I mean is that she intertwines the story into our mind that you feel fully emersed into the pages.

Melanie Davies is back again with book 2 of the Marked by Flame and Fate series. Bound by Moonlight is an adventurous fantasy romance with plenty of angst, passion, and twists. The story follows the MCs Elora and Tharien. I luved the yurning and build up between these two. Such a great slow burn. The plot twists, turns, and secrets also kept me guessing. This series is starting to heat up and I can't wait for the next book. If you are looking for an angsty, slow burn romantasy make sure to add this series to your tbr.

OMG what's going on here? I was so in love with the first book, and then here comes this one, and BAM! you pushed me even farther into the intensity of this already amazing story.
just when you fall in love with Elora and Kaelith, she's pulled into another world and Tharien is there with all his love and patience for her. even though she has no memory of him.
She finds herself being pulled towards him even though she's got Kaelith. The struggle is real.
this was an absolutely beautifully, well written story, and i can't wait for the next book. I need to know what happens! ❤️

I found this second book better then the first: the small flaws I'd noted, such as excessive repetition an d pagina distrutte by costant pov changes, aren't present making it smoother and more enjoyable.
The story is compelling and the ending another scream like cliffhanger.
It'sacshamet about the first 100 pages, where far too little happens

This is book 2 of the Marked by Flame and Fate series on wow another fantastic writing of Elora’s journey through love, fate, and power, and introduces us to a new character: Tharien oh Tharien well what can I say I thought Kael‘s character was the best but Tharien oh foxy foxy foxy you have stolen my heart.

The love triangle it’s messy, it’s alluring, is magnetic it’s unforgettable a well written mixture of devotion, determination, anger, discovery that makes this a can’t put it down book I need to know is it going to be a fight a kiss or outright destruction.

If you love romantasy with slow burn ache, fated mates, and morally grey protectors who ruin you forever, Bound By Moonlight is your next obsession.

Bound by Moonlight is book 2 in the Marked by Flame and Fate series, and I think I loved it even more than the first one!

This book begins right where the first book left off: Elora is torn from Kaelith's side and thrust into a realm hidden from all others, one that shouldn't even exist. Where the forest is alive and draped in stars and moonlight, time is warped and twisted, and more secrets and truths are revealed! The writing and worldbuilding were incredible, immersive, and unique! I loved everything about the not-so-mythical realm of Helvryn!

Tharien, the man that you are! Where do I even start?! He was an amazing, beautiful character! Cunning, sly, powerful. Dangerously alluring. Selfless. A protector. The pain, loss, sorrow, and grief he had to endure over literal lifetimes broke my heart! He waited centuries for his love, even after continuously losing her. His devotion to Elora is truly unbreakable and has set the new standard for book boyfriends to meet! I love how he didn't push or pressure her with his feelings. He was so patient, providing her with a steady, anchoring presence; guiding her, all whilst protecting her in body, heart, and soul! I wasn't sure if I would love him as much as Kaelith, but he absolutely stole my heart!🥹😍😭

I loved Elora in this book as well! Considering all the secrets revealed, past lives uncovered, her love and devotion to Kaelith clashing with her feelings for Tharien - I think she handled everything remarkably well. She is so strong and selfless. I also loved her discovering and coming into her power in this book!

The training scenes between Elora and Tharien were a definite highlight! The longing and yearning were next level! And the cliffhanger ending has left me with so many questions and a desperation to read the next book!

Tropes:
🩵 Past lives & fated mates
🩵 Why choose
🩵 Enemies to lovers
🩵 Forced proximity
🩵 Slow burn
🩵 Forbidden love
🩵 Protective MMC
🩵 Touch her & die
🩵 Only one bed
🩵 Loyalty vs love
🩵 War on the horizon

Favourite quotes:
✨️I'd thought I knew what loyalty was. I'd thought I understood love. But here was a man, a creature, who had shaped his entire existence around the hope of finding me again. Not once. Not twice. But through the slow, relentless turning of centuries."✨️

✨️"I would rather ache for you in every life than forget you in even one."✨️

✨️But I want what you want as well - to find her. To find the girl who burns through lives as if each were only a page to be turned."✨️

I was very intrigued going in... Book 1 gripped my attention from beginning to end. It was such an enjoyable read and this book gave me more. It was filled with such love, heartache, anguish, secrets, unrelenting truths. I feel into every twist and turn. The world description is so fascinating. But what stole my breath was how you reach the end not realizing it because Melanie Davies fills the suspenseful parts to the brim. It doesnt leave you stranded... You are given a hint of whats to come...Making the hunger for book 3 unbearable
You wont expect what happens in the end... Her imagination paints a fascinating journey.

Elora has me feeling a mixture of emotions... I cant even say who she should pick, because somehow at the end, im just as confused. Her love is ruin... But its still LOVE.

I thought the first book was my favorite, then Mel does it again and now I’m even more in love with this series. It just keeps getting better and better. Elora has been “captured” by a sly nine tail fox shifter named Tharien. He is keeping her hidden in the world he has made for outcast that no one can find. The perfect place to hide and keep Elora safe. Tharien has watched Elora live and die in every life that she has lived. His heart can’t take it anymore and he has to have her back. She doesn’t remember her life as a goddess or her life she had with him, but with his help and guidance she will slowly remember that part of her life. It what about the man she left behind? Kael, he will do nothing to stop him from getting his wife back.. Never wanted this book to end.

I received this book as an arc for an honest review

Of course another amazing read by Melanie.

This book for me really opened up a lot about elora, which I loved because you get to know her more and you get to see her through Tharien eyes and eloras memories.

I won’t say too much, one thing I kinda got annoyed at was Eloras constant repeating of the same thing..but other than that this book was another favorite.

I fell in love with Tharien our fox, you get to know more and more about him the more you read which I love it’s kinda like each chapter you unlock more and more information which kept me going.

Elora does grow more in this book too, especially when she learns more about herself and who she was or is with him.

This is the second book in the series which I had to jump into straight away following the first. This has a beautiful story of Elora continuing her journey to find out who she is. This story follow Elora after she has been taken to another realm where she is exploring her magic and her connection further. Alongside the demon king trying to find her to get her back! Really enjoyed this book and even as a non fantasy reader felt the story had so much involved within it without being a huge lengthy fantasy! Well done Melanie Davies great book and I can’t wait for the third one to come out.
