What did you eat at your last meal? Can you recall the flavor, the aroma, the temperature, the texture? Could you describe it in detail? If any of the specifics of that meal elude you now, then you were probably eating mindlessly.
We’ve all experienced mindless eating. Engaging in conversation during dinner, snacking while engrossed in a movie, or simply rushing through a meal to get to where we need to be can’t always be avoided. But by understanding the principles and practices of mindful eating, we can apply them when possible and enjoy our eating experiences that much more.
Carrie Dennett, a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN), shares the evidence behind mindful eating and, more important, the tools you need for incorporating this practice into your life. Over six lessons, Carrie will introduce you to the concept of mindfulness, while helping you tune into your internal cues for hunger and satiety. She also will help you to establish a mindful eating practice, identify challenges to mindful eating, and examine how eating mindfully can also help you eat more nutritiously.
As you master the practice of mindful eating, you’ll be stunned at your awareness of how satisfying food is and how delicious it tastes.

My thoughts: This book had a lot of good ideas, but overall it was a little boring. Although the exercises were slightly enjoyable I don't think mindful eating is something I would want to do all the time because I just want to enjoy my food I rarely mindlessly eat so I think I'm good.
Recommend to others: Maybe. This isn't for everyone but you may not be aware of the issue.
Very helpful in understanding overeating. Better than dieting. I do not think it would cure compulsive overeating, but it would be a general help in that case if the person is already abstinent.
There is regular meditation in each lesson.
I will probably listen to this audio course again.
