The dragons on Draig Island are not your run-of-the-mill kind. They’re something else entirely…
Harlow
I never wanted to come to this stupid island I most certainly never wanted to be a dragon rider. To go anywhere near a dragon, for that matter.
My plan was to survive Sky's Edge, then to fail to bond with a dragon, so that I could get the hell off Draig Island. Back to my old life. Back to normal. Then he walks in the door, and everything is turned upside down and inside out. The new Academy leader is everything I didn’t know I wanted. All that hard muscle, those tats and an attitude to match.
Any kind of contact with him outside of training is completely forbidden. Besides, he isn’t interested in me in that way. He’s made that crystal clear, so we’re all good. The funny thing is that I don’t even like him. I’m sure this unwanted attraction will go away. It has to.
Drake
I can’t keep my eyes off her. I can’t seem to stop my wayward, dirty-as-hell thoughts every time I’m near her. Harlow Santos is a distraction I don’t want or need.
I’m a rule follower. I do things by the book. Going anywhere near her would be against every rule in every damned book. But, hard as I try, I can’t seem to stay away, even with so much hanging in the balance.
This story contains mature themes/language.Also, be prepared for a ton of growls, dirty talk and a hard-won HEA. Hulking, skulking, foul-mouthed, brooding dragons ahead. You were warned! Each book follows a different couple.
Charlene lives on an acre in the country with her husband, three children and an array of pets including a snake. In her spare time you can usually find her typing away franticly on the computer completely lost in worlds of her making. She is an avid believer that it is the small things that truly matter like the feeling you get when you start reading a new book or a particularly beautiful sunset. Charlene likes to write bite stories her readers can sink their teeth into. Sign up for her latest release newsletter for more information http://mad.ly/signups/96708/join
Burning in Fire is the next book in the Dragon Tributes series and takes us back to Draig🙌
Councillor Drake is recruited to be the leader of the Tributes when the last person appointed to the position is released due to improper behaviour with a Tribute. When Drake makes a secondary mind bond with Harlow, things go a little pear shaped - firstly, with the rider he’s had for the last 3 years and then because of his attraction to Harlow😳
Fantastic story and I can’t wait for the next book in this series😍 I received an advanced copy and voluntarily leave my honest review.
A simply wonderful read, dragons on Draig island continue and are again riveting reading This is the next book in what has been a simply wonderful read and I am able to say that other readers will be as captivated by this book and the story and characters that are within its pages and am able to say that this is a simply wonderful read. Councillor Drake is recruited to be the leader of the Tributes and when the last person was appointed to this position after the individual that was in this position had been released because of him actually having an improper relationship with a Tribute. However, when Drake makes a secondary mind bond with the Tribute Harlow Santos, he had known that this put him in a very difficult position and to make things worse he finds it very difficult to concentrate with the rider he had for the past three years. I will not spoil the plot of the way in which Blake a man used to follow the rules at all times is now in a very difficult situation and so he has to consider things very carefully but where Harlowe is concerned it is important things be taken as slowly as possible. I guarantee that readers will be captivated by this addition to the series, it is a truly wonderful addition to the series. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the wonderful writing.
Book 9 in the Dragon Tributes takes place on Draig Island . Harlow a tribute and Drake a Councilor doing double duty as the head of flight school end up forming a mind link ! But that’s not all that forms . Against all the rules and their own protestations, they become involved, harrowing red dragon raids cause the 2 of them to become closer than allowed, but theirs a spy at flight school and with it being down to 5 riders, a person thought of as a friend sabotages Harlow’s life and possible Drake’s career . This is one of the hottest of the 9 books so far, and while Drake likes to blame his possessiveness on his dragon.. as Scar says “you and your dragon are 1 entity”! Things get much worse for them before the “I love you’s” are spoken. This is a must read if you like dragon shifters, and while it could possibly be read as a standalone, they are much better understood and appreciated by reading them in order. 5✨’s for a perfectly crafted PNR/UF.
I absolutely love Harlow and Drake! I am really glad that we went back to the Tributes, Skys Edge, and mind bonding. This series has an overarching storyline that is interesting but it was the Tributes and the mind bonding that pulled me in and I have been missing that over the last few books!
Harlow is average. She is strong but has insecurities just like anybody else! Drake is a dunderhead at times but I love the fact that he is the first one to admit his feelings, not just to himself but to Harlow! The twists in this story intriging as we have not experienced the situation that Harlow and Drake go through in any of the other Dragon Tribute stories! As always Charlene Hartnady adds steam and spice that keep you coming back for more! I can't wait for Grim's story (you'll understand why after you read this story)!
Almost all of Charlene Hartnady’s books are stellar but some of her best work are her enemies to lovers shifter novels of which this is one though it’s an entirely separate series. I have to admit I have a definite weakness for alpha a**holes who eventually crumble for their lady loves like 10 year old stale cookies. Our male main character in this story Drake is a prime example of that and Charlene Hartnady definitely brings the chemistry and tension between him and his rider Harlow. If you are a fan of and like the “enemies to lovers” kind of dynamic then this is the book for you!
I think this is the best one so far. The suspense, the twists and turns. I loved the fact that in this book the characters were so real; their passion their anger even their self doubt. The author gave her characters such true feelings, it just brought them to life for me and it made them truly relatable. I liked that training scenes weren't all the same as the other books it shows evolution (because even in books the world has to grow and evolve)😋 The only thing I didn't like was that there's not really any new information about what is going on with the mainland. I want to know the who-what-when-&-how (I'm impatient so sue me.)

This is a top series that has developed through both of the dragon islands & the mainland but this time we’re back on Draig Island. It brings back characters that haven't been prominent in the last few books so that was a treat for me. I am really enjoying how the dragons are finding out what has been going on and how they are now discovering that they have been deceived into thinking the others were the bad ones. It is so rare when you get a top class series like this one as I always look forward to the next one.
Harlow is a tribute training to be a dragon rider she’s the last one of the group that needs to finish sky’s edge Avery scaring obstacle course. They have a new head of their training and he’s not going to see another human die. So Harlow slips and starts to fall and Drake shifts to save her. It’s against the rules for a unbound dragon to shift. But that’s where they’re trouble starts. So find out that their are crooked dragon shifter that are in bed with the mainland government. So enjoy the read and see where this leads!!
I love this series, the differences between the two islands are captivating and I don’t know who’s side I’m on!!! This story was great with the hero becoming so protective so quickly and he really seems at a loss to understand his own actions. I loved how he was trying so hard to hold everything together for so long before realising she was his mate. I received an ARC and this is my honest review.
I really am enjoying this whole series, and look forward to seeing where it goes. Especially with the introduction of new supernatural creatures. But my one critique is present in every book, several times in each book, and it's where the characters "widen their eyes" at the weirdest moments. Maybe it's just me, but it irks me a little lol. Outerwise, 5 stars. Can't wait for more.
Drake has aspirations to be a Council member and to change things for the better for Tributes and Dragon folk alike. He is laser focused on his mission. The problem is that he is missing some of the things that are going on around him. Drake is hilarious in his denial of a bond that happens out of nowhere. This was entertaining and has a sweet ending. Read On!
Loved it, the steps ppl take to get what they want but this time it backfired... Love how things work out for Drake and Harlow. Now Draig clan has someone on the Council who has new found ideas to make things better for the new Tribune in the near future...
An absolute wonderful story! Harlow and Drake were awesome characters and I loved watching their relationship develop! A lot of twists in here that kept me riveted and turning the pages! A great addition to this fantastic series. Very highly recommend! This is my honest opinion of this complimentary copy of this book
Charlene Hartnady is one of my favorite authors and her books NEVER disappoint! This is an surprising addition to this series! This is Harlow and Drake's story and it's a wonderful addition to this series! I read an advanced copy of this book and this is my unbiased review!
Another awesome book by Charlene Hartnady. I couldn't put this book done. Actually the whole series I couldn't put down reading. Off to the next book of this awesome series..
What happened to the rest of the characters from the other books??? They were not even mentioned in this book what a disappointment. Anyway it was a good book and the spy and crooked council member was found. Yeah!
What a twist, I have the feeling that Jordyn was not all that good, but that a traitor I didn’t think of that, for all the love she shows toward Harlow, wow
This is a real spicy fantasy read. It has a unique magic system that I really liked. It's fast pace & keeps you wanting to turn the page. I recommend it.
This was another super fun book in The Dragon Tributes series. It has everything I enjoy in this universe: emotion, drama, intrigue, and another couple with a really strong connection. I loved the chemistry between the main characters.
The spice felt just right for the story — still hot and engaging without taking away from the plot. This series is long, but every book continues to be entertaining and easy to read. It’s the kind of story you pick up when you just want to relax and have fun.
For me, this series works like a perfect reading detox: dragons, shifters, romance, adventure, and guaranteed entertainment.
I definitely recommend it and I’m excited to keep reading the next books. 🐲🔥❣️
