Wilder in Montana: Silo Springs Ranch Book 2

Rate this book
Chris Cole is a retired Special Forces Green Beret, ranch owner, and single dad--a widower with no interest in second chances. At forty-five, he's got his hands full raising two little girls and managing Silo Springs. The emptiness in his chest is familiar, and he's made peace with it.

Until a new hire walks into his life.

He's taking a risk bringing a woman onto his team, but this "cowboy" from Texas has a resume too impressive to ignore, and when she shows up, she's not what he expected. Spurs on her boots, a hat no one dares touch--she's all fire and grit. But while she's hell on wheels with the attitude of a gunslinger, she's got a face that could knock a man on his ass. And when she calls him "Boss," it's all he can do to look the other way. It’s only the boys in the bunkhouse he needs to worry about, he can keep his hands in his pockets. At least that’s what he tells himself.

The prologue had me in tears, and I could not put the book down. The characters are real; the emotions are at the surface and buried deep. Chris is a grumpy widower, single dad, who has done his time in the military, but has settled in as a rancher to raise his girls.

The ranch hires some new help and it comes in the form of a spunky Texan cowgirl named Dixie. Chris’ attraction he felt was long buried, awakens.

First cattle move and an accident has Chris and Dixie in close proximity. The two get to know each other better, and his girls love her.

I love how two people who are not looking for love, in a short amount of time cannot live without the other. They both needed each other to heal. Silo Springs Ranch and its families have pulled me in, and I cannot wait to return.

Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

✨ARC REVIEW✨

4.5⭐️

THIS. BOOK!!!!! oh my gosh!!!!!! I DEVOURED IT!

Chris and Dixie were absolute perfection. Add in Evie and Addie and the whole story made my heart melt.

I love a good single dad, cowboy romance and this book delivered in every. freakin. aspect. Add in a little dislike to lovers, boss x employee situation and you got yourself A DANG GOOD BOOK!

but not only was the banter top notch, the chemistry, the love and THE HEALING was off the charts. I could not get enough of Chris and Dixie.

“It feels like I’m home—like she’s my second chance and I’m never letting her f***ing go.”

“And somehow I feel whole, for the first time in my entire life, I’m not empty.”

These two😭 they both had been through their fair share of trauma which just allowed them to grow closer to one another. Chris and Dixie truly helped each other heal and become who they were always meant to be. They understood each other on a deeper level and let their love take root and grow like wildflowers.

“I’ll always be your dreamcatcher, baby. Nothing touches what’s mine.”

“I gaze over at the three of them and it solidifies once and for all, that if my life hinges on destiny—then Dixie Wilder was always part of the puzzle.”

ugh I might cry. This book was so beautifully written and I couldn’t fall in love with Chris and Dixie more if I tried. 🫶🏼

“The only man on earth who could kick down the fence I’d built around me, and then become the fence himself. I need nothing but him now. He’s my defender, my protector, my lifeline when I can’t do it alone. I didn’t know I could love anyone at all, let alone the way I love him…”

“I fell in love with you the moment I saw you. I wanted you the moment I saw you. And I want you forever, Dixie.”

beautiful, absolutely beautiful 😭thank you Mallory for this ARC. I cannot wait to see what’s next ❤️

Arc Review
First off I would like to thank Mallory for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Dixie Wilder & Chris Cole
Oh boy! Y'all this book definitely starts off hard, like I literally read the prologue and was sobbing before I finished it. I absolutely felt my heart & soul breaking for both these characters. I wanted to wrap them both in a tight hug and protect them from the world. I absolutely adore this one and can't put into words how much. I love Dixie and her bada$$ self. She is such an inspiration and to take everything she went through and use that as fuel to become this warrior in her own life was beautiful. I enjoyed watching her bond with Evie & Addie and just accept them as a package deal. I love Chris and his grumpy closed off self. I love how he put his kids first and fought to give them the life they deserved, I enjoyed that he wasn't afraid to be vulnerable. Watch them both work through their trauma and grief and help the other heal and grow was such a beautiful and refreshing thing to witness.

5/5 Recommend this book. Y'all Mallory really put me through the ringer with this one, I was crying and laughing and swooning the whole time and just overall impressed with her work. Watching her grow into her voice while writing this story was beautiful and to see her become confident in her storyline and switching it up from her first book was so wonderful to be apart of. It's only gonna get better from here girlfriend and I'm beyond proud to be apart of your journey 🫶🏼

I can't believe this was the ARC the world decided I needed to end my year on. Because, OH MY WORD!!
Mallory, my sweet, sweet, Mallory. Absolutely incredible job. I cannot put into words how much Dixie and Chris' story means to me. I thought Forged in Montana was phenomenal but Wilder in Montana blows it out of the water.
I related to Dixie more than I'd like to admit and being over 10 years since I was last assaulted, I still had a lot of healing to do but Dixie healed me.
Their first time, healed me and just opened my eyes to all the times my husband has healed me in the little ways that he does things.
I've read some books or series that have just altered my brain chemistry but Dixie and Chris have altered my life. And maybe thats a bit dramatic but I'm serious. Their story did something to me that I hope so many more people experience.

I have desperately waited for the book all year! I was anxious to read Chris’s story, and it won’t soon be forgotten!

Mal did such an amazing job with Dixie, Chris, and the girls! This was such a heart warming story of love after loss for both of our main characters, just in two different ways. The growth in all four characters was so well done! Dixie had to learn how to trust a man, Chris had to put his heart back out there, and the girls had to get used to having another woman around.

This story line will have you tearing up, laughing, swooning and wanting your own permanent marker (iykyk). I can’t wait for Addy and Eddy’s story next!

While this is book 2 in the series, you can read them as standalones. You will miss out a little bit on the family dynamic that you learn about in Forged in Montana, but it is somewhat explained in this book as well.

You will love Wilder in Montana if you love

Highly anticipated story of the Uncle Chris. Widower with a couple wild little girls and a whole ranch operation in Montana. I absolutely loved getting his full story and reading his HEA! I have to admit…I wasn’t a fan of the FMC Dixie at first but I have trust in Mal’s writing and needed to stick it out with Dixie to see the character develop and boy was in love with her by the end…well really by about 30% in!!! 🤣🤣

What I loved most is that no one was replacing anyone and the traumas were lived, healed, and slowly repaired by the other just as it should be in real life with your person. Mal is a great story teller and her love stories are so sticky sweet and wholesome. This one was a bit spicier than the first and I loved it!!!!

Thank you Mallory Meyer’s for this beautiful ARC! Can’t wait to keep going with this series because that ending 🫣😅

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | ARC Review

Thank you so much to the author for the e-ARC and the opportunity to read Wilder in Montana.

This book was such an emotional and comforting read. The Montana setting was beautifully written and felt so real. I felt like I was right there on the ranch while reading. You can tell a lot of care went into making the setting come alive.

Dixie is a strong, unapologetic FMC, and learning about her past made her character even more meaningful. Chris is the perfect grumpy single dad closed off but deeply devoted to his girls and I loved watching him open his heart without ever trying to change Dixie.

Overall, this was a heartfelt story about healing, love, and found family, and it left me with such a warm feeling by the end. A really solid four-star read that I truly enjoyed.

When the prologue hooks you and you can’t put the book down until the last word of the epilogue… So many emotions, such realistic characters, written beautifully into a wholesome plot (yet not without some steamy, blushing spice!). Chris, widower and single dad (and a handsome blue color behemoth), hires a gorgeous, spunky and confident rancher, Dixie. There’s a situation that lands them into a forced proximity and eventual epic one bed situation where a dynamic romance full of passion, care and hope develops between two people that weren’t looking for love. I’m loving the world of Silo Springs Ranch and its cowboys and their families and can’t wait for more. 4.5 stars

I literally read this in 3 hours. it was such a delicious and easily devourable book. Dare I say I liked this better than the first book???
I felt like this one was like a spicy Marcia Lynn McClure book (I hope it's okay that I said that Mallory!) I just loved the falling in love and facing fears and trauma! It brought me back to when I was in high school reading my first romance books written by Marcia.
I truly and genuinely adored this book! The part with the ring and what Daddy Chris did had me all teary eyed. I was unprepared for the sentimentality. It was absolutely precious.
Well done, friend! Such an amazing sequel!

Wilder in Montana by Mallory Meyers was a great addition to the Silo Springs Ranch Series! As soon as i started the book Mallory had me sobbing through the prologue. Chris and Dixie have been through it and my heart was breaking for them throughout my read. The healing and the way they heal together was lovely. The chemistry, banter, and tension between Chris and Dixie was simply off the charts! Wilder in Montana is sweet and emotional fast paced read and I can’t wait to see what Mallory has in store next for Silo Springs!

Short, sweet, and all the feelings! I couldn't even make it through the prologue before I was crying!

If you enjoyed Forged, you'll love Wilder - there's trauma and healing, and finding love when you weren't looking for it. I love that no one was replaced in finding that love, and someone new was just added to the family. And now I have to wait to find out who's story is next!

Who knew getting a job on a Montana ranch would end up changing your life? Dixie Wilder shows up to Silo Springs with her take no crap attitude just wanting to be like all the other cowboys. Chris (Boss) Cole is focused on raising his girls and running his ranch. I enjoyed this sweet, spice and everything nice book! I absolutely adored how Chris and Dixie helped each other heal. I also really enjoyed the epilogue and getting a glimpse into their life a few years down the road.

A big thank you to Mallory for the arc!

Dixie & Chris - Sweet Romance at its best!
I totally love this couple to bits! Dixie has spunk and Chris is just a gentle giant with a murderous side hé hides! Their story could truly be anyone’s dream come true after hardship and tragedy. This family is unconventional, but perfect in its own quirky way. You won’t regret reading their story

“She was stunning in denim and dirt.”
Pack your bags and saddle up; we are headed back to Silo Springs!

HOLY SMOKES 🔥 I completely devoured this book! I don’t even know if I can adequately describe how much I loved this book!

This single dad, cowboy romance doesn’t leave a single detail out. Not a single one!

Chris and Dixie…complete perfection! Addie & Evie are the absolute cutest! All together? 🫠 They are everything!

Chris is the single dad, who is doing his best to run his cattle ranch and raise his two girls. He’s been through it and after losing his wife he swore he would never love again. Dixie is tough as nails. She’s out here to prove and protect herself. She’s one of the guys and don’t you forget it.

The banter in this book is top tier, but there are little references throughout that made me completely giddy. The HEART of this book though, the HEALING… Y’all!!! I don’t know how Mallory does it but she steals my heart from the first page. And it’s pure crack to the last page! The way Mallory crafted Chris and Dixie, what they experience together, how they SEE each other, how they SUPPORT each other… I seriously could not get enough. The part you hold your breath for at the end left me shook. It was utter perfection I didn’t see coming but was so ecstatic when it came up.

There are so many parts I could go on and on about but truly I don’t want to spoil a single part. Trust me when I say you just have to experience them for yourselves.

I need to go to Montana and do life at Silo Springs asap! I LOVED Forged in Montana, but Chris & Dixie steal the whole damn show! They are explosive in all the best ways and I am here for every second of their story!

Wilder in Montana comes out December 21st. If you love age gaps, cowboys, spice, plot twists, your heart being tugged in all directions, and the sweetest HEAs then go pre-order, charge your kindles, snag the paperback, and be prepared to never want to leave Montana!

Wilder in Montana
Silo Springs Ranch #2
by Mallory Meyers
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Short, sweet, and packed with all the feelings from the very first page to the last Wilder in Montana was such an emotional, comforting read. Stepping back onto Silo Springs Ranch felt like coming home, and I loved every moment of it.
Dixie Wilder is a fierce, take no nonsense woman working in a male dominated field. She’s carrying her past, craving a fresh start, and absolutely refuses to let anyone underestimate her. When she lands a job on Chris Cole’s ranch, everything begins to change.
Chris Cole is a former military man, ranch owner, and devoted single dad to two girls. Still deeply loyal to his late wife, he’s closed off his heart until Dixie. Hiring her for the season was meant to be temporary, but from the moment she arrives, she shakes up his carefully controlled world.
And wow… Daddy Chris did not disappoint.
Grumpy, protective, patient, and quietly soft in all the right ways Chris was exactly what Dixie needed, and she was exactly what he didn’t know he was missing. Watching these two broken, strong characters slowly find comfort, safety, and healing in each other was incredibly moving.
Mallory Meyers handles mental health and trauma with so much care and authenticity, creating characters that feel real, raw, and deeply lovable. This book wrapped around my heart and is going to live there rent-free. learning to trust again, and allowing yourself to love even when it feels impossible.

ARC REVIEW.

First, thanks to the author for an advanced copy of this amazing story.

-I loved this book as much as the first one. I really like this author's writing style. I liked that the plot touches on other themes besides romance and I liked that.

-Speaking of the main characters, I loved both of them. Cris seems tough and serious on the outside, but once you get to know him, he's a sweetheart. Dixie is amazing and I liked her tough side that she uses like a breastplate. I also liked the relationship she had with Cris's daughters from the beginning, it's so cute. It was also lovely how they both started opening up to each other, and this helped create a solid and real love story.

-If you like small-town romances and stories about healing and finding love this is perfect for you. If you haven't read the first book, Forged in Montana, I highly recommend it!

4/5 ⭐️
3/5🌶️
------------------------------------------------------

Si no has leído el primer libro, Forged in Montana, ¡te lo recomiendo muchísimo!

BOOK REVIEW: Wilder in Montana by Mallory Meyers

Wilder In Montana is book 2 in the Silo Springs Ranch series by Mallory Meyers. We met Uncle Chris and his 2 young daughters in book 1 and in this book we get their story!

Chris Cole was a military man who now owns a ranch and is a single dad to 2 girls. When he is looking for new ranch hands, he gets an impressive resume from Dixie Wilder. Although it is rare to hire females for the job, he gives her a shot. And when she shows up to the ranch with a spicy “take no crap” attitude, she shakes things up in Silo Springs!

Read this one if you love:
🧡small town romance
🧡cowboy romance
🧡boss x employee
🧡age gap
🧡single dad
🧡found family
🧡lots of banter
🧡so much chemistry
🧡dual POV
🧡some spice🌶️🌶️

This was a sweet, emotional story of finding love after trauma. It was a quick read but also a powerful one with themes of hope and healing. This one will make you laugh and it’ll make you cry. If you loved Forged In Montana, you’ll love Wilder!

I have been waiting for this book and was so excited to be gifted an ARC from the author. I loved book one in this series, but I almost think I loved Wilder in Montana even more.

Dixie and Chris are two special characters that have been through a lot individually and I adored the way they were able to find comfort in each other. Mallory does a great job with mental health representation, but also with the idea of trauma and how hard it can be to cope with and overcome it.

This book was emotional, sweet and funny, and had just the right amount of spice to top it all off. I liked that the issues that both characters faced felt real and raw, and let me really fall in and believe it.

This book is short so things move fast but I actually really liked that, it never felt like the story stalled or dragged on.

I can’t wait for this series to keep building, after reading this one I’m excited for book three.

Daddy Chris has met his match when Dixie Wilder blows onto Silo Springs Ranch like a sassy hurricane. After Claire passed away, it took him a long time to heal and even become open to anything happening again - until Dixie. However! Dixie is NOT open to anything. She’s had a very hard life and doesn’t trust men for very good reasons. Just like Addie and Evie, she lost her mom young too. The girls bond immediately. Over time, all wounds heal even if they still sometimes hurt like hell. They were exactly who Dixie needed to move past all of her trauma and actually live - and Dixie is exactly who Chris and the girls needed after losing Claire. I love every single moment of this journey - and it was a wild ride. The emotions, the strength, the protective Daddy, the amazing girls - all of it makes for an incredible read once again!

I really enjoyed this quick little read. Prepare for the prologue to have you crying. This was a fun, beautiful story about healing from loss and trauma, learning to love again and opening up to trusting people again.

Dixie is a feisty bada** working in a mostly male dominated field , and she took nothing from anybody. We learn more about her past as her story went on in it absolutely broke my heart , and totally explains why she is the way that she is. Chris is the definition of a grumpy single dad, but he also has the biggest heart. After he lost his wife years ago he closed off his heart and solely focused on raising his girls and running his ranch until he met Dixie , who came in and completely blew up his entire life. I love how Chris never tried to change her he just stood beside her while she stayed herself. When Chris found out what happened in Dixie's past he made sure that justice was served and I absolutely loved it. The epilogue was so adorable, so cute. I love when an author jumps significantly into the future for an epilogue.

My sweet angel muffin Mal did it again! This book was so good, and so emotional!

I cried while reading the prologue, it grabbed my heart and yanked it right out. And then the rest of the story put it back together and gave me so many feels.

Chris and Dixie were a match made for each other, because they understood each other on so many levels. It was fun watching the back talk from Dixie, and the reactions from Chris.

These two have been through it, and I loved the moments of getting to open up to each other and the understanding.

This book was such a good one, and it hit all the right notes!

book two in the Silo Springs Ranch series. After losing his wife, Chris only has time for his two little girls and his ranch. Until he meets his new hired hand. Dixie is always on guard. Someone stole something from her that was not theirs to take. After almost falling and hurting her horse, Chris takes her home and helps her heal. Boss never sound so good to chris till he her Dixie call him. she seems to be everywhere. he takes a change and makes a move. he defends her honor like a hero in white horse. emotional roller coaster story. you won’t put down.

Spice - 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Dixie - Chris - Evolette - Adelaide

Single Dad
Boss/Employee
Cowboys and Ranching
Mutual Trauma/Healing

The way that Dixie and Chris just simply and slowly start letting each other in. As much as we like a fairytale, I think everyone appreciates when it’s just real. When the story and the falling and the showing up for each other is just authentic. And that’s what Dixie and Chris do. Slowly, but surely they just share pieces of themselves with each other and open up to one another. And in that truth and honesty comes a very relatable solid love story. despite each of their own trauma, they find a way to heal by sharing it with each other.

The connection that she builds with his daughters is Honest and loving. There’s nothing forced. And the found family element of these characters in the ranch is just a comfort.

Another great read by Mallory. If you have not traveled to Montana with her. I highly recommend starting with Forged in Montana, so when Wilder in Montana comes out you are caught up.

The story is really sweet and everything we love about Mal’s cowboys :
❤️‍🔥Green flag with a pinch of touch her and die ❤️‍🔥

Mal writes some addicting Green flag cowboys. Daddy Chris did not disappoint.
Single dad of two, grumpy and loyal to his late wife. Hires Dixie for the season, and his life changes forever.

And for the first time since his wife has passed, Chris feels...something.

Dixie sassy and independent cowgirl from Texas, needs no man , hiding a dark and heartbreaking secret.

Miss I-can-do-it-on-my-own. found her match in Mr. Sitdown. Chris was the perfect balance of protective and patient that Dixie needed to process her past and allow someone in her heart again.

This story was such a fast paced read, filled with feel good and just the right amount of angst and the spice was chef's kiss. I mean I will never look at an Andalusian Horse he same ever again ...

Another man to fall in love with from the Silo Springs Ranch, pick up book one you will see where the obsessions started.
