A plane crash. No survivors. Two widows left behind with everything to lose.

Eva was once a scrappy journalist, but motherhood and suburban life softened her edge-until her husband's death forces her to investigate the biggest story of her life. Bank accounts drained. Documents forged. Her father's name entangled in financial crimes. To save her family, she must expose the truth about the person she trusted most-her husband. Harper, a roller coaster designer, knows how to build a ride that keeps people safe, even when they're hurtling into the unknown. But no blueprint could prepare her for the sudden drop after her husband's death. No records. No family. No past. Harper, five months pregnant, must dismantle his secrets-before her child is born into a lie. The two women-strangers and opposites-should have nothing in common. But bound by suspicion, Eva and Harper are thrust together into a truth-seeking mission that will change them both. Because sometimes, the most dangerous lies are the ones we tell ourselves.

*4.5 stars*

“Flight Path” begins with a tragic plane crash where there are no survivors. The storyline follows two of the widows as they negotiate life without their husbands.

Eva and Harper are about to discover that neither of their husbands was the person they thought they were, and they will spend the next weeks and months trying to make sense of these discoveries!

Well, I absolutely loved this one. It had me gripped from the start. The storyline itself was quite unique, with some great twists and turns, and two formidable characters in Eva and Harper. Eva is a former journalist who investigates the biggest story of her life - that of her deceased lying husband. Harper is a roller coaster designer who, after his death, can find no online trace of her husband!
Most definitely recommended!

I typically finish a book in 2-3 days but this one did take longer (by no means because of the book).
This past week between holiday plans and some things at work I didn’t have as much time to set aside for reading as I usually do.

A plane crash. No survivors. Two widows left behind with everything to lose.

First I’ll say what this book isn’t: an aviation thriller.
I still enjoyed it, but as someone who really gets into airline/aviation related books, I feel like that’s worth mentioning in a review as the title and cover could lead a potential reader to expect that.
The plane crash was really just a small detail that set up everything else in the book.

What this book is about is found friendships and family, and two women trying to navigate through life after losing their husband in a plane crash, and also discovering that they were both left behind with unknown details that they were trying to piece together.

I found both female protagonists to be likable and also liked the ending.

Overall this was 3.5 ⭐️ for me, but because it’s still the holidays I’m going to round up.

Thanks to NetGalley and Manhattan Book Group for gifting me a copy in exchange for an honest review!

This is not a genre I typically read, but I loved this book! The author wove together the two protagonists’ lives so beautifully and it continues to stick with me. I can’t wait to read whatever she writes next!

This novel is like an intricate puzzle box to unfold. The two central women characters are so alive and interesting. The plane crash around which the plot of the narrative revolves, ultimately gives them both a way to look at the boxes they have created and to grow. I especially loved the author's view of the possibilities for women's lives as reflected in the character of Chanel.

A gripping novel
I came across “Flight Path” by Suzanne Carver and I was glued to the pages from the start. It’s a gripping novel that delves into a plane accident that has no survivors but the problem comes out when one widow, Eva, discovers that her husband hides information from her. So, Eva starts an investigation that changes her life and drives her closer to Harper, another widow. At the beginning, they were strangers but then their lives intertwined.
When it comes to gripping stories, this novel takes the first prize since it delves into a story that can happen in reality. I was really engaging in these two women’s investigations and ideas about the b side of their marriages. While I was reading, I felt pity for those women but at the same time proud to see how they investigate and move forward in their lives. I definitely recommend it.

I enjoyed this book. It’s a story of two very different women, their past and present struggles, and how they not only survive, but thrive. It’s a story with twists and turns, ups and downs, very much like a roller coaster! 😉 I guessed the big part of the story, but I still loved all the little details of getting there. It’s also a story of friendship, and I so love a good friendship. I liked how both women discovered that they had been lying to themselves, how they acknowledged and accepted their parts they played, and how they then chose to move forward, both better versions of themselves.

I also really enjoyed learning about the inner workings of roller coasters, as well as the words/definitions that Harper used to process.

This was a lightning-fast read. I flew through it in about a day. The characters were so likeable and layered that they pulled me right in. Eva and Harper were both absolute forces of nature, though in completely different ways, and that contrast made their dynamic fascinating. Felix, Vee, Luis, and Chanel each brought something unique to the table, adding depth and keeping the story fresh and engaging.

One of my favorite aspects was how the book explored insecurities, both men’s and women’s, and the way we often assume everyone else has it all together. That armor we put up, whether to keep others out or to feel superior, was portrayed so honestly. Even Eva’s mother, Carol, carried a lifetime of insecurities she was constantly trying to compensate for, which added another layer of realism.

The last chapter and the epilogue? Absolutely loved them. Perfect way to wrap things up.

Huge thanks to Suzanne Carver, Manhattan Book Group, and NetGalley for the ARC.

I devoured this story in 24 hours. When I finished, I just wanted to meet up with the main characters for the weekend and soak up their insight and perspective on being women and mothers and marriage. I felt heartbreak, delight, satisfaction, and surprise in equal measure start to finish. I also learned a lot about roller coasters which felt like a nerdy bonus 🥰😆

Inspirational

This book came into my life at a very special moment, when I am facing many challenges about the way I talk to myself. I believe these challenges are something every person experiences. I love this book because it reminds us how important it is to pay attention to the way we speak to ourselves and the truths we choose to believe. It also shows that when we are in highly emotional situations, we are not always able to think clearly, and the things we tell ourselves in those moments are not always true but temporary. This book reminded me how essential it is to speak kindly to ourselves, believe in the positive, and recognize what does not define us in order to grow.

I loved this book! It is amazing how the author engaged me in the very first page, with two powerful women whose path joins to find out the truth that is hunting them. It is a book full of adventure and intrigue, with a lot of twists and turns that would leave you breathless and wanting to know how this would end. I think that the author's writing is incredible, it balanced perfectly emotional moments with a mystery to solve. I'm also a huge fan of the protagonist, they are unstoppable, even when they are passing through a pretty difficult moment, they had the strength to keep fighting to know this twisted truth. A must read.

It all begins with a plane crash. There are no survivors. Two men, apparently strangers, were on the plane. After the tragedy, two women are widowed, Eva and Harper, each with their own life story but with one thing in common: unmasking the lies of their deceased husbands.

This book has undoubtedly captivated me throughout. The plot is very good, well thought out and elaborate. The characters, especially those of Eva and Harper, are majestic. Two women taking their destiny into their own hands and trying to unravel the lies of their deceased husbands.

I certainly recommend this read to all readers who love mystery plots.

Recieved through Netgalley to read and review and a thank you goes out to the publishers of Flight Path- Mannhattan Book Group for making it available to read.

Author Suzanne C. Carver has written a truly a spectacular, emotional story that begins with a shocking prologue that will shatter everything that comes after. For two woman Eva and Harper, their lives were as they liked them: Eva and her kids being well because of her husband Campbell's job at a high finance bank; and Harper making a an engineer designing roller coasters and finding a life with her husband Witt. When a plane crash takes the lives of both men and everyone in that flight; Eva and Harper struggle to handle the burden the tragic losses bring to their lives and families. For Eva especially, losing her husband was one thing to cope with kids seemingly handling it and not at same time but it's when she left to figure all of the financial papers in the wake of Campbell's death... a even harsher secret is unveiled about the man she loved. Campbell did love Eva and his kids but he also loved the wildness that was Harper and tried to have two lives and women, all fueled by his job. But the cracks were showing at the man's job that could bring down his elaborate houses of cards. An unfortunate plane crash altered everything... those left behind are left to pick the pieces.

Highly recommended.

Flight Path is a quietly powerful, emotionally layered thriller that unfolds through the lives of two women—Eva and Harper—after a devastating plane crash shatters everything they thought they knew. Suzanne C. Carver’s writing is controlled, thoughtful, and deeply human, allowing grief and uncertainty to drive the story rather than relying on constant shock. Eva, a former journalist, approaches loss with an investigative instinct that feels authentic and compelling, while Harper, a roller-coaster designer facing grief and pregnancy at the same time, brings a contrasting vulnerability and strength. The dual perspectives are well balanced, giving each woman space to feel fully realized, and the gradual unraveling of secrets is handled with care and emotional weight. I especially appreciated how the prose leans into atmosphere and character, letting tension build naturally instead of forcing it. The ending lands with impact, tying together the emotional and narrative threads in a way that feels earned. A thoughtful, engaging read that blends mystery with introspection beautifully.

Fabulous Read.
Eve and Harper lose their husbands in a tragic plane crash that destroys the lives they thought they had built.
While struggling to find their way amid questions surrounding their respective spouses lives, jobs and financial uncertainty, they find each other and forge a friendship.
Of sorts..
Harper is pregnant with her first child and a brilliant design engineer of roller coasters while Eva is a journalist and the mother of 2 pre-teens suddenly faced with questions surrounding her husband's income and their own now questionable economic stability.
Great characters with a story that moves right along with fascinating nuances and mysterious intrigue.
An honest-to -goodness, "did not see that coming"!!!!!!

Thank you to NetGalley, author Suzanne C. Carver, and Manhattan Book Group for the ARC and the opportunity to review this book.

I went into this read without fully reviewing the synopsis and initially expected the story to focus more heavily on the plane crash itself.

Instead, the narrative took a different direction, one that felt highly predictable from the outset. The central plot relied on the well worn trope of an unfaithful spouse, which did little to distinguish the story or add tension.

Additionally, I struggled to connect with the characters, as they were largely unlikable and difficult to invest in emotionally.

While I had hoped to enjoy this book more, it ultimately was not a good fit for me.

This novel is one of the most exciting novels I have read in the last month. ‘’Flight Path’’ will unite two women in a single mission to uncover the people behind their husbands' deaths. With this incredible plot and the mystery and the intrigue will be present on every page of this novel. This novel will keep readers guessing until the end. As Eva and Harper investigate further into their husband's final hours, they uncover a web of lies, betrayals, and secrets. What began as a search for truth soon becomes a fight for survival and to protect the truth. With a lot at stake, this novel will captivate you from the beginning, so don't hesitate to read this great novel.

I have to say, I was completely drawn into this book from the start. The story is full of surprises and a constant, intense tension that often made me rethink my guesses. It was fascinating to follow the lives of Eva and Harper, two women with very different but equally strong personalities.

What I loved most is how the story blends mystery with the most human emotions, such as loss, mistrust, and the need to know the truth. There were times I felt my heart racing, and other times I just couldn’t stop reading. Flight Path is a strong, well-told story with a really surprising ending. I highly recommend this incredible tale!

A gripping mystery thriller...

Suzanne C. Carver's Flight Path captivated me from the first page. Eva and Harper's lives are turned upside down following a devastating plane crash, and truths about their husbands are revealed to the world. What begins as a sense of melancholy quickly evolves into a compelling quest for the truth and one's identity. Carver's ability to combine aspects of mystery, emotion, and strength in an authentic manner impressed me. The unexpected turns of events caught me off guard, and I was rooting for both of the women. It's suspenseful, intense, and impossible to put down.

Two women lose their husbands to the same plane crash, where there are no survivors, and must find their way through an aftermath that leaves them shocked for more reasons than one.

Although the two of them are apparent opposites (and this bit felt a bit cliched), they end up finding common cause as each discovers something she did not know about her life partner.

This one was the mixed bag for me, as I found the characters a little stereotypical as people, but the story line was entertaining. Overall, it gets 3.5 stars.

I was really into this story. I like how the book started with a lot of suspense and these two strong women figuring things out and trying to go from there. I liked how smooth the narration felt, very engaging; and it was easy for me to get lost in the story and Eva and Harper.
Personally, I think that although there's a really cool plot going on, the narration style the author has adds a lot to it; it shows emotion and care for he characters.
Overall, I think it's a very good read and I love this idea of finding yourself and facing truths.

Flight Path is a Net Galley book I received. It’s the story of a tragic plane crash that set the stage for two separate families to share the tragedy with mysterious circumstances. Both women have to dig deep to discover their husband’s secrets, and that throws everyone into a plot that is twisted and involved. One family with children have to cope with finances after discovering money missing. The other tries to discover just who her husband was, where he was from, where he worked. Two different men that cross paths (flight) in this suspenseful story.

A roller coaster of a ride Which is appropriate for a main character who design such rides. The story moves slowly at time as tension is built. Then it moves at a breakneck pass for a short time as the protagonist tries to unscramble the twists and turns in her deceased husband’s past. I received an advance copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher and voluntarily provided an honest review.

This book was different. Part family drama, part mystery. The two female main characters, Eve and Harper have both lost their husbands. Over time they both learn that their husbands had secrets. There were parts I enjoyed and other details I felt were unnecessary as didn’t fit the growth of the story. About halfway through I predicted one of the major plot twists. Thank you to the publisher for an arc via NetGalley, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

This debut novel by a local Maine author was hand-sold to me in an Indie bookstore.

I read the whole book in one sitting. For me, it succeeded as a family drama and an engaging story. The “thriller” part fell flat, with a plot twist that was entirely predictable from the beginning of the book.

There was a very like able trans character, but I found the racial aspects of the plot to be clumsy.

Thank you to Netgalley for allowing me to read this book in return for an honest review. I really enjoyed this book and I was hooked from the beginning. The two female protagonists were written really well and I found myself wanting the best for both of them. I have to be honest and say I did guess the twist midway through the book but I still enjoyed it. I particularly liked the ending and how it wrapped everything up perfectly. Highly recommend.

“Gripping, emotional, and impossible to put down!”

This story hooked me from the very first line a plane crash, no survivors, and two widows left behind. What unfolds is an emotional, fast-paced journey filled with shocking twists, layered secrets, and the strength of two women determined to uncover the truth

Thank you NetGalley and Manhattan Book Group for the eARC.
Despite my phobias about flying and rollercoasters I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
The two main female characters were great and I loved that they ended up bonding and becoming good friends.
Both have lost a husband due to a plane crash and grieve
in different ways until one of them writes a blog about coping and they become friends online and later in real life.
And the ending ... wow, what a great one, terrific!
