In the year 1352, Annabelle Laveaux dies protecting the boy she loves—only to awaken in darkness, bound to a fate she never chose. Turned into a weapon for the Sanctum Regis, an immortal order of vampire witch hunters, she is cursed to hunt the very blood that once ran in her veins.
Years later, Annabelle walks the line between predator and protector, her humanity slipping further with every kill. But when a forbidden truth about her family resurfaces, old loyalties splinter, and long-buried fire threatens to consume her from within.
Her brother, thought dead.
Her mother, betrayed.
Her lover, lost to shadow.
As enemies close in and allies shift, Annabelle must decide what kind of monster she is willing to become—and whether redemption still exists for those bound by blood and fire.
Haunting, visceral, and unrelenting, Blood Bound is the first book in a dark fantasy trilogy where love and ruin are two sides of the same blade.

Alright 👏🏼 I see where this series is going to go. I see the vision, and I like the vision. Overall, this book has great bones. The storyline had depth, and the writing was done so descriptively.
I love a cast of morally gray characters. I feel like this set of friends got dealt an awful hand, and with being forced into this life, they have no choice but to be morally gray. It made for a darker read for sure! Those feeding scenes were everything I’d expect from a vampire.
I like that there’s a start of a love triangle brewing—the strong Annabelle was torn between the idea of the calm and assessing Marcus, and what she once had with the dangerous and brooding Steven.
I liked that we got some backstory on each character, but I wish we had gotten a little more development so I could form a connection with them! I don’t want to give any spoilers, but I didn’t feel much loss at a certain point in the book, where I feel like I should have.
This one had a bit of everything! Witches, vampires, different timelines.
The layout/format is unlike anything I’ve read, but it made for a quick read!
“There were six bound in eternity, and six were broken upon the wheel of fate”
I have to be hones I completely stepped out of my comfort zone with this book, and I can confidently say I have no regrets.
The story drew me in right from the start. Raw and hectic, balanced between melancholy and morally complex characters, Annabelle’s story is a haunting blend of longing and regret🩸 What I particularly enjoyed was the seamless shift between past and present, it felt like I was seeing the world through Annabelle’s eyes, caught between two timelines. That sense of disorientation, of being stuck in memory and reality all at once, was written so well 🖤 The writing? Epic. It read like a promise, something just on the edge of becoming, I just couldn’t tear my eyes away. It was poetic and haunting in the best way.
Firstly, I want to thank Maggie Sn. for kindly sending me a copy of this book!
This book follows Annabelle Laveaux, who ends up dying to protect the boy she loves. Instead of dying, the Sanctum Regis, an immortal order of vampire witch hunters, turns her and her friends and the boy she loves into vampire witch hunters. Centuries later, Annabelle discovers a family secret, she has to decide where her loyalties lie and what kind of monster she wants to be.
I was pleasantly surprised by how good this book was. The dialogue, the story, the characters, the plot developments, everything was great!. I actually also loved the love triangle even though I don’t normally love this trope, which I was again surprised by. I just loved the tension that the love triangle created, it really made you care for the characters. And the story was also really enjoyable to read too. But god, the ending, the cliffhanger…I need book 2 nowwwwwwwww.
The only thing that fell short for me was the fact that it took 200 pages, which was half the book, for the story to actually start. Like those 200 pages was everything that happened in the blurb. So, the blurb could have been shortened to not include everything. The author could’ve also integrated a lot of the backstory in those 200 pages throughout the rest of the book; that way the readers would’ve been guessing about the characters in terms of why they are the way they are.
But all in all, this book was great, and I cannot wait for the next one! I have to know what happens! Also, I would like to say, Maggie, you slayed it with your debut!
Okay… this book hooked me from page one. Blood Bound is an enthralling tale that weaves together the lives of six unforgettable characters—Annabelle, Stevens, Marcus, Cassie, Mike, and Sarah—as they navigate centuries of love, loss, loyalty, and duty. But make no mistake, its heart lies Annabelle Laveaux’s story, a heroine whose strength is forged in pain and tempered by resilience. After enduring two heartbreaking losses, Annabelle leaves the Sanctum, the powerful governing body of vampire witch hunters. But defiance comes at a cost, the Sanctum Regis issues a capture order to bring her back—because apparently peace and quiet is too much to ask for😮💨 What follows is a richly layered journey that unfolds through multiple POVs, seamlessly blending past and present. Each character brings a distinct emotional weight to the page, creating a story that feels both intimate and epic. The prose is poetic, the emotions bittersweet, and the betrayals and love stories hit with breathtaking precision. Annabelle’s arc in particular—torn between old love, new desire, and the pull of self-discovery—anchors the novel in something achingly human, even against a supernatural backdrop. Maggie Sn has crafted a world with powerful bones and a heartbeat of its own. It’s immersive with so much potential to grow and I am utterly captivated. To say I’m ready for book two is an understatement. I ache for it.🩸✨
What an amazing book! Been a while since i have read such a well written and flowing book. The attention to detail of both the characters and surroundings. Its unreal. Feels like the book is playing out right in-front of you as you read each page. If you love the fantasy world, of witches, vampires and all other mystical creatures! This book is a must read! From the style of writing to the language, quotes and layout. All add to the story, and the twist and back-flashes are just at the right time. For someone who likes a constant timeline as a reader, i was surprised how effortlessly this book changed my mind!
Thank you Maggie for gifting me a copy of Blood Bound! What an interesting story with so much depth yet really easy to follow. I loved the characters especially Annabelle (I love a fierce fmc) I would love to get to know a few of characters a little more in book 2 (particularly Cassie and Steven) which I NEED because that ending omg! Also I’m a sucker for the love triangle trope, so I really enjoyed that. Overall a brilliant read,I look forward to where book 2 takes us! 4.5 stars 🖤
This book kept me on my toes, the character and story building was phenomenal I ran out of my coloured tabs for this.
The times this had me feeling all types of emotions, I lost count honestly. The ending? I have questions that will be answered in book 2 but I need them asap!🖤
Blood Bound is a dark, atmospheric fantasy that immediately pulls you in. Annabelle’s transformation and the medieval setting create a compelling mix of emotion, tension, and mystery. The world-building is rich, the stakes feel high, and the tone stays deliciously gothic throughout. It’s perfect if you enjoy intense, character-driven dark fantasy. Excited to see where the trilogy goes next.
One of my most favourite reads of 2025 ! Annabelle is my spirit animal !! she gives me eveything I look for in a character Maggie well done on writing a masterpiece x
