I rarely give 5 stars and hadn’t expected to do so here when I began reading. I am familiar with the battles for equality in the Anglican Church but was totally unaware of any movement for change within Roman Catholicism. Now I understand why I was unaware. It is an astonishing story. Astonishing because Soline and a multitude of women have persevered for so long and against such odds. Her story is simply and clearly told. Although it is packed with specific detail, of meetings, petitions, journey’s , plans, disappointments and milestones, it is very easy to read, indeed, becoming impossible to put down. It tells of the the growth of community - and the refusal to yield power. It testifies yet again that absolute power corrupts absolutely.
I hope it is widely read. There is a queue to read my copy.
