Michael Slack delivers pure woodland joy with Funjeepups: A Star Wish, a sweet and silly “first comic” that feels like a nighttime adventure kids will want to jump right into. Button, Dot, and Dollop set out to make a wish on a star… only to find the sky completely clouded over. But these three never let a little hiccup dim their fun.

From vine swinging to guppie bumping to a surprise glowing friend who lights up their night, the Funjeepups turn a starless campout into something even better—an adventure full of imagination, friendship, and unexpected magic.

Bright, bouncy illustrations and gentle humor make this a perfect pick for young readers who love exploring, giggling, and discovering wonder in the dark. A cozy, funny, glow-in-the-dark delight.

This is the perfect convergence of a picture book and a graphic novel. In it, we have three beans who are camping outside so they can see the stars. But it’s a cloudy night so instead of seeing stars, they see a lightning bug. When Dot makes a wish and after a hike, the wish comes true they know they can make another wish. The best thing to say is this book was adorable. Between the illustrations, the simple story, it all works together for a really fun ride.
