5🌟, 3🌶️
This book had absolutely no business pulling me in as hard as it did, but once I started, I was done for.
What I thought would be a light college hockey romance quickly turned into an emotional, can’t-put-it-down read that cost me sleep and wrecked me in the best way. There was something about the pacing, the tension, and the emotional weight that made it impossible to step away.
Hendrix Hunt is exactly my weakness in a male main character. He’s broken, angry, and shaped by a past that never gave him a fair chance, and my heart ached for him from the very beginning. Isla Hardy is strong, driven, and determined to carve out her own identity beyond her famous last name, and the way she stands her ground on and off the ice made me love her instantly. Their bad boy x good girl dynamic is full of slow-burn tension, vulnerability, and an almost painful emotional pull as they slowly let each other see the parts they keep hidden from everyone else.
What truly elevated this story for me was the depth of emotion woven throughout. The angst felt raw, the connection felt real, and the familiar faces from the Puck Boys world added so much heart and nostalgia. I laughed, swooned, and teared up more than once, completely invested in every moment.
This book left me emotional, satisfied, and already craving more from this series.
