A modern day Cinderella story. A small island country off the coast of Spain is ready for change. The tradition is the current ruler abdicates in their 60’s to allow for the next younger leadership. Princess Mikaela de Medreno Soliz has been preparing to rule her whole life. But when her parents demand she select a spouse in the next 75 days before the King announces his abdication plans she is caught off guard. And of course there is a royal ball to meet potential mates. It is there that she meets Isabella Acosta-Ramon. That is where the Cinderella similarities end and the story begins to take off. While the pair are getting to know one another there is stirrings and unrest in the small country. And Mikaela needs to decide if she is truly ready for the ruler mantle to be on her.

This is a debut novel that tells a good story and the author has a nice style of writing. I got to see the attraction slowly grow between Mikaela and Isabella. The political story almost gets equal time. I may have wished for a little more depth to Isabella. Her backstory and family drama are well developed. But other than her being smart but didn’t get to attend university because of money I don’t know much about her current life or aspirations. Once she is firmly at Mikaela’s side her character seems to only be about fawning support. But I still was content with their HEA. Thank you to NetGalley and Bold Strokes Books for the eARC and I am leaving an honest review.

A mordern day whirlwind royalty romance between a princess and a commoner. I felt the romance was a little rushed. It had the courting, the dating, the third act breakup and the reconciliation all within the first half of the story with the eventual royal wedding as the endgame.

The second half of the story is mainly about the wedding preparations, the resolving of lingering doubts, uncertainties and fears about marriage and the royal succession, while trying to diffuse growing public unrest regarding unequal wealth distribution and familial infighting of this small independent island kingdom of Cayo Azul, which I think is based on the old Kingdom of Majorca.

A little bit of action and drama but overall quite low angst. So if you love low angst royalty romance with lots of lovestruck sighings, schmooching and bedroom frolicking, then you'll definitely crave this!

I was provided a free ARC from NetGalley for reviewing.

would like to thank netgalley and the publisher for letting me read this book

have to say i thoroughly enjoyed reading this one though at times in the beginning i was annoyed but thats the thing about a book it will hit your buttons and make you feel and thats what this book did

being told she had 75 days to find a bride well i cant think of anyone that would be overjoyed to hear that but being a princess and her role that she was destined for makes for some strange decisions

it felt a bit like cinderella when they meet ...their eyes and their smile ..... but it was the ride on the horse that settled it....i was hooked and wanted to see where this went...

its not an easy path with betrayal from within on both sides but on the whole this story is a keeper and ohhh my the spice is hot and constant throughout the book

i look forward to reading more from this author

Delectable royal romance
This royal romance was exactly what I needed. A modern romance, a princess in need of a wife, oh my hotness the chemistry and a slight pinch of secrets, unrest and betrayal to keep us readers entertained.
I enjoyed the setting on a small mediterranean island, the friendships around princess Mikaela, the twist on fake dating, the theme of modern developments vs. rural, less wealthy parts of the country.
The writing was smooth, the images vivid and the romance sizzling. The author took her time to develop the story once the original „rush“ is over. Another bonus for me.
A lovely debut by Lissandra Rowe.

I received an ARC of Royal Rush by Lissandra Rowe thanks to the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is a don't judge a book by it's cover type of book. I'm not a fan of the cover, but the book was decent. It definitely felt long, like it should really have been a duology. But it isn't quite long enough to be broken into two books. If the characters were more active with decision struggles and character development, it likely would have beefed up the length allowing for it to be split into two. It would also make the story and characters much stronger.

Pretty good book and my first by this author.

Interesting Royal romance, with a princess in need of a wife with a twist on fake dating with a modern twist. It had good chemistry, some twists and surprises and loved the setting on the Mediterranean island. The writing was great, the romance was hot and wasn't rushed. It was well developed and enjoyable. A great debut.
