Three years after her marriage to Amy Cecil, Daisy has never laid eyes on him. He went off to war and will be returning soon. In one night, she leaves the castle and meets her mate. The result of this is a pregnancy.

This was a story with lots of twists and turns with tons of political intrigue. There are misunderstandings due to the lack of communication. The question of whether the child is Amy Cecil or his brother’s went on for awhile before it is resolved. The lead couple didn’t elicit any strong emotion from me but I was glad they had a HEA.

A story of two people, Amy Cecil and Daisy, who get married but don't see each other in person until 3 years later. He went to war, and she was stuck in the castle being treated less than her title by everyone. When they are finally together, they both withhold secrets/feelings from each other -- her out of fear for herself and their child, him because he thinks his brother was having an affair with his wife. Even though he is mad at her, he does take measures to get rid of the people that continue to be mean to her. I enjoyed the twist and turns and secrets finally be revealed so they could work toward their HEA.

The story was interesting, intense, steamy and exciting. The characters were great, intense, charming, fierce and likable.
