After an accident, Charlie finds himself not in a hospital, but in a dark desert. This is not hell, as he first thinks, but the beginning of the world. He never imagined his deepest longings could be met through an encounter with God in the Garden of Eden. After everything is destroyed by the Fall, Charlie embarks on an incredible search for God’s renewed embrace. He travels from one biblical story to the next, uncovering surprising connections in God’s great story. But he is also tested at home. As doctors fight for his daughter’s life, Charlie tries to prove his innocence in the accident and save his marriage.
The more you know your bible, the more this may annoy…
In the aftermath of an auto accident and the associated conspiracy, a man (and his wife) alternate between maintaining a vigil at their daughters hospital bed and being inserted into multiple events of the biblical timeline from Eden to the crucifixion. The events of scripture are altered slightly to accommodate insertion of the main characters. This would be a good read for someone with little to no experience with the Bible as a whole book, being all about Christ.
I am someone who needs sermons related to todays world in order to understand the biblical message. This book not only made me feel connected to the bible but also helped me understand and relate to the lessons within it. I would recommend this book to anyone who also benefits from learning how the bible can teach us to handle todays struggles.
