In book five, When I Helped You, I Helped Me, the girls experience their next adventure in Ghana, West Africa in 1721. When they meet Kojo, a little boy who has been asked by the king to take the griot’s place at an important festival, Chloe realizes that she and Kojo have a lot in common, both being very nervous about speaking in front of a crowd.
