Just finished this quick read from Steve Rauch. I would not be honest with you if I did not share that I had a bias going into this book. My bias is that I have known Steve for almost 40 years. Steve's dad was my first pastor when I moved to Ohio and it is the place I started my journey with Jesus. In this book Steve brings home the point that it is crucial that we have proximity to people around us. Steve shares stories from his life experiences showing how proximity has impacted those around him. He calls us to go beyond simply texting, emailing or sending letters to people but showing up in their lives. This message is one that is a great reminder for the church but really for all of humanity. In these difficult times it is crucial that we show up in people's lives.
Proximity is about how to be truly with the Lord and others in your life. Not just to see them casually but to truly see them and be seen by them. As Steve’s daughter, I can say that my dad 100% lives these principles out in his daily life, as evidenced in the stories he shares.
