AN ANCIENT MAP. A FORGOTTEN CULT. A RACE TO STOP THE END OF THE WORLD.
Three centuries ago, a ship sank carrying a secret that should have stayed lost forever—a map to a clutch of dragon eggs.
Now that secret has resurfaced, and whoever finds the eggs first will hold the power to reshape the world in fire.
Fahlgrim Firebeard, immortal dwarf and weary guardian of mankind, knows what must be destroy them before they hatch. But he’s not the only one searching. An ancient cult of dragon worshippers has returned, bent on awakening the beasts and unleashing an age of flame.
From storm-tossed seas to forgotten temples and the hidden corners of modern cities, Fahlgrim and his companions must decipher clues, outpace their enemies, and survive betrayals that blur the line between friend and foe. Because the dragons are not the only danger lurking in the shadows—secret forces are moving, and fragile alliances may be the only hope of survival.
The clock is ticking. The world is burning. And some legends refuse to die.
Fans of globe-spanning thrillers, ancient magic, and relentless adventure will be swept away by the next epic chapter in The Fahlgrim Firebeard saga.
Best known for his role as an investigator on the History Channel’s docu-reality series Hunting Hitler, Mike Simpson has served over three decades in the military as an Airborne Ranger, a Green Beret, and a doctor of emergency medicine assigned to the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC).
Trained as a demolitions expert, SWAT sniper, high altitude low opening (HALO) parachutist, civilian paramedic, Special Forces medic, operations and intelligence sergeant, and board-certified emergency medicine physician, Mike now uses his extensive knowledge of training and medicine to help men over forty achieve peak physical condition.
Absolutely Yes, this is everything I hoped it would be.
If you are a LOTR or Indiana Jones fan (the first 3 thank you very much), this book is for you. If you are a baseball fan, there’s something for you. If you want something with military tactics that don’t suck, this is for you. If you love history, archeology and legends…
THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU!
For me, what really makes a book is an End that Comes Together. And this really does. You are having on by the edge of your seat, with just enough information to speculate, but not guess what happens.
And the set up for the next book is perfect. Noy a huge cliffhanger, but enough to make you excited for more.
Fahlgrim Firebeard’s adventures continue to delight in this globetrotting fantasy! Tears of the Dragon takes you not only across the world, but across history as Fahlgrim’s team deciphers clues to the location of the Dragon’s eggs. It’s a race against time to prevent cultists from discovering their location first! Mike Simpson weaves clever puzzles, strong action and dialogue into this pleasing and enjoyable read.
I read the first book in this series because my husband heard about it on a podcast. I ended up enjoying it a lot, so I was happy to see this second installment come out on Kindle Unlimited. I enjoyed this one just as much, if not more. I love how it goes back and forth in time without being confusing. The characters are becoming more fleshed out and well-rounded, the puzzles and magic are interesting, and the plot moves along nicely.
Apart from a couple typographical errors I wanted to take a red pen to, I really couldn't name anything I didn't like about this book. I look forward to the next one.
