The much-anticipated return of the hit Audible Original Mistletoe Murders series, featuring Cobie Smulders (How I Met Your Mother) reprising her role as cozy crimefighter and year-round Christmas store owner Emily Lane in Mistletoe Murders 4.
Coming from Canadian Screen Award winner Ken Cuperus, with Ginny & Georgia’s Raymond Ablack plus a stellar ensemble cast featuring Kylee Evans (The Good Witch) and Jean Yoon (Kim’s Convenience), this new season of the Audible Original will help you get in the festive spirit this holiday season.
When Emily Lane isn’t busy running her charming Christmas-themed store ‘’Under the Mistletoe,‘’ located in the quaint tourist town of Fletcher’s Grove, she finds herself compelled to investigate not-so-quaint local murders. This season finds Emily returning to Fletcher’s Grove after a long absence and reacquainting herself with the town, her ex, Sam, Sam’s new girlfriend, and of course, murder. But it’s not so easy to slip back into the life she left a year ago—especially when another person from Emily’s past arrives in town under mysterious circumstances. Is it a coincidence, or is someone pulling the strings to target Emily—and if so, what’s their endgame?
The Mistletoe Murders Audible Original series inspired the hit Hallmark adaptation of the same name starring Sarah Drew and Peter Mooney, currently in its second season.
I’ve been waiting for this all year, and it did not disappoint! Another fantastic installment in the series—I thoroughly enjoyed all three stories. But wow, what a cliffhanger! These books often end on one, but this was a real doozie. Now the long wait begins again… here’s to the next in the series (in a year—sigh).
I forgot how much I loved this cosy Christmas Noir story telling structure and should have known it would end on yet another cliffhanger… guess the year long wait begins again.
But otherwise this was a much more enjoyable season than the last, though that may just be because of not having listened to three seasons straight (and the formula of the show getting a little stale near the end) this time.
Cobie Smulders is still fantastic in this role as Emily and even though you know she rarely gets in too deep for her to get out it’s always tense enough for you to wonder if this might be the time she doesn’t.
It’s going to be pure torture waiting a year for Part 5. The cliffhanger is a little too much. This year, it feels like the season ended right in the middle of a larger season. I still loved it. I just wish there was more!
I love Cobie Smulders in this. It’s a shame she isn’t the accompanying tv show too!

4.5 stars What's more festive than a small Canadian town featuring a Christmas shop owner with a past and a penchant for stumbling upon murders? Mistletoe Murders is a series of Christmasy audiobooks from Audible that are short, sweet and full of murder and mayhem.
If you're looking for something with a Canadian vibe, this is it! Written by Canadian TV writer and producer Ken Cuperus, this group of audiobooks are narrated by a trio of Canadian talent - actress Cobie Smulders (How I Met Your Mother and Marvel), Raymond Ablack (Degrassi, Ginny and Georgia), Anna Cathcart (To All The Boys, Descendants) and a full cast, complete with background sounds. Holy poutine, that's a lot of Canucks!
With solid mysteries that have bits of humour and larger story arcs, they will make you want to listen to the next book in the series asap. Each book has two sections and runs a total of about 3 hours making them great to listen to while you're wrapping Christmas gifts or stuck in looooong checkout lines at the mall this December.
4.5 stars I love this full cast audiobook series! Each audiobook in the series has three separate novellas and each one is fun and suspenseful.
The narrator for the main character is actress Cobie Smulders, and she is excellent, as is the rest of the cast. These are fun holiday mysteries and in this case it’s an audiobook series that was adapted into a tv series for Hallmark. The third story in the book often ends on a cliffhanger. This one is no different and it's huge! I hope there is a new installment next year, but it will be hard waiting that long.
I KNEW it was going to end with a cliff-hanger and yet, I'm so annoyed. 😆🙈🤯💀
I really want these to be longer. Like twice as long!
It might still be my highlight of Christmas listening this year, even if nothing really went the way I actually wanted it to. *kicks Emily and Sam for not making up faster*
Oh well... It was another great instalment and just as wonderfully produced. Waiting for #5 will be torture, but hopefully worth the wait.
When Emily Lane comes back to Fletcher’s Grove, she expects twinkling lights, familiar faces, and her cozy Christmas shop, Under the Mistletoe—not another trail of murder. Reuniting with her ex Sam, his new girlfriend, and a town that hasn’t quite forgotten her proves awkward enough, but things turn darker when someone from Emily’s past shows up under suspicious circumstances. As old secrets resurface and the body count rises, Emily begins to wonder whether these crimes are random at all—or if someone is deliberately circling closer to her, turning her homecoming into a dangerous game.
This book was an easy 5-star read for me and such a perfect cozy mystery fix. The characters are what really make it shine, and I loved spending time with every single one of them, especially with the layers of history, secrets, and connections woven between them. The mystery kept me engaged from start to finish, with each storyline feeling distinct and memorable while still feeding into the bigger picture. The hints of second-chance romance added just the right amount of emotional pull, and honestly, who’s counting how many chances are too many when the chemistry works? The atmosphere is warm and festive, the pacing keeps things moving without feeling rushed, and the intrigue surrounding Emily’s past continues to deepen in a way that makes everything feel intentional. Ending on a cliffhanger was both cruel and brilliant, because now I’m already impatiently waiting for the next installment… even if it means another year of anticipation.
I love this series so much. I really wish it was longer though. The main 2 characters are TV actors and do such a great job in this. Different narrator for each character and sound effects done very well. Not to loud or too much.
5🌟 This was so good. I can't wait for more. They leave you on such a cliffhanger, I hope they come out with another book. I love the voice actors and the way they do these books.
Very fun to listen to with a whole cast of voices and a story with as many twists. Entertaining during Thanksgiving travel. I would like to hear more if more is written in this series.
After the ending of the third book Emily Lane was taken away, but she is now back, but somethings have changed. But of course, there is always murder. Honestly, this is a fun series to listen to. I don’t know when the next one will come out. To be honest, this whole series gives me hallmark vibes.
