Students go missing at this mythical and magical HBCU campus.
No one knows why, but as our four girls continue their education and learn more about themselves, the mystery begins to affect their friendship with each other. Can they solve the case and stop this growing feeling that something is about to change, all while remaining friends? Let's find out.
I have to wrap my head around the fact that this is a deeply connected and complicated series that will probably continue for a few books before anything is truly resolved.
This book focused on the werewolf brothers and finding the “missing” people. I loved the interconnection of all the characters and how that played out in the book. I also enjoyed the girls growing in their powers and that storyline developing more.
It took me about three to four days to finish the book, and for me, that is a bit long. So even though I enjoyed the story, it also dragged and didn’t keep my attention the way I want a book to.
There were also moments when the story changed without warning. Maybe it was just me, but it felt like when you accidentally turn two pages and start reading, and you’re confused. Then you see that you skipped a whole page. I don’t know any other way to explain it. Some of the writing style and editing can be improved for such a popular series.
I think Solomon is still number one for being, my man, my man, my man, but Bellamy is doing his thing. Now, both of their storylines, I am ready for.
If you’re looking at reviews for book three, then you’re already in too deep and there’s no going back.
If you’re thinking about starting this series, I say go for it. It’s worth it.
Talk about an amazing freaking book. Granger had me in a chokehold for the month of October. I did immersive reading & it’ll never disappoint w their books. I will continue to love the multiple POVs. Maggie & Namir got very steamy in this book. Loved that. I feel like the spice was off the charts lol. I loved the character development in Asha. Isis’ brothers cracked me tf up. I loved how the girls are a detective gang basically lol. It truely touched my heart that they named their group 2nd family 😩 to honor Hil. I’m glad the mystery part finally came to light. I feel like it was a little rushed or kind of brushed over w how it all went down but that’s okay. I feel like discovering Maggie’s life/ goal & all the other girls background made the mystery part not all that deep. Like i was truly invested in each girls story. I hope we find out more about Quan. Like was he truly cursed? Did he ever contact his dad?
My fav scenes: THE CHURCH— my gosh. Namir is a beast & i love me some Maggie!! Visiting the Japanese school. Made me miss Japan. That whole scene where Namir is being thoughtful & intentional about their night was beautiful.
There’s sooooooo many characters that I know for a fact if I was reading it I would not enjoy it. You really have to pay attention because the female characters all sound the same except for the voice of Sousie
The story is great, very interesting but it’s starting to become a bit mundane. I am an extreme lover of fantasy books and the fact that this is fantasy about black character and HBCU makes it even more fun but I think it’s time to wrap it up and start a different series.
I continue to listen to these because they are easy listening in the car and they pass time but if I was actually reading them I would have abandoned the series by now. Maggie is very bratty in this series, maybe they are trying to make her elitism come off. Something’s are left implied and not clarified like the disappearance, did they technically solve it and some, well really most of the characters are underdeveloped. I think at this point they are cranking out books to make money with no real plot to the story. It’s just kind of going along.
There’s so much potential here but it’s falling a little short.
"But anybody would kill to have the type of homegirls I have right now." "She found her own strength and dominance that resonated with the rest of us." "Don't let your past make you miss present opportunities to grow for the future."
This series continues to intrigue and captivate me, I am a bit obsessed with the vast world building and how complex and large it is. This is definitely action packed for sure with a dash of twists and turns. There are so many stories and povs being told but I love how chaotically it all comes together, and intertwines all of the characters in a way. I like that this is fast paced and the continuous layers of drama and mystery mishaps keeps the story going. I admire how the author incorporated some serious themes into the story and I love that no matter what, Maggie, Asha, Isis, and Souxie (honorable mention Quan) rally behind one another. Their tight knit friendship has only gotten stronger and I love that they are individually on separate journeys on finding themselves but still know they got each other's back for anything.
I read When A Wolf Loves The Moon and it left me with so many questions. It was a really frustrating read. I was so disappointed. However, The Three Brothers is a lot more fleshed out. So many questions were answered, and it left me wanting more. If I had it to do over again, I’d skip the novellas because they kind of give spoilers for this book, but I didn’t really mind. I think it would have had more of an impact had I not known some of the things that I learned from the shorter books. I still think this was a five star read. It kept my attention even though I knew some things were going to happen. That’s the mark of a great writer. Even with the spoilers, I was still captivated and surprised. Great read. I’m ready for next semester at Drew Collins.
This series has me hooked and I’m definitely gonna recommend it. Maggie and Nahmir finally got together! Also Irvin and Asha broke up, Isis was SA’d, Quan and her brothers beat the guy up tho. Seth(namir and Tyree older half brother) came back and killed Tyee because he had a hand in killing Seth’s mom and his sisters. Namir will be the pack leader. Maggie showed the wolves she can manipulate time and space in a very public way. Willhemina started taking students from Drew Collins and made them into vampires basically trying to recreate Maggie and Bellamy. Then she started a new school with them. Drew Collins was the white people in lab coats who tortured Asha as a baby.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Once, again this series has me in a chokehold! Asha girl, wth you been doing if you not going to class??? Namir is such a loverboy and I love that for Maggie. He is down BAD for her. Him licking her to soothe himself was the nail in the coffin. They had Quan about to rip his ears off. Add Roy to the list of ain’t shit fathers cause he is the worst kind of parent, especially to his own daughter. Maggie harnessing her power got these people SHOOK. The way this book ends had me sick since now I gotta wait to see what happens next when the next book comes out!
I've enjoyed this journey thus far however at the end of the second book and much throughout this third book it seems as if it is rushed and thoughts were just thrown together. I felt like there were a lot of missing pieces and Rushed deaths with no explanation behind them or when a death was explained it was kind of just thrown in there as an afterthought. Nevertheless I will definitely keep reading to see how this journey ends for Maggie and the rest of the Drew Collins school.
Part of me feels like every time something is getting resolved, 10 new mysteries pop up - Is Quan lying? Is Asha ever going to learn to swim?
But I'm still here for it. I love the characters, I love the whole vibe of the book. I'm salty I can't really find the two side books anywhere and with the amount of refrences she was making I'm wondering if some of her other books intertwine with each other.
What in the world! ((SIGHS))… All this info to end this way.
I will say how much I enjoyed the telling of how the pledges (I wont say who pledged) was on the line and “crossing”! Whewww!! The beauty and history a HBCU has with the tradition! It gave me chills! Granger did a wonderful job making sure she stayed true to the culture.
This is truly a great series. This third book though… 🤨😤🤯
This is book 3 in the series, and ish has hit the fan! The story gets more complex, the characters get deeper, and so much happens that it truly takes you on a ride! I can’t wait for the next book!
Again, read this series if a magical HBCU world with spice and a good mystery is your thing.
This book is my favorite out of the series so far! I would love to see these books end up on screen one day. An amazing series. I’m hooked. I love Maggie and Namir so much!!
I think this one has been my favorite so far, it flowed better for me, was more cohesive and answered a lot of questions. And I'm pretty obsessed with Nahmir & Maggie
