Witch, please. Falling for an incubus was not on the to-do list.
Losing my job sucks. Getting canned because the boss’s sleazy nephew can’t take no for an answer?Infuriating. To stop me from hexing him into oblivion, my coven drags me out to Darlington’s premier paranormal nightclub to dance off the rage.
When I’m targeted by an unknown spell, who else but Julian, the Delerium’s sexy-as-sin owner, steps up to care for me. The incubus has a reputation for breaking hearts and headboards, so I know better than to let mine get involved.
But he’s also sweet and considerate, and surprisingly possessive. And for a guy who swears we’re just friends with benefits, he sure acts like I belong to him.
Suddenly, losing my job is the least of my worries. Because witches are going missing, and if I don’t figure out who’s behind it, I’ll be next. Julian vows to keep me safe… but who’s going to protect my heart when I fall for my possessive monster?
Incubus with Benefits is a standalone romance with a hunky, protective incubus, and a sassy, modern witch with attitude. Think steamy PNR with a blend of cozy mystery. HEA guaranteed.
Incubus with Benefits ended up being a fun listen. This is only my third monster novella, so I was definitely intrigued by the world and the magic system.
It did take me time to get into, mostly because of the dual narration. Troy Duran voicing the female parts definitely took me out of the story a few times. Both narrators were great in their own roles, but I almost always find opposite-sex narration a little hard to swallow, so I do think this would have been a better experience for me as a duet.
Once I got past that, I enjoyed it. The pacing was fast, the story was easy to get through, and the spicy scenes were interesting, especially because I’m still pretty new to monster romance. And fingers with tongues definitely had me trying to picture things even with aphantasia, which was an experience all on its own 🤭
I would recommend it to readers and listeners who like quick fast paced monster romance with an interesting world, good spice, and don’t mind dual narration.
Incubi need sexual energy to survive and Julian has his eye on Lily…. When witches start coming up missing from Julian’s club Delerium, Lily finds herself as the next target… Good thing she has a sexy demon to protect her…
Cute little witchy mystery! The story was easy to follow and flowed nicely with the spice… The spice? Demon Limbs… all I’m going to say!
Thank you to Dark Star Romance for this ALC opportunity! Maggie is a new to me author, as is Dani Soleil as a narrator. So thank you for putting them on my radar!
Dani & Troy did an amazing job bringing this story to life!
I wasn’t sure what to expect with this book as I received it as an ALC
This was such a fun, cute story with the perfect amount of spice!!
A witch is being targeted and a bar owner an Incubus becomes her protector during this time frame. Did I mention he and “transform” his body for her pleasure ??!!’
I was sent an ALC copy of Incubus with Benefits by Maggie Mayhem, and wasn’t really sure what to expect from it. I’ve never really gotten into a Monster Romance before. But this was a way for me to try something new where I didn’t just feel like “since it’s not my norm, I will skip it” like k have with other titles. And I’s so glad I did! It was a fast paced, spicy, and unapologetically fun paranormal romance that leans y into its premise and never tries to be anything else, and that was honestly part of its appeal. From the jump, the story delivers exactly what the title promises; a chaotic chemistry, supernatural temptation, with a main pairing that feels equal parts messy and magnetic. The pacing is quick, making it an easy binge read, and the tone stays consistently playful even when things get steamy or emotionally complicated. Troy Duran and Dani Soleil were both great in their respective parts. I’m not the biggest fan of a male narrator voicing the female part or vice-a versa sometimes. It did take me a bit to get used to this, but by mid book, it didn’t phase me much. One thing that stood out the most was self-aware the book feels. It doesn’t take itself too seriously, which makes the more outrageous paranormal elements even more entertaining. The romance is the main focus, and the connection between the leads is intense, impulsive, and built on that classic “can’t stay away from each other” energy. If you’re looking for deep world-building or slow-burn emotional development, this probably isn’t that kind of book. But if you want a short, spicy escape with supernatural flair and lots of heat, it absolutely delivers on its promise. Overall: a fun, fiery read that knows exactly what it is and fully commits to it.
Here we are at the end of the Possessive Monster series. It was started in 2023 and is still ongoing as of November 2025 with this book. It's all about small town Darlington, where magic ran rampant even before the fall of "the wall" which kept things hidden and suppressed. Darlington is under the protection of the dragon, Desmon, and the series follows the magical escapades of those in the town and the romantic exploits of those not so human members of society.
There's not a lot to say, despite having ten books, plot is thin on the ground, which is fine. These are perfect short reads with low stakes and apart from book nine feeling exploitative, the rest are perfectly fine. My favorite book is probably Signed in Incubus or Here Be Dragons with Handcuffs and Hexes being the most problematic for me.
It was a lot of fun reading about these magic related problems and these magical people, like wizards, witches, and shifters. But it would've been neat to see how a regular human would've dealt with magical trouble or monster related attention. With the exception of Shelby (Who turned out to be a witch by the end) everyone was already well acquainted with magic.
Incubus with Benefits Audiobook 4.5⭐️ Spice 2.5🌶️ Story 4⭐️
This was a fun listen, the story is a monster romance with a bit of a murder mystery, and a interesting magic system, yes this is the 10th book in the series but is a true standalone so you are just good to go. Audiobook is performed in dual narration by Troy Duran and Dani Strato, they did such an amazing job keeping a perfect cadence between their voices in each swap of POV. The spice is great, the monster romance and the way he is using his magic….well that is the highlight of this book if you ask me. The MMC: protective, but not overbearing, possessive and delicious. The FMC: strong, resilient, willing to see the good in other people! Thank you Dark Star Romance for this amazing opportunity to listen to this ALC, my opinions are my own.
One last monster romance to end the spooky season. I'd recommend this if you are in the mood for a spicy friends with benefits relationship between an incubus that understands consent and a witch with an attitude.
Overall, I rate it 4⭐ out of 5 based on the following categories: 🤩Enjoyment - 4; 👥Characters - 4; 📖Plot - 4; 🗺️Atmosphere - 4; 🖋️Writing - 4.
What worked for me: - A MMC that is protective, considerate, and possessive but not in an overbearing way. - A FMC that is resilient, brave, and willing to take a chance on someone with a bad reputation based on preconceived notions.

I received the audio of this story from Dark Star Romance, and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it! This is the first book I’ve read by Maggie Mayhem, and it looks like it’s part of an interconnected series, but I didn’t feel lost while reading. I am adding previous books to my tbr, because Darlington sounds like a fun place and I’d like to hear more stories from its occupants.
Troy Duran and Dani Soleil were perfect narrators for these two characters. I always know I’m going to enjoy Troy’s narration, and Dani is more new to me, but she did a beautiful job.
The story is fast paced and I like that. It is a fun read for sure. It has most of my favorite things: drama, action, romance, HEA. All in all, I’m happy to find a new to me author and a new world to dive into, thank you!
This is a very good read. I like how all of the character interlink and the main story arc throughout the series. These little easter eggs make it that much better. I think that Lily and Julian are great characters. I love Lily’s mischievousness and Julian’s cheekiness. It makes for funny scenes and excellent banter. I soon as I started reading I found I could not put this book down. It is a compelling read!
This is book latest book in this series and in this book, we have Lily. After losing her job, her fellow coven members take her out for an evening to forget her woes. When she's attacked by outside magic, it is the club's owner, who steps up to protect her. The rather delicious Incubus, Julian. Another great read. Dammnn!! I know it was a love at first sight but the way this book put words, you could question it! Like will they end up together or will they be friends?🤭 to summarise, I might be a little into monsters🫣🤣
I was lucky enough to get an ALC from Dark Star Romance!
That being said, this story was amazing for me! I’ve been in a slump so bad lately and this was everything I needed! I love how everything was written in a way to explain what is what in this world, but also not over explained.
I absolutely loved the storyline and the performance done by Troy Duran and Dani Soleil was just right for this book!
I requested this ALC from Darkstar Romance based off of the description and I wasn't disappointed. This is the 10th book in the series even though I had not read any of the previous books in the series and didn't know anything about the world it was easy to follow as a stand alone quick read.
The plot isn't overly complex and had a dash of spice mixed throughout but I didn't feel that the spice over powered the plot at any point and I enjoyed Lilly and Julian's story it was a easy cozy quick read/listen.
To start with Lilly is fired from her job after her boss's nephew makes a pass at her is unwilling to accept that no means no then goes out of his way to make her life difficult even to the point of harassing her outside of work and hindering her hunt for a new job. Lilly has 2 best friends (who are also her coven sisters) to help cheer her up they talk her into going to the local night club Delerium where she runs into the super hot Incubus owner Julian.
After an incident occurs where Lilly's safety is in question it's a surprise to her that Julian steps up in the role as her protector while he has a reputation for being a heartbreaker and she isn't quite sure she should let her guard down around him she does feel so much safer in his home... and in his arms, would it be all that terrible if they got just a little bit closer?
When Lilly finds herself closer than she wanted to be in the missing witch mystery and the cops lead suspect is Julian... when he did nothing wrong but the last one did vanish from his club our couple decide to work together to help solve the case but in the process they might just find that more is on the line than expected when their hearts get involved.
I loved Lilly and her friend group, Lilly was a take charge FMC and went after what she wanted. Julian was sweet and protective. The narrators both did a great job with this and I plan to go back and read other books in this series.
Thank you to the Author and Dark Star Romance for this ALC copy

Incubus with Benefits is the tenth installment in the Possessive Monsters Series by Maggie Mayhem. A quick and fun monster/paranormal romance with a sprinkling of mystery.
I loved this audio experience. It was a quick and entertaining listen. With well crafted characters a fun narrative and an intriguing mysterious plot.
It a slow-ish burn with witty banter an interesting magical universe. Spicy interactions and fascinating moments.
Lily and Julian performed by Troy Duran and Dani Soleil. Are portrayed with a beautiful ease and utter style.
Troy was inspired in his role and brought his character to life. Giving him great personality and depth. Brilliant casting for this character. I loved him! Dani Soleil, was truly perfect in her portrayal of Lily. I loved her sassy, witchy demeanor and her ability to make this character shine with emotion and spirit! Outstanding acting for all main and side characters alike from all voice actors. Phenomenal
A must for all monster romance fans…

Incubus With Benefits is a fast-paced, super spicy paranormal romance that leans heavily into chemistry, danger, and a touch of chaos—and it absolutely knows what it is. As an audiobook, it’s an immersive, dual-narration experience that elevates the story beyond its already addictive premise.
The story centers on a Lily, a witch with latent magical abilities whose life spirals after a workplace incident pushes her into a supernatural world she didn’t even know existed. Suddenly, she’s surrounded by powerful, possessive paranormal men—most notably Julian, an incubus whose connection to her is immediate, intense, and anything but simple. Lily’s emotional progression is one of rapid awakening. At the beginning, she’s frustrated, reactive, and operating purely on instinct. As the story unfolds, she begins to understand both her power and her worth. What starts as survival—figuring out what’s happening to her—turns into ownership of her desires, her boundaries, and her place in this dangerous new world.
Julian brings a different emotional arc. He starts off dominant, mysterious, and driven by instinct—very much in control of the situation. But as his connection to her deepens, there’s a noticeable shift. He becomes more protective than predatory, and his emotional vulnerability sneaks in beneath all that swagger. Their relationship evolves from raw attraction into something more layered, even if it never fully loses that edge of danger.
Troy Duran delivers that deep, commanding tone perfectly suited to a seductive, slightly dangerous incubus. And Dani Soleil captures the heroine’s mix of confusion, defiance, and growing confidence with a lot of personality.
If you’re in the mood for a short, spicy paranormal romance with strong narration and high chemistry, this delivers exactly that. It’s not trying to be epic fantasy—it’s here for tension, steam, and a little supernatural chaos, and it succeeds.
Gleeful Goblin Review: This has got to be one of my favorite worlds to read in; it's always so much fun to see the large and small touches that the author adds. Like, if I could go to a magical rage room called Lemme Smash I would be there every weekend. The club Delirium, owned by our MMC Julian also sounds like a great time. Our FMC Lily has gone there before with her friends (who we know from prior books) and caught Julian's attention but when he tried to treat her "like just another íncubus fangirl" Lily was having absolutely none of that nonsense and left him flat out. But now he's hooked. That same night she left him he tried to feed from others but nothing and nobody else satisfied. When she comes back and runs into some magical mishaps at Delirium the next time, Julian comes to her rescue not just because he wants her but also there's been several disappearances of witches and it seems like Lily is slated to be next. Julian however, is having none of that. Not because he's got feelings though! ;) "Everyone knew he was an íncubus with zero interest in settling down. And why the h3ll would he when he had a bevy of íncubus-obsessed groupies practically throwing their th0ngs, and themselves, at his feet for one night of toe-curling, scream-his-name fun? A dem0n like him didn’t know what commitment was. But they did have friends."
These two become friends and so much more. Seeing them work through what's troubling wítches and figure out feelings was a total hoot. 5/5 Stars
Spicy paranormal romance plus magical crime solving? Yes, please! Incubus with Benefits follows friends Lily and Julian as they investigate the mystery of missing witches…and their relationship. Lily is a sassy, independent witch, while Julian is a considerate and protective incubus; it’s a fun and flirty dynamic between the MCs.
The modern urban setting blended with magic and supernatural beings creates an engaging backdrop for both romance and mystery. I especially enjoyed the investigation and use of magic in their sleuthing. While this is a standalone in an interconnected series, I think reading the earlier books in the series would enhance the experience as there are references to past characters and events; I am curious about their stories!
Troy Duran and Dani Soleil both do a great job with the dual narration. Dani shines in capturing Lily’s confidence and quippy banter, while also depicting her vulnerability. Troy brings depth to Julian, adeptly portraying the thoughtful nature of Julian, alongside his “powerful incubus” persona (including his signature possessive growl). While I usually prefer duet narration, the dual narration worked well here.
Incubus with Benefits is a fun, fast-paced listen, and I am ready to club at Delerium by night and solve magical crimes by day!
When Lily unfairly loses her job, her friends convince her to dance away her troubles at Julian's nightclub. Julian hasn't stopped thinking about her since the first time they had danced together. When Lily is the target of an unknown spell, Julian offers to keep her under his protection. Lily is no damsel in distress; she is resilient, intelligent, and determined to figure out who has been disappearing witches and attempted to take her.
Julian quickly proves himself to be protective, genuine, surprisingly funny, and a whole lot flirty with Lily. As an incubus, his motto has been variety is the spice of life, but he can't help wanting to be with just Lily. Lily and Julian work well together, and throughout their adventure, they learn to open their hearts to more than just "friends with benefits."
This book is cozy enough to curl up with, spicy enough to keep your heart racing, and is full of genuine affection and humor with a cast of characters and compelling mystery that keeps you turning the pages. Perfect for anyone looking for a paranormal romance that leaves you grinning and a little bit smitten with a certain incubus.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I'm so excited that Lily and Julian have their own book. They first appeared in the earlier books, and I've been waiting ever since. Lily is fun, smart, and snarky, and she doesn't take any crap. I knew I was going to like her. Julian took me by surprise. Who knew the flirty nightclub owner had so many layers? Julian is big on community. It's the reason he owns the club in the first place, so his people would have somewhere safe. Once you get to know him, he's caring and an incredibly loyal friend. Plus, he got all growly and possessive over Lily. I loved it.
There was a little forced proximity, which led to a friends-with-benefits situation between the pair. Julian and Lily were pretty good together right from the start. The next thing they knew, their feelings were caught. The situation easily resolved itself. This book had a fantastic mystery. Witches have gone missing, and Lily is next. The magic incorporated with surveillance was really good. There were multiple suspects and a few other things going on. Things feel connected, but I wasn't really sure how. The reason behind the kidnappings and the attacks on Lily was completely unexpected. What a great twist! I came late to this series, but I say keep them coming. Incubus with Benefits was fantastic.
Darlington is such a fun place to visit. I love all of the witches, warlocks , dragons, demons, etc. This story is about Lilly and Julian. I loved how she didn't want to be know as one of his "flavors of the week". So she said no. But he loves a challenge. Their decision of being friends with benefits was interesting. How this happened and what resulted from that point. I really liked Lilly. She wants to help and is loyal to the ones she loves. But she has several problems to contend with. I liked Julian also. We find out what he is really like. Not just as Incubus but more. I liked his denial and then jealousy of anyone interacting with Lily. Case in hand Gina. He didn't want a mate. But fate wasn't listening to him. POV of each, a splash of humor where needed, action and mystery, of course steam and spice to the eventual romance. I also liked that we get to use our imagination for some of the romantic interactions. Good worldbuilding. And of course the perfect HEA for them. I even liked Shadow and her attitude. Can't wait to see who is next to find the perfect mate for them.

This story is dual POV, fantastically written, and a sweet and steamy, fated mates, friends with benefits to more, contemporary fantasy romance between Lily, the female technology witch lead, and Julian, the male nightclub owning incubus lead. I empathised with Lily’s job situation, and enjoyed the creative way she approached her troubles. I enjoyed Julian’s inventive solution to incubus/succubus needs that had seen him start the nightclub, and I enjoyed seeing him mature in perspective from previous stories. I enjoyed the developing relationship, especially the steamy intimate moments. I enjoyed the supportive friend network they both had, and the ongoing non-romance plot that was resolved in this story. This author is one of my favourites and I’m always thrilled to receive one of her stories because they’re so much fun to read whilst dealing sensitively with serious topics. This is now one of my favourite stories and I recommend it to anyone wanting a steamy cosy romance read!
I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.
A witch who never will harness her full powers due to her parents preventing her from using them, Lily is now without a job in coding due to a coworker’s lies. She goes out with her friends to Delirium night club to burn off her anger. Julian who is the owner can sense that Lily is upset. The coworker that had her fired is black listing her throughout the town. Julian is an Incubus who has an attraction for Lily. When trouble comes to her door, Julian is the one that rescues her and keeps her safe. Now Julian is being framed for two missing witches and Lily and her friends are out to find the truth as to why the witches are missing as well as to set Julian free. Great story and characters set in the town of Darlington where magic and humans exist side by side and finding their true loves. Couldn’t put this book down!.

Julian is an incubus with quite a ladies man [and gentleman’s when the mood strikes] reputation. He’s lived a long time and has created a life for himself and those like him, at Delerium, that allows them to recharge without worry of repercussions. Julian loved his life, until he danced with Lily for the first time. After that he had a hard time thinking of anyone BUT Lily. As for Lily … she’s a sassy, independent, modern witch who is unfairly fired from her job and out with friends at Delerium to cheer her up. While there, she falls prey to a malicious spell that shouldn’t have been possible. So, while Julian does feel guilty that it happened at his club, he also uses it to his advantage to keep Lily close and under his roof. This book was a perfect Halloween treat, with an adorable black cat as the cherry on top. I can’t wait for the next Maggie Mayhem. These books just make happy and I devour them.
This book is really well written — the writing style flows nicely, the characters are engaging, and the story keeps you hooked until the end. The world of the incubus is intriguing and feels like something fresh and unique.
However, one thing that slightly disappointed me was how short the spicy scenes were, or how sometimes they were simply implied rather than explored in detail. For a story about an incubus, I expected the sexual tension and scenes to be a bit more developed — longer than just two Kindle pages. At times, I even found myself a little confused by how quickly or vaguely some of those moments were handled. That said, this is just a personal preference — I’m sure plenty of readers will enjoy it as it is.
Overall, I’d rate it around 3.5 to 4 stars out of 5: strong in story, style, and atmosphere, but a little too light on the erotic depth for my taste.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
If you like a romance with unexpected twists and a villain surprise you MUST read this book. This series gets better with each book and I anxiously await the next installment. While each book is its own story, it is so much more enjoyable if the series is read from the beginning.
This romance has a bit of a slow burn but it sure seems like there is nothing better than a possessive Incubus in love! Lily gets fired, has a sleazoid hitting on her, accused of stealing code to name a few things that went wrong. She decides Julian is a good distraction as they definitely have chemistry. Little does she know she has set off a domino of events that will rock both their worlds!
Make sure you have time to read this book as it draws you in and you will want to turn off the world around you! Hoping we'll see Justin in the near future in another installment as it sound like he really deserves a happily ever after.

These stories are such a treat. I've enjoyed each and every one of them Lilly is one of the 3 witches that are all friends from previous books and she's worried because anyone who helped with the Dimensional hole than opened up in the last book is disappearing and she seems to be next on the list. Julian is an Incubus who owns a night club in town and he's made a safe haven for many of his own kind and can't understand why anyone would want to settle down with just one person until he meets Lilly he can't seem to get her out if his mind and when danger strikes he's there to offer an safe harbor. This is a great read with .magic, mystery a hint of danger and lots and lots of spicy chemistry! Such a fun read for a co!d winters night check it out if you like the series thus far you'll enjoy this one too. Totally recommend🔥💖🌟💖🔥🌟🔥💖🌟💖🔥🌟💖🔥🌟💖🔥🌟
I got this as a ALC from Dark Start Romance. This was only my second ever paranormal romance and the first of Maggie Mayhem’s books it was so cute. Lily is a witty witch who loses her job due to a douche bag who didn’t like being told NO. Her friends talk her into going to Delerium to dance it off. She figured why not? Drinks, dancing, friends and a run in with a HOT incubus Julian who owns the club what could go wrong?? What started off as being drugged turns into Lily being hunted. Julian is head over heels for Lily and will do anything to keep her safe and to have her as his. This book is definitely plot driven which I love. There isn’t a lot of spice but when there is it is HOT 🥵. The narrators were fantastic. Troy Duran is pretty much an auto listen for me. This was the first time I listened to something with Dani Soleil and she was awesome she killed the witty banter!! I would definitely recommend listening to this book if you have a chance.
Thank you to Maggie Mayhem and Darkstar Audio for providing an Advanced Listener Copy (ALC) of # 10 book in this series.
This book/audiobook is an interconnected standalone.
It is my first Maggie Mayhem monster romance book. She is an excellent writer with an inventive, detailed and well conceived magical world. I can’t wait to read the previous books in this series - to see what other magical creatures I’ve missed.
Troy Duran and Dani Soleil do a fantastic job of dual narrating this audiobook. Dani Soleil’s male voice and Troy Duran’s female voice are impressive! I would recommend listening to this one & the previous 9 audiobooks in the possessive monsters series without hesitation.
Incubus with Benefits is an engaging cozy mystery with a witch-incubus romantic pairing. Lilly & Julian have a host of friends/ found family to lean on.
I am delighted to have found a new go-to paranormal romance author !
This is one of those audiobooks that goes down easy. Paranormal, a little spicy, a little mystery, a lot of banter.
Julian the incubus is exactly what you expect, charming, possessive, a walking bad decision. Lily brings the sass, the danger, and just enough chaos to keep things moving. Their back and forth is easily the highlight.
On audio, this really works. Troy Duran and Dani Solie both deliver strong performances with clear, distinctive character voices and great energy. The production quality is polished, and while the pacing drags slightly, a quick speed bump fixes that instantly.
Story wise? It is… fine. Entertaining in the moment, but not particularly memorable. The stakes are there and the mystery ticks along, If you are here for a quick paranormal escape with solid narration and fun chemistry, it delivers. Just do not expect it to haunt you after the credits roll.
I'll admit, I didn't really like this book at first. I was worried for a bit that it was going to be a "closed door" romance because supposedly they did "something" but skimmed right over it, yet, when the spice actually appeared, they acted like it was their first time. Then I felt a wee bit disappointed because I was expecting major Incubus kinky scenes, but they started out... normal, lol. Thankfully, although not as descriptive as I would like (like erm... how she "felt" etc) it did get better. Aside from all that, I really enjoyed the playboy to forever transformation, it was sweet, they were both frazzled the whole time like a couple love sick teenagers. I'm still waiting on the "ghost girl" story, and now I'm very interested in the ghostly Incubus. And I'm also interested in those stupid prejudice cops getting their just desserts.
