Harvested By The Mountain Man: Fall For A Mountain Man

Rate this book
A single mom who’s stopped believing in fairytales.
A rugged mountain man who makes her dream again.
This fall, happily-ever-after is waiting in the pumpkin patch.
I stopped believing in fairytales the day I became a single mom.
Happy endings are for storybooks … not for women like me.
But when I take my little girl to the local pumpkin patch, the last thing I expect is him.
The mountain man who owns the farm is rugged and built like he was carved from the land itself. He makes my daughter laugh, carries the biggest pumpkins with ease, and looks at me like I might just be his harvest prize.
I should know better than to fall for fantasies. Yet every time his strong hands become so useful, every time he shows up to protect and provide, I start to wonder …
Maybe love can be as real as the autumn air.
Maybe this mountain man is the happily-ever-after I stopped believing in.
Harvested by the Mountain Man is a steamy, short instalove romance featuring a protective hero, a single mom in need of a second chance, and the cozy magic of fall. Guaranteed HEA included. Part of a multi-author collaboration Fall For The Mountain Man Series. Grab your favorite spiced autumn drink and devour all of these incredible stories.

Opal’s steamy stories frequently feature independent, strong-willed females who find themselves surprisingly swept away by alpha males who pursue them with vigor and passion. Ultimately, they can’t resist the sweet satisfaction and protection these men offer. Who could?

On Writing
Opal doesn’t like being restricted to what form her stories take. She breaks rules and bends things a bit to keep the tale the way the characters want it told.

In her writing, Opal Nicks explores many different facets of relationships. She hopes to captivate you with the nuances of love. Whether through a budding early relationship or a tension-filled reunion, she gracefully conveys the power and complexity of love-speak.

Her characters often possess an unbridled energy that gives them strength to take risks and traverse peril—all for love.

She built walls. He brought the tools to take them down.

Hannah’s spent years creating a quiet, safe world for her daughter Ivy. No distractions. No fairy tales. No more chances to get hurt. But when a run-in at the local harvest festival introduces her to Levi, a mountain man with steady hands and an even steadier heart, something unexpected begins to crack open.

Levi’s not interested in temporary. He works with his hands, lives by his word, and doesn’t back down when it matters. Hannah and Ivy stir something in him he can’t shake. As pieces of Hannah’s past begin to surface, Levi makes one thing clear: he’s not going anywhere.

What starts slow and careful becomes solid and real. Their connection grows through shared moments, quiet trust, and the kind of love that doesn't demand perfection. It’s strength wrapped in softness, built on showing up when it counts and holding on when it’s hard.

Hannah begins guarded, shaped by hurt and survival. Levi starts quiet but steady, carrying his own quiet ache for more. Together, they shift. She learns to lean. He learns to stay. Their relationship grows from tension to tenderness, from mutual respect to something deeply rooted and real.

A steamy, instalove, small town, single mom, mountain man romance with a protective hero and a slow-burning, emotionally rich bond. It explores trust, healing, second chances, found family, personal growth, and love, all wrapped in a tender but high-stakes connection. At its heart, it’s about choosing each other on purpose, protecting what matters, and building a life that’s messy, imperfect, and absolutely worth it.

Wow what a lovely story! If you believe in fairytales, this book meets the definition. Hannah and Ivy attend the Stone Valley Harvest Festival. Ivy is so excited and wants every pumpkin she sees. When Hannah and Levi see each other, it’s instalove. But Hannah doesn’t believe in fairytales and thinks Levi wouldn’t be interested in her. Levi, on the other hand, feels Hannah is his forever woman and wants to make that happen. As he works his magic to get close to Hannah, her fear of relationships spooks her. Levi wants to prove he will always be there and when danger appears, he is right there for both of them. They realize that sometimes you need to see life through a child’s eye to to see things less complicated. Will Hannah give love another chance and believe in fairytales? What a wonderful heart-felt story. This was a well-written story with hot chemistry between the characters. Highly recommend.

"Helpful's a start..."

This is a really sweet, heartwarming love story that offers Hannah a second chance at fairytale love, a love she no longer believed existed...until Levi. Levi shows her that love is possible, that some men are willing to be there for both the everyday things and the big things too. He doesn't have demands or expectations, just acceptance and protection and it is lovely to see Hannah lower her walls and open her heart to possibilities, happiness and a future as a family. Levi, Hannah and Ivy are all lovely characters, who are easy to like and Ivy has a joy and enthusiasm that automatically lifts your mood as she embraces every day.
A great read on Kindle Unlimited.

Hannah and Levi

HARVESTED BY THE MOUNTAIN MAN  is part of the multi-authored Fall For A Mountain Man series. It's a short and steamy, instalove, OTT, opposites-attract, curvy single mom gets her mountain man fall romance. Hannah is a curvy single mom to the adorable Ivy. Levi is a hunky pumpkin farm owner. When Hannah and Ivy show up at his farm for the local harvest festival, he is immediately drawn to them. He ends up stopping by a few days later and they start spending time together. Levi knows he wants to be a family. Hannah wants him too but is also scared as her ex just walked out on them 4 years ago. But Levi is willing to be patient. I loved this story so much. Ivy was such an adorable ray of sunshine. Levi was a hunky cinnamon roll, and Hannah was so strong. The chemistry was pure fire and the ending was so happy after a bit of angst. And the bonus epilogue was hot enough to melt my Kindle. I loved everything about this one!

When I began this book, I wanted to capture the wonder of autumn: crisp air, pumpkins everywhere, the glow of a harvest festival. But more than that, I wanted to explore the way life feels different through a child’s eyes ... how everything seems possible, even magical. Somewhere along the way, many of us lose that. What we expected to happen doesn't quite measure up. We convince ourselves that wishes are for other people, that magic is something we outgrow.

This story became my answer to that quiet ache. Hannah, Levi, and little Ivy reminded me that sometimes, the spark returns when we least expect it. The first hint of it came while riding a train through a pumpkin patch. It graduated as Levi's strong attraction to Hannah became something he couldn't ignore.

Writing this book was about rediscovering the beauty in second chances and believing, even as adults, that the magic can still find us.

I hope this story makes you smile,

Opal

This was a wonderful and heartwarming second chance romance that brings guarded Hannah and steadfast Levi together. She's not looking for love. In fact, doesn't believe in happy ever afters but Levi knows she's it for him and he shows her he's all in. That through the big and small events in life, he has her back and will treasure her heart. Of course, with cute Ivy in the mix, Levi's acceptance becomes something magical for Hannah and I loved seeing her open up again. This was a charming autumn romance with hot chemistry and I really enjoyed it :D
