Stella: The Landon Effect

Rate this book
Stella Cooper, a now former model and twin to an Oscar winning actress is happily living an obscure life of anonymity in the suburbs of Nashville as a history teacher.
But when the love of her adolescent life appears in a bar with a dare and a weekend away to see if their rare chemistry is still as powerful as they remember it, Stella is both entranced and terrified. Landon Cash is not just incredibly good looking, he also owns his own production company and is very much a part of her sister’s world. A world Stella had wanted nothing to do with.
As their relationship deepens there is more than the world finding out her identity to deal with; little by little her idea of being a retired model is chipped away. Suddenly she is back to finding herself in magazines and to her horror, national celebrity news casts. Plus producers are not nine to five men and Stella had never wanted a long distance relationship. But Landon is not just any man; he is the man that has made her heart stop since she was a freshman in high school.
Can Stella sacrifice her white picket fence dream and follow Landon into his world? Is there a happy median between obscurity and celebrity?
Find out as Stella discovers that the “Landon effect” might just change her life and her dreams forever.

*The Landon Effect is the second book in the Hollywood Secrets Series. This is a full novel and can be read separately or with the series. Characters enter mingle throughout the series and all of the novels do not end with cliffhangers.*

This was a fun book to read. Stella is a former model, now a high school history teacher. She never wanted to be in the limelight like her movie star sister, Sophie. One afternoon she is shocked to run into Landon - her soulmate - the one that got away. But Landon is a producer and Stella doesn't think she can handle being with someone who is on the road so much.
This was a very steamy and romantic story. I loved Stella's character and I loved how Landon didn't try to force her to be someone she isn't. The struggle they went through trying to balance their separate careers with spending time together (and staying out of the spotlight) was very interesting. I really like stories that have a happy ending, especially when the path to that happy ending is a difficult one. But from the beginning you could just feel the chemistry and attraction between Stella and Landon.
If you haven't already read the first book (Sophie: Smart Love) this one will still make perfect sense to you, so you won't be lost. But I would still recommend reading both of them.
