I'm falling for the billionaire CEO I swore to destroy.
I've spent five years fighting corporate destroyers like Chase Breckham. When his pharmaceutical company threatens to strip-mine the Louisiana bayou I call home, I chain myself to his bulldozers.
I expect another soulless villain. Instead, I find a man haunted by his sister's death, developing cancer treatments from rare swamp plants.
When Chase offers two weeks to prove his environmental commitment, I agree against every screaming instinct.
The explosive attraction between us feels like betrayal to everything I believe.
Then someone starts playing deadly games with our lives.
Corporate enemies unleash arson, death threats, and frame me for terrorism to destroy our partnership. As danger escalates, Chase and I must choose between trusting each other completely or losing everything.
But when you're falling for the enemy, trust becomes the most dangerous risk of all.
Every kiss feels like surrender. Every touch makes me question everything I thought I knew about good and evil.
The problem? Saving the swamp might mean losing my heart to the man I came here to hate.

This was a great page turner! The energy and suspense made this book hard to put down. The main characters were very well developed and believable. A lot of the story kept me on the edge of my seat want to know what was going to happen next. Just when I thought it was resolved Tansy amped it up! It was not a predictable storyline. The ups and downs and circling back was very well executed. I liked the Cherry’s spunk and determination and that Tansy made her realistic in that she wasn’t invincible but that she had the ability to move forward despite certain events. Chase’s character was enduring at first and then Tansy wrote him with some real flaws that make him real. I liked how she had the characters work through things and explained how they reached the end that they did. Well done Tansy!!! I look forward to the next book. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Honestly, I’m conflicted about this book. Is it a page turner? yes. Is it unpredictable? yes. However I also found it to be repetitive. Chase and Cherry go through the same argument multiple times saying and doing extremely hurtful things to each other, and honestly what Chase did in my opinion, is unforgivable, not only because there was no consideration for Cherry’s feelings but because he actually admitted to enjoying some aspect of the act. It’s really hard to move on from that point on in the book and root for Cherry and him to be together. I think there are better ways to make a book unpredictable than essentially ruining the whole concept of their love and relationship. All in all, it’s a book that kept me on my toes but ultimately disappointed and emotionally drained me, by 83% of the way through I was ready for the book to end.
-An enemies-to-lovers romance brimming with angst, suspense, and sizzling tension. I received a free copy and am voluntarily sharing my honest thoughts.
Cherry’s strength and resilience make her a heroine to root for throughout. Chase’s flaws bring both frustration and depth, keeping emotions raw and real.
Twists, betrayals, and passion make this an unpredictable page-turner. Some of the decisions made by the characters don’t sit well with me.
Chase is out to prove that he’s not in it for the money to this honey chained to his bulldozer . She gives him two weeks to prove that he’s not some crazed landowner and that he cares . But now someone has them both running scared. His enemies are not just corporate sharks ,they mean business and these dangerous games have nothing on the turmoil between them … hot and intimate as well as intriguing and downright dangerous . Be careful who’s bed you step into in the dark because you might not step back out in the cold light of day… Some well written angst by Tansy Rhodes
