The Colour of Hope is a thought-provoking, uplifting story about how love can give people the courage to seek out joy and purpose in life, from billion-copy bestselling author, Danielle Steel.
Isolated and disconnected after her husband’s death, Los Angeles gallery owner Sabrina Thompson escapes to a charming fishing village in south-west France, seeking refuge in the beautiful Château de Bonport.
Xavier de Bonport, the owner of the château, is still reeling from the failure of his business during the pandemic, which in turn dealt the final blow to his faltering marriage.
As the pair are inspired by each other and the history and charm of the chateau, Sabrina begins to heal and regain a sense of purpose by involving herself in the community. And Xavier begins to recognize what he needs to take a necessary step forward in both his professional and personal life.
Sometimes new beginnings can lift people up and give them the courage to heal . . .

This 70 year old would have been a teenager when I read her first book, there have been few in the intervening decades. I can see why there are so many 5 star reviews, but not for me. I felt like this was a novel for someone with mild cognitive decline. in the first five pages some topics were repeated 3 or 4 times. The emphasis on money and money and money got a little tiring. But , to each her own!
I loved this book . Sabrina was very inspiring on many levels. And I loved the honesty she portrayed. I will read more Danielle Steeles now. It took a while for me to adjust to her style after reading Colleen Hoovers intricate style. But definitely recommend .
You know that feeling you get after turning the last page of a book, when your heart feels full? I just finished The Colour of Hope by Danielle Steel, and that is exactly how I feel. My heart is too full to think about anything else.
This was my first DS book, and I absolutely loved it. It made me want to explore more of her works.
The highlight of the book for me was Arcangues and its blue. As I read, I felt like I was right there in that chateau, in Arcangues. The story flowed so smoothly that it never felt dragged or filled with unnecessary drama. It was perfect the way it unfolded.
Sabrina’s story was truly inspirational. The way she bounced back to life was magnificent. Her relationship with Xavier felt so natural because it grew slowly. There was no rush, and the pacing suited them perfectly. Sabrina fostering those three kids was the most heartfelt part of the story. The way she helped them face their trauma and taught them to fall in love with life again felt magical.
I don’t think the story could have had a better title than The Colour of Hope. That Arcangues blue was more than just a colour. It symbolised so much that when Sabrina described it as the colour of hope, it felt completely fitting.
If you love stories filled with hope, warmth, inspiration and a touch of romance, The Colour of Hope by Danielle Steel is the perfect pick.

Hadn’t read one of her books for a number of years of years but used to be a huge fan Sadly it was very predictable and the one male voice made it more boring I was really disappointed she’s had some fabulous books over the years sorry not for me
