This book was a gift and I thought it was a nice book for a kid, which it definitely is (probably in the 10-13 yr-old range) but after reading I realized it's just a nice book for any age. It's designed well and each aspect of Roman life is organized into brief little chapters to provide a general summary for each. The best part is the lavish illustrations, art reproductions depicting relevant events, and interactive foldout pages. Although it's not going to shed new light on Roman history for anyone who has studied the subject before, it is a fun way to visually engage in Roman history in book form.
