When autumn arrives in Maplewood Hollow, the air smells of cinnamon, cider, and secrets.
Claire Bell loves running her café, Hearthstone, especially during the Fall Festival. Between pumpkin bread in the oven and lattes topped with cinnamon swirls, it should be her favorite time of year. But when a local developer collapses at her patio table, after reaching for the café’s spice shaker, Claire’s peaceful world is turned upside down.
Now the small-town barista finds herself in the middle of a murder investigation. With the café’s reputation on the line and whispers of poison in the air, Claire teams up with her best friend Ivy (bookstore owner and professional gossip collector) and the town’s steady detective, Caleb Marsh. Together, they’ll sift through a swirl of suspects.
Everyone has a motive. Everyone has something to hide. And someone in Maplewood Hollow has turned a cozy festival into the perfect cover for murder.
Filled with warm drinks, small-town charm, and a dash of slow-burn romance, The Pumpkin Spice Secret is the perfect cozy mystery for fans of autumn nights, clever sleuths, and pumpkin spice everything.
Curl up with your favorite mug, this mystery is brewing.
This has a lot of potential, it’s just way too short. But the cozy factor is there, so if you have a few minutes and want to sit down with a mug of pumpkin spice, this is the book to do it with! 🎃
I read this story very quickly. It is a short story but an interesting one. I found the writing a bit different. At times a bit disjointed in a complete way. I know that sounds strange but the words were at times part of a partial thought that brought the story into focus. The romance in the background really pervaded the story and added a bit of "spark." This is a murder mystery that was pretty easy to guess the culprit but the journey to the reveal was a good one. I will be looking for more stories by this author.
Short story that has Claire and her shop intertwined with a dead body on her patio. This story has a bit of everything you want in a Cozy. Mystery, suspense, a dead body and a Hint of romance.
This story had a lot of potential. I really liked the characters and the plot, I just wish that there was more to it. With the story being so short I feel like we missed out a lot of important details. I Would definitely read more from this author.
