Getting to step into Kinlear’s mind completely changed how I see him after Ravenminder. This novella adds a tragic, fated weight to his character, especially as we see how long he’s been haunted and how isolating his childhood really was.
The sibling dynamics between Kinlear and Arawn were a huge highlight for me, there’s so much love, resentment and loyalty wrapped up in their relationship.
I’m still Team Arawn 😝 but I'd pick Kinlear to be on my team any day.
Overall, a fantastic companion to Ravenminder! I’m already hungry for whatever comes next.
I was so very fortune to receive an eARC from the author and this novella blew me away! Kinlear’s POV completely changed my perspective of him and his tragic story. Seeing just how much he suffered through because of his illness and his dreams reshaped his place in this world the author created. One my favorite quotes was “He screamed his defiance to the dark, until the desperation became fury. Until he felt like a wild animal howling into the abyss. He screamed until his soul felt ragged, as he begged for someone, anyone, to hear him.” I cannot wait to see what’s next in this series!!
Read Ravenminder first. releasing Dec 30th. thank you author Lindsay Cummings for the opportunity to read this early!
Ravenminder left us on a huge cliff hanger, so I could not wait to get my hands on this one for a behind the scenes look from Kinlear's POV. I am team Kinlear, so getting to know more of his story was a dream come true! the way my eyes devoured those last 3 chapters should be illegal. you are going to need this as soon as it releases... and don't miss that swoon worthy cover !!
5 star, all the vibes, chefs kiss... immediately diving into Firemage next!
Ravenminder was already one of my favourite books of 2025, and this novella just absolutely confirmed that we are getting something really special with this series. Thank you so much to Lindsay for the ARC, I can't wait to start Firemage. Full review coming soon!
I was super lucky to get the e-ARC from the author during one of her giveaways on Facebook. I read this in one sitting! I loved getting Kinlear's POV. I really feel for him! We get to see the isolation he felt when he was a child. How he felt about Ezer. Can't wait to start Arawn's POV next!
ARC review 5 ⭐️ I loved Kinlear in Ravenminder and now I love him even more. I don’t know what side you want us all switching to, Lindsay, but now I’m scared to read Firemage 😂
Despised by his mother (I hate her), mocked by everyone, and constantly suffering. Getting to experience the Ravenminder events through Kinlear’s POV was truly a gift!
After his “betrayal” in book one, I refused to feel any sympathy for him. I was done. But reading his version of the events completely shattered that mindset. Everything changed.
This novella was an absolute page-turner. I devoured it. I did not expect that turn of events. Kinlear’s perspective is utterly heartbreaking. The way his pain is ignored by his family, how his body is slowly destroyed, how everything is always taken from him… it hurt to read.
I suffered with him. And I will never see Kinlear the same way again. His story lingers like a scar…
So, this book is the POV of our one MMC, Kinlear, during the events that take place during Ravenminder.
Kinlear is our very damaged man. We already know that he’s the one that I fell in love with. I just love him. So. Dang. Much.
I can’t even explain what this book meant. It touched my soul. I couldn’t stop reading. It’s more than just his POV. It’s his inner thoughts. It’s why he is the way he is. It’s the very workings of his inner self and soul.
