Technically Abducted

Book 4 of the Nereidan Compatibility Program Series

Finn Sullivan was fixing restaurant systems at 3 AM when he got dragged off his apartment floor by a glowing blue alien who clearly had zero appreciation for his perfectly organized chaos.

Then there's Tev'ra, Nereidan systems specialist with the galaxy's most rigid protocols. His people need to assess human technical innovation for their compatibility program. Unfortunately, Finn's "controlled chaos" approach breaks every rule in Tev'ra's manual.

Now Finn's stuck on an alien ship for 72 hours with a formal researcher who glows when flustered and thinks cable management is a character flaw. Meanwhile, his clients' systems are crashing back on Earth, and the empathic bond sparking between them definitely wasn't in the assessment parameters.

Because falling for your methodical abductor is complicated enough without adding scientific protocols, cultural barriers, and the fact that some connections are worth abandoning every protocol for.

A steamy sci-fi romance featuring reluctant abduction, bioluminescent feedback, tech support emergencies, and the revolutionary concept that sometimes the best solutions can't be optimized. Low angst, high heat, guaranteed HEA.

Alien abduction • Reluctant attraction • Forced proximity • Size difference • Bioluminescent alien • Empathic bond • Order vs chaos • Touch-starved • Professional competence kink

Caitlin was fortunate growing up to be surrounded by family and teachers that encouraged her love of reading. She has always been a voracious reader and that love of the written word easily morphed into a passion for writing. If she isn't writing, she can usually be found studying as she works toward her counseling degree. She comes from a military family and the men and women of the armed forces are close to her heart. She also enjoys gardening and horseback riding in the Colorado Rockies where she calls home with her wonderful fiance and their dog. Her belief that there is no one true path to happily ever after runs deeply through all of her stories.

DNF at 30% in, but then I read quite a few paragraphs throughout the book, mostly because of Alex, whose book is coming next.

This was a filler book, nothing else. And this time I'll rate it for all the bad things this series has to offer.

Tev'ra and Finn are dry as a Sahara

Completely formulaic, with the exact same thing happening over and over again in every book, except for one twist this time, the Nereidan doesn’t know that the real purpose of the space compatibility program is to integrate humans into Nereidan society and that forming an empathic bond basically means you get to keep the human.

But how did Tev’ra not know this? These aliens do everything by the book. They’re extremely strict, their scientists are highly valued and it’s been a year since humans started living there, so how the hell was he never updated on what’s actually going on??

I couldn't care less about the romance, it's not readable, the main characters not even remotely interesting and their love connection is lost in all the formal "scientific, methodical, parameters, bioluminescence, protocol, assessment" talk.

Same words, just recycled a little bit and put into an almost 300 page love story that had no business being this long.

I hope Alex gets a good book.

ONE OF THE BEST

It’s incredible how a mesmerizing, blue-energized light that can teleport people across galaxies and planets can evoke such profound emotions in me. Finn, a young man raised in a foster care system that exposed its harsh realities, found solace and purpose through his internet service. Despite his belief in loneliness, his life took an unexpected turn when he was abducted by a captivating, tall, and blue alien with mesmerizing golden eyes. His body’s skin would produce multicolored swirls and designs that were intricately connected to Finn’s & Tev’ra’s (BLUE) emotions. The profound connection they share is both erotic and beautiful.

I absolutely loved this book.

Fantastic Series!!!

I just finished the fourth book in this series, Technically Abducted and I have to say I just devoured these book!!
I loved everything about this series-each of the couples were amazing but I have to say that Finn and Tre’va have a special place in my heart. This story took me through all the feels and it was fantastic.
Finn had this touching vulnerability that was just beautiful, and Tre’va’s sweet caretaking was perfect for him.
I loved every minute of reading these stories and I can’t wait to read about Alex’s story next!!
Highly recommend !!

I expected to love it like I loved the first two ones but this plot is getting old 😭 I feel like it's the same thing over and over again.
I'm not gonna lie I've stopped reading it at 64% because it just feels really predictable.
it's still very cute but their personalities are weird and the whole plot makes less and less sense so I feel like this might be the end for me. I don't know if the ending is worth it or will redeem everything else though

Solid 3.25, maybe even a 3.5.

Tev'ra is at a loss when Finn, the human he kidnaps for 72 hours of observation digs his heels in and REFUSES to participate until he can take care of some stuff on earth. Finn cares little for Tev'ra's feelings, at least in the beginning. All he knows is that he has clients who need him and can't up and disappear for days.

As with the others, eventually love develops. It's a smidge angsty as Finn has to take the reigns to snag his man permanently.
