Treasures of Halstead Manor #3

The Hidden Key of Brooke Sumner

Rate this book
Will the key unlock more than a vault filled with treasure?

Brooke Sumner has been carefully avoiding Storm Whitlock ever since he betrayed her trust. When he joins Caspar's mysterious treasure-hunting group, she steps away to focus on her antique shop and keep herself busy.

Then Caspar invites her back for one final assignment, and Brooke is torn. Returning to Halstead Manor to help the team find the second half of a key is intriguing. It also means she'd be working with Storm. But she doesn't trust his motives, so she reluctantly rejoins to keep him in check.

As they dive into their expedition, Brooke finds her heart softening toward those she'd once held at arm's length. And is it possible she misunderstood Storm's betrayal of their friendship?

"In this friends-to-more romance, we get to see the beauty of being known, being loved, and finding the people who want to walk alongside us." —Toni Shiloh, Christy Award-winning author

Great ending to a fun treasure hunting, Charlie's Angels matchup series! I really enjoyed how it all wrapped up and the fun surprises along the way.

I really enjoyed Brooke's story, I've been looking forward to hers since the very beginning. The banter between her and Storm was lots of fun and I especially loved the "playlist!" What a fun idea to add to the story. There's one particular scene that just had me swooning all over the place, if you know you know!

My love of treasure, friendship and romances was satisfied throughout. Good writing and a fun time! The series is all out now too, so you can go and binge read to your heart's content!

If you are looking for adventure, travel, and heart-pounding action, this is the book-the SERIES-you need to read.

This book has fabulous, witty banter, humor, and depth, all while keeping you on the edge of your seat.

Pretty sure that makes this the perfect read!

Susan Tuttle's books just keep getting better and better. I was hooked with the first book in this series, completely invested with the second, and hanging on every word with this third one. What a perfect conclusion to the series!

I have been a fan of the Treasures of Halstead Manor since the first book released a couple of years ago. The mystery elements in this series have kept me guessing and the second in the series was one of my top reads for 2025. So this final story had a lot to live up to for me. Wowza, this was an incredible finale! Brooke and Storm’s relationship was a fantastic layer to the mystery the crew is trying to solve and I loved how all certain threads were woven together for this story. The ending kind of blew my mind, but I loved it. This is one of my favorite contemporary series and one that will be needing a binge reread soon now that I know how all the pieces fit. Absolutely fabulous!

I received a copy of this book through JustRead Tours and was not required to post a positive review. All thoughts are my own.

"A life without hope might feel safe, but it's actually the most dangerous place to be. Without hope, our world turns dark."

I have loved each and every book in this series and cannot believe that this book concludes the delightful adventures of Everleigh, Natalie, and Brooke along with their significant others. As in the previous books, the team jet sets and travels through London, Rome, and Spain and I absolutely loved traveling with them and experiencing the sights, sounds, smells and foods. This time around their mission was to recover a key that unlocks the hidden wealth of the Perez family. Jerrick was the voice that filled in the backstory this time and his life story was so tragic and heart-breaking. There are plenty of plot twists and gasp-worthy surprises to have you clinging to the edge of your seat and reading way past your bedtime. And the grand reveal at the end! I could not have predicted that in a million years.
Brooke was a complex character, scarred from the foster care system but longing for the softer touches of family, home and love. Storm was not as complex as Brooke painted him; Storm simply lived to honor and trust God and protect and love Brooke. Their banter and lifelong friendship and trust were beautiful things to behold, even if Brooke resisted against all these things thinking she had been betrayed by Storm.
I truly enjoyed catching up with Everleigh and Niles, Gertie and Burt, and Natalie and Mason while getting to know Brooke, Storm and Jerrick better.
If you enjoy history, art, and adventure with a generous splash of faith, suspense, romance and puzzle-solving, this is a perfect book for you. I highly recommend picking up all three books of the series and reading them back to back. You will thank me for it.

I received a complimentary copy courtesy of Kregel Publications via JustRead Tours and NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a positive comment. All opinions are my own.

The Hidden Key of Brooke Sumner brings the Treasures of Halstead Manor series to a thrilling conclusion, once again taking Everleigh, Natalie, Brooke, and their entourage on a mind-bending adventure (which I'll admit I struggled to keep up with at times). Tuttle capitalizes on found family, bodyguard, and friends to enemies to more tropes in this finale, and she held my attention from the opening pages.

Contentious as it was, I loved Storm and Brooke's relationship and all their banter. The foundation of their childhood friendship shone through in every encounter, and I loved reading about all the ways they came through for each other as children. I will admit I was annoyed that Storm couldn't reveal everything to Brooke until near the end of the book, but it was necessary to the plot, I suppose.

Tuttle is NOT easy on her characters. The stakes were high from page one, both for Brooke and for Storm in his own issue. Watching Brooke navigate her pain was hard at times, and I wish the faith content could have been a bit more consistent throughout--the end revelation felt a bit too neat and pretty. I liked the message that we can have peace through the storms of life when we put our trust in Jesus, but I don't think it's always quite so easy as simply making a choice. It's a daily battle.

I liked the look at how the foster care system can adversely impact kiddos, especially if they're passed from home to home and never adopted. As for the romance, the romantic tension between Brooke and Storm felt a bit excessive at times, and Storm really played into it, but I guess their friendship made it feel less bothersome than it otherwise might have been.

It was exciting to finally discover more of Caspar's story, and the ending was shocking--it definitely tied up some loose threads I've been wondering about through the book and series. Overall a satisfactory read, and much cleaner than book 2 (I wasn't comfortable with fade-to-black between a married couple, which might be fine for others!)

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are my honest opinion.

The Hidden Key of Brooke Sumner is a thrilling adventure of faith, romance, and adventure with a plenty of suspense to keep you at the edge of your seat. Storm and Brooke's book wove together a beautiful story of a secretly desired romance between life long friends overcoming obstacles in their journey of love, healing, and forgiveness.

Storm was our protective hero whose actions were scrutinized relentlessly by our brave heroine Brooke. I love how each one of his steps was taken in order to protect Brooke even though Brooke was too blinded by animosity to see it that way. It was a beautiful example of scattered puzzle pieces coming together to create a beautiful work of art. Even as a reader, I loved that we weren't sure of Storm's exact motives. That aspect had me even more immersed in the story.

I loved the treasure hunting aspect and look forward to going back and reading the first two books of the series to see more of this ragtag group's adventures. The ending was chef's kiss perfect with an epilogue that was even more satisfying than I hoped it would be.

I highly recommend The Hidden Key of Brooke Sumner and know that anyone interested in Christian romance will adore Brooke and Storm and their relatable flaws.

"Gertie had made some strong points, ones Brooke couldn’t ignore. The balance began to tip toward her return. She still had questions. “Has Caspar said what it is he needs to find?” “Not in great detail. Though we know the first step is tracking down something that pairs with what we found tucked into the spine of Alice’s Adventures Under Ground.” She’d known about the book, but not that it secretly held something. “Which was?” “Half of a key.” Curiosity welled. “How does one make half a key?” “I suppose the same way one makes a whole key, except they create it in pieces that can be split apart,” Gertie said."

As an antique dealer, Brooke is used to hunting down items of importance. But she never thought that it would involve treasure. Yet when an eccentric old man reached out to her, she became involved in unexpected quests with others who started as strangers. While she wouldn't quite yet call them friends, she at least started to appreciate their abilities.

Until conflicts came. Now her ex-business partner is involved. And she doesn't know what to think of anything. Can she figure out the truth of what is going on? Can she return to what her life was like before? Or does she even want to do that?

While one could potentially read this book as a standalone, I highly suggest reading the other two books in the series first. This is one of my favorite trilogies ever. While certain parts are suspenseful, the plot is more of a mystery to solve. And I was completely shocked at the ending. In fact, now I want to read the whole series again to figure out how everything connects. Brilliantly written!

Beyond the clues, the characters are all on journeys of their own. For Brooke, she needs to overcome the heartache of the past. How she goes about doing this is an important part of the plot. Romance is one element. So is faith. Equally important is the joy found in unexpected friends. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.

I wish the series did not have to end. So glad I was able to get an advance copy of this book as a part of a review tour. I definitely wanted to read and review this book. All opinions are my own.

The Hidden Key of Brooke Sumner is the final book in the Treasures of Halstead Manor, written by Susan L. Tuttle. If you have not read this series, you are truly missing out. If you love Christian mystery romance with treasure hunting, this is the series for you. I recommend starting at the beginning of this series.

For book three, we get Brooke’s story, and more details behind Brooke and Storm’s relationship.  Brooke and Storm both grew up in the foster care system. With this shared camaraderie, they have been through it all. When Storm starts working for their biggest rival, their relationship is jilted. When the team reunites to find the last piece of this puzzle, Brooke finds Storm trying to help. They reconnect with their shared love for music. But Storm can not be trusted.

The team is all working together to find the hidden key. Flying off to see if they hunt it down before someone else gets it first. Filled with mystery and adventure, this story kept me turning the pages.

Susan L. Tuttle did a great job of intertwining faith throughout the story.
The romance was kisses only.

I love that each book focuses on one main character and their backstory. The ending totally caught me off guard. I did not expect that outcome.
The Hidden Key of Brooke Sumner was the perfect ending to the series. Sad to say goodbye, but worth every part of the journey.

it's the final treasure hunter for brooke sumner and her friends—plus the man she's been trying to avoid, storm whitlock. they may have grown up together, but when he became involved in some shady business dealings, she could no longer see him as her most trusted friend. of course, now they're forced to work together, and that time together just might give her the perspective she needs to give him a second chance...

the hidden key of brooke sumner is a sweet conclusion to susan l. tuttle's treasures of halstead manor series. it's got plenty of adventure and action—along with uplifting moments of faith and some really special reveals. i loved seeing brooke making discoveries not only about the treasure, but also about herself, while storm's just helping her along the way, patiently waiting for her to be ready to accept his feelings. they have such a fun dynamic, too, where their connection and chemistry is oh so evident (the exchanging of songs is so fun!), even while brooke's holding him at arm's length.

fans of the series won't be disappointed with this third book. if you've loved the rest of the series, definitely pick it up!

(i received a complimentary copy from the author and/or publisher. i was not required to write a positive review, and all the opinions i have expressed are my own.)

considerations:
—language: none
—spice: kisses only
—faith: consistent christian themes and mentions
—content: violence, murder, mentions of foster care, parental abandonment, and illness

This book series has everything I love the most in books: treasure hunt stories, found family, puzzles, trauma past, slow burn, tear jerking moments. I enjoyed this book so much. Brooke Sumner grew up in foster care, and from an early age it was along side her best friend Storm. Currently, she and Storm aren't really on speaking terms any more, and she had decided to separate from her current group of friends as well. But circumstances bring them all together again for another grand and risky adventure to locate amazing, historical, rare artwork. After finding a lost diamond and a rare manuscript together, the group work together while Brooke faces an inner battle for a sense of identity, belonging and peace. In the end, she and the whole team find even more than they hoped.

I love these characters. The shared trauma and strong friendship that link Brooks and Storm lend to amazing tension and a strong foundation for friends to enemies to more. The clue following, puzzle solving plot is unique and well-paced, and I enjoyed the tie to history and well known art. The fact that the story revolved around a real missing piece of art makes it even more interesting.

I did receive a free eARC to read from JustRead Book Tours. All thoughts shared are my honest opinion.

Caspar is at again in Susan L. Tuttle’s The Hidden Key of Brooke Sumner, the third installment of Ms. Tuttle’s Treasures of Halstead Manor series as he assembles the group for one last treasure hunt! Brooke Sumner wants nothing to do with this latest treasure hunt, for various reasons: 1.) Brooke does not want to have anything to do with Caspar’s former life of crime and 2.) Brooke also wants to avoid the newest member to the group, her one-time best friend, Storm. Unfortunately, the treasure hunt is too magnificent to ignore and requires both Brooke’s and Storm’s expertise in art and antiques. Being abandoned and growing up in foster care, Brooke has always looked for that one person she can depend on that will love her. Brooke thought that was Storm, especially since they grew up in foster care together. When Storm chooses business over Brooke, Brooke severs ties with Storm—or at least tries to. Storm knows he messed up and will do whatever he can to be back in Brooke’s good graces to restore the relationship they once had. As Storm and Brooke cross the globe in search of Caspar’s latest treasure—this time for half a key—danger lurks at every leg of the journey where Brooke learns powerful lessons of Trust and being Truly Loved.

Susan L. Tuttle has once again swept me into an escape of Charlie’s Angel’s-like proportions with whispers of National Treasure mixed in with The Hidden Key of Brooke Sumner! I loved getting to know Brooke better. I thought the dynamic of Storm and Brooke was fiery. Though I will admit, I wasn’t quite sure where I stood with Storm at first. But Storm sure won me over as the book progressed. I loved how even though Brooke wanted nothing to do with Storm, Storm still found a way to get close, albeit at arm’s length, and it was as if they were back to their old antics again. (I really loved how they communicated with each other via songs and their titles!) My heart really broke for what Storm and Brooke both went through in foster care, but at the same time I could see how Ms. Tuttle wrote it so that the Reader could see how God’s Hand was on their life and it made me thankful that they had one another. I thoroughly loved the Journey that Brooke went on in the book and it really Ministered to me. There was a scene in The Hidden Key of Brooke Sumner where Brooke used the story of Jesus calming the storm to illustrate and articulate her difficulties with God that really hit me hard because I have been there too with those types of questions and frustrations towards God. I also loved the analogy that Brooke’s friend Everleigh gave about God and artwork. (Read The Hidden Key of Brooke Sumner for all the details!) I loved being reunited with Gertrude and seeing how she has bonded with everyone in Caspar’s group since I last saw her. As always, Gertrude’s sage-blunt advice is always on point! I loved the intrigue and danger that was in The Hidden Key of Brooke Sumner! I thought the search for half a key and the puzzlers that came with it were innovative because I don’t ever remember coming across it in a book before. I loved how when all the cards fell, and when everything was said and done, Brooke saw first hand what True Love and Sacrifice looked like. I also love how Ms. Tuttle wrote the characters of Adam and Caspar to model True Love and Sacrifice. The Hidden Key of Brooke Sumner was a fitting end to the Treasures of Halstead Manor series that I was sad to see come to an end! (Ms. Tuttle, please continue the Treasures of Halstead Manor series in some way!) I highly recommend The Hidden Key of Brooke Sumner by Susan L. Tuttle!

This story met a place in me that knows the weight of opening your heart and the quiet instinct to guard it when trust has already been shaken. That tension stayed with me. It shaped the way I read every interaction … every pause … every moment … every bit of banter where something deeper could have been spoken and remained just beneath the surface.

Brooke and Storm carry a shared history that feels present in every page. Their connection holds memory, music, and years of knowing that do not disappear. I could feel that familiarity and the uncertainty resting beside it … the kind that lingers when something once steady has not been fully understood. That question kept pressing inward … how much of what we hold is shaped by what we believe happened, and what it means when that understanding is incomplete.

I paused many times while reading. I felt it in my chest … that tightening that comes when something reaches deeper than expected. I smiled, I sat with it, I cried, I stayed a long time. There was ache, there was comfort, and there was recognition … there was a lot, and I felt all of it.

A line stayed with me and would not let go: “Whatever this treasure is, it’ll sort itself out. At the end of the day, it’s just stuff … People are different.”

It brought everything into focus. It drew my attention to what carries weight and what remains. It moved the story inward, pressing gently against the places shaped by loneliness, by self-protection, by the instinct to hold back what matters most.

And then… Jesus.

Jesus as Treasure.
Steady. Certain.
The One who brings truth into what has been misunderstood, who reveals what was hidden, who shows that what once felt like betrayal or forgottenness was love carrying, protecting, guiding, and present every second.

That truth settled deeply as I read, and when I reached the author’s note, I slowed down. What had been carried quietly through the story was spoken clearly and anchored fully in Him. It held weight beyond the final page. This is everything to me!

This is why I return to Tuttle’s writing. She beautifully writes with eternal truths and living out our purpose here on earth with amazing intention, with compassionate clarity, with a wonderful willingness to bring what is broken, misunderstood, guarded, and hidden into the light of Jesus. She weaves all of this into the lives of the characters she creates.

Readers who have wrestled with loneliness, self-protection, and a quiet ache of holding back … and everyone else … will enjoy this treasure of a book!

I received a paperback edition of this book, and I purchased the audiobook and the Kindle edition. I am not required to write a positive review nor paid to do so. This is my honest and unbiased review. My thoughts and opinions expressed in this book review are my own. My review focuses on the writing and the story’s content, ensuring transparency and reliability.

Oh my goodness! I loved this thrilling conclusion to the Treasures of Halstead Manor series! Childhood friends-to-enemies-to-more is a favorite, & Susan L. Tuttle delivers all the wit, charm, and sizzling undercurrent of attraction in The Hidden Key of Brooke Sumner. Brooke’s story is one of heartbreak & resilience as we learn about her foster care past. She doesn’t trust easily, & when her childhood friend Storm betrays her, she’s devastated. Yet, she still needs his help to find another lost treasure. Despite his charm & good looks getting under her skin, she must guard her heart.

This was a wild, globe-trotting adventure, from Illinois to Spain to Rome & Greece. I loved being back with the Halstead Manor gang, this time searching for a lost painting holding the other half of a key to an unimaginable treasure. Brooke has to be coaxed into returning, but the pull of the treasure & Storm brings her back.

The chemistry between Brooke & Storm is electric. Their banter, especially through songs, was so fun & unique. I also loved Brooke’s chocolate obsession & all the delicious food woven into their travels. They share so much history & can almost read each others’ minds, but that rift runs deep. Brooke can’t trust him after he left their antique business to work for a shady organization with questionable methods. Storm is a loving, protective hero with secrets hidden beneath the surface & is determined to win her back, but Brooke’s past fears hold her back.

The clever mystery is packed with twists! Someone else is after the treasure & will do anything to get it. I loved piecing together the clues, & the Charlie’s Angels–style team dynamic. Caspar’s identity & connections are finally revealed & it’s shocking!

Brooke’s faith journey was beautifully done. I loved how Rembrandt’s The Storm on the Sea of Galilee was woven throughout, & how Storm helps her see that God may not calm all the storms, but she can find peace through Him.

A wonderful conclusion to a fabulous series! I’m so sad to see it end, but can’t wait to reread it with all the puzzle pieces in place. Highly recommend for cozy inspirational mystery lovers! To avoid spoilers & fully enjoy the journey, I suggest reading the series in order, though the author does a great job catching readers up along the way. I received an advanced copy from the publisher with no expectation of a positive review. All opinions are completely my own & provided voluntarily.

This was such a fun, romantic adventure story but it also had depth to it and a great message. I was a little worried that I might feel lost, seeing as this is book three, but other than a few references to the past, it worked well as a stand-alone. The treasure hunt aspect was fun, especially as they tried to decipher clues to figure out their next step. There was also plenty of romantic tension as Storm and Brooke used to be best friends who secretly loved each other and now they're enemies, at least from her point of view. You quickly find out something's up with Storm as he's trying to protect Brooke and maybe his betrayal isn't quite what it seems. I loved the songs they would send back and forth as messages they were trying to convey, whether silly or serious. I knew most but had to look up a couple to see what they were and it was fun to have a soundtrack for the book. I also liked the references to different artwork and also looked up a couple to find out if what they were saying was true about it in real life and it was! I liked the exciting action but also felt that the deep conversations were well done as both Gertie and Storm, especially, had a lot of wisdom for Brooke if she'd hear it on an emotional and spiritual level. They had strong faith and Brooke struggled with her identity and worth as she felt abandoned over and over in foster care. Gertie also pointed out that you need to go by the truth of who God is, not feelings which aren't always reliable. One thing I still don't understand is why Storm couldn't tell Brooke the whole story sooner and instead had to let her feel betrayed for over a year. There were some twists, one which I figured out but a bigger one I didn't see coming! I'm looking forward to reading the first two and I highly recommend this book!

(Treasures of Halstead Manor: book 3)

This book ties together so many aspects from the previous two adventures! The further I read, the more I could see how the series has been building up to this final treasure hunt for a hidden key (and more...), and I was SO intrigued to see how every piece of the grand journey would fit together!

There's a higher sense of danger/high-stakes too, but I liked how things are balanced so the action doesn't overshadow fun intrigue while searching for clues. And there are plenty of moments to enjoy beautiful European locations, which is something I've enjoyed so much throughout the entire series!

The clean (kisses only) romance is a unique mix! Enemies-to-romance is one of my favorite fictional setups, but there's a sense of friends-to-more and second chances too. I loved that blend!

And the Christian content is great! I especially liked how various faith conversations impact Brooke's personal growth. (Also, Aunt Gertie deserves a special mention for her moments of wisdom... and her clever puns, of course... She's definitely one of my favorite characters!)

If you've been following along with the Halstead treasure hunters, this is an epic adventure not to miss!

*Content to note*
....May contain minor spoilers.....
Characters discuss pasts in foster care/fears of abandonment. Brief discussions of a childhood illness and mild diabetes symptoms. Mentions of pregnancies before marriage. Mentions of past murder (no graphic details). Minor action scenes; injuries (not graphic). References to passed loved ones.

Thank you to Kregel and Susan L Tuttle for gifting me a copy of this book.

I have loved this series from the start and am somewhat sad that it is over. However, this is definitely a series I will return to time and time again. All the characters, were relatable in their own ways and each book taught me different things about life and our faith journey. The series as a whole also had a message of generational sin and how we pass more than our belongings to our children, blessings or curses.

This book just like the previous was very well written and I enjoyed the journey that the book took me on. I am fully on team Storke, just like Gertie. The cast of characters felt full and I love the way they banded together during this story. It was a fun story to read and the conclusion of the series was not disappointing at all! There was humor, mystery, excitement and sweet romance.

Storm is officially my favorite character. What a wonderful, beautiful example of Christlike love, sacrifice and forgiveness. Brooke and Storm’s banter had me laughing, giggling, and sighing all in the same breath! Brooke’s willingness to think about her perceptions and Storm’s patience and faith as he waited was a great example. I truly enjoyed their story!

I definitely recommend this series and book to everyone! There is a little bit of everything for everyone and I really don’t think you will be disappointed at all!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I really enjoy Christian Suspense with Romance books The Hidden Key of Brooke Sumner by Susan L. Tuttle is Book 3 in the The Treasures of Halstead Manor series. I have read the first 2 books in this series and I have been anxiously awaiting the release of this book!

WOW, this book was totally "worth the wait". The 2 main characters in this book are Brooke Sumner and Storm Whitlock. The book also includes the characters from previous books as they are all part of the Treasure Hunting Team. Storm Whitlock is someone who Brooke has avoided for many years, due to a trust issue between the pair. Brooke was shocked to discover that Storm had joined Caspar's team for Treasure Hunting. She decides to keep to her own stuff at her Antique Shop, as a means of further avoiding Storm. The Treasure Hunting Team is OK with that for a time, but then she is asked to join the team in one final hunt to find the second half of a Mysterious Key. I really LOVE Brooke's change of demeanor toward Storm once she rejoins the team. She realizes she is part of a team and begins to show grace to Storm. The pair begin to quickly grow closer to another as they travel to many countries and spots looking for the Mysterious Key. Brooke took a leap and let down the wall that was guarding her heart and she realizes that maybe Storm never did something to lose Brooke's trust. The storyline really kept me intrigued and interested. I am sad this is the last book in this series, as it was a Unique and awesome series! The book is one of Mystery, Friendships, Romance and Faith! I HIGHLY recommend this book for anyone who likes Christian Mystery Romance,. WONDERFUL BOOK!

To read a trilogy as each book releases is comforting for me. I felt like I was visiting old friends as I read The Hidden Key of Brooke Summer.

Interpersonal tensions and a mystery begin this story, and I was invested from the start! There was a goal to pursue, so tensions were set aside to head out on an adventure.

The historical mystery of the story is fascinating! I was googling a few things and was surprised how much of the story is factual, not the author's creation. I learned quite a bit.

There were a couple of plot twists that gave me goosebumps! The suspense has increased with each book. I was more worried about the characters this time and my adrenaline was pumping. Faith is an important part of this story, and the peace they've gained from their faith shines through as the characters deal with calamity.

There's a beautiful friends-to-more romance burgeoning throughout the story. Swoon.

The ending was amazing! Jam-packed with a surprise, more goosebumps, and explanations. Then a wonderful epilogue -5 years later- wrapped things up nicely.

The Hidden Key of Brook Sumner is the third and final book in the Treasures of Halstead Manor series. I didn't realize that I had not yet read book two before reading this one and while I HAD read book one, it's been a few years, so my memories of that book were hazy, at best. As such, there were a few moments where I found myself feeling like I'd missed something... not necessarily anything important to this particular story... just that I didn't know these characters quite as well as I could. I definitely think this was due to not having read/remembered well the previous books, so I do recommend reading/rereading those prior to this one. All that said though, I still very much found myself enjoying this one all on its own. The mystery kept me intrigued right through to the end, and I loved the friends-to-more romance between Storm and Brooke, of course. But I have to say it was that journey of faith that really stuck out to me in this story. If you're looking for a good blend of romance with mystery and faith, this is definitely one worth checking out. (But DO read those first two books first too!)

What a grand finale to a favorite series!!! I would never have guessed such an ending; I loved it and the book as a whole.

Brooke’s character and faith arcs in this story are inspiring. Storm’s love for her is endearing and faithful (and swoony ❤️‍🔥), peeling away Brooke’s many layers and helping her discover in Whom she would find peace and unconditional love.

The mysteries in the Treasures of Halstead Manor series are intriguing and suspenseful, and in this book, the mystery and unfolding surprises had my heart rate at a gallop! It was a joy to revisit and get to better know the main characters from books 1 and 2. 🥰 In addition, I loved the travel to European locations again!

All the 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 for The Hidden Key of Brooke Sumner and the entire Treasures of Halstead Manor series.

I was grateful to receive a copy of this book from the publisher. This review is my honest opinion.

The Hidden Key of Brooke Sumner is an amazing story, and fabulous ending to a captivating series! International adventure, priceless art, books, danger, mystery, friendship, found family, humor, truth, and romance. And I LOVED the banter through songs, one of the first songs Brooke sends Storm is "Beat It" by Michael Jackson.

Brooke Sumner and Storm Whitlock grew up in foster care system together. So many heartbreaks of not being adopted. They've had each others backs....until last year. Brooke prides herself on honesty, and is devasted Storm chooses to work for art dealers who work deal in both legitimate and illegal ventures over working with her. She no longer trusts him, and suddenly he is thrown into the mix in her latest case.

I loved being back at Halstead Manor and watching the latest mystery unfold for Brooke, Natalie, Everleigh. With help from Gertie (Burt), Mason, Niles, and Storm.

"Wrong perceptions can lead to misguided actions." How true!
"Dependable. Funny. Kind. Protective. Faithful. What was she supposed to do with that?"

Fabulous ending to this trilogy. I highly recommend reading the Treasures of Halstead Manor in order.

Thank you so much to the author for allowing me to read an early copy. I loved every minute of it. All opinions are my own.

This book is amazing in its own right, but how it concluded the series was beyond beautiful. It had something for everyone: romance, adventure, mystery, friendship, danger, puzzles, travel, and faith. Everything balanced so well and I absolutely loved it!!! To steal a phrase from my youngest, “double mega good!”.

Brooke has distanced herself from her team and she only comes back to protect them from Storm. She no longer trusts him, but he is key to their next search. Can they work together again?

Highlights:
Sharing music 🎶
The Trevi fountain 🥰
The ending (still thinking about it…)

I love Brooke for her sense of morals. I love her independence and love of history.

I love Storm for being protective and patient.

“He’d had the privilege of holding many a priceless treasure in his lifetime, but none compared to Brooke.”

This was an ARC, all thoughts are my own.

The Hidden Key Of Brooke Sumner By Susan L. Tuttle

As I See It . . .

* Friends To More
* Betrayal
* Forced Proximity
* Banter/Angst
* Abandonment Issues
* Adventure/Mystery
* Healing
* Twists/Turns/Surprises
* Faith Elements & Insights
* Bonus Soundtrack!
* Oh! My!

This Is The Last & Final Book In The Treasures Of Halstead Manor Trilogy. I Had Been Anxiously Awaiting The Conclusion To This Series & I Can Honestly Say That Susan L. Tuttle Did Not Disappoint! The Ending Was Perfection ~ Chef’s Kiss. Yet I’m Sad It’s Over. I Will Miss Each & Every Character! Susan ~ How About A Christmas Reunion?!?

I Did Receive A Free Copy From Kregel Publications (Thank You So Much), However, My Review Is Totally My Own Opinion & No One Twisted My Arm To Give It! Thankful For The Opportunity To Encourage Others To Read A Well Written Work Of Art! Susan Is Truly A Gifted Storyteller!

This series has been so much fun. It's like stepping back in time in some ways with the shout out to Charlie's Angels (the OG... not the remakes). I've loved the characters and was looking forward to Brooke and Storm from the beginning. Their story is *chef's kiss*. Cue the happy sighs. I love that Susan isn't afraid to dig into some deeper themes. And yet it never makes her books feel heavy. She takes real heart issues and brings her characters through to healing. It's quite beautiful. And the travel! Oh my word... I would love nothing more than to take a tour of all of the locations mentioned in this series. Who wants to go? And then I was left gobsmacked by the ending... whoa. So well done! Cue all the applause!

This book is exceptionally well written, offering a level of character depth that makes each person on the page feel fully realized and worth following. While the story itself isn’t driven by intense, high-stakes drama, it has a quiet momentum that keeps you turning the pages. The author’s ability to craft a narrative that is steady yet compelling speaks to real skill. You stay engaged because you genuinely want to see what happens next. It’s a thoughtful, satisfying read that lingers long after you’ve finished.

This was a fantastic ending for the series. I really loved how the characters from the three books each had their own story but were connected throughout the series. The finale was perfect!
