I love Joelle so much as her books just suck me right into whatever world she creates for her couples. I just wasn’t prepared by how much I was truly going to joy Katia, Dominic and Caleb.
This is probably one of the best biawakening that a man goes through that I’ve read. I just loved how Caleb just couldn’t stay away from Katia even when he tried at first. Katia was supposed to be a birthday gift for Caleb’s husband, Dominic, but obviously, she was more than that. There was a magnetic pull that Caleb felt towards Katia. When Dominic walked in, he certainly was not expecting to see his husband with a woman and it was everything that these three needed and so much more.
Those spicy scenes, though… they were dirty and so hawt and I only wanted more. The fact that this was a novella made me so mad when it was over because wow!
The ending when Katia tried to leave… that whole scene was everything. I was in my feelings because I wasn’t expecting to feel so many emotions in this lovely erotica story of Caleb, Dominic and Katia. They were just so beautiful together.

Our Downfall is a down-and-dirty, straight-to-the-point, no-nonsense erotica to the MAX. Short, absolutely not sweet, and the smut is 100% SMUTTING.
I love a good novella and fully understand that the mission is quick and to the point — but this one showed up, kicked the door down, and said “plot who?” While gifting a beautiful woman to his husband for his birthday, Caleb brings home his new coworker, the bombshell Katia. And then… we’re off. Immediately. Shoes barely off, names barely exchanged.
Caleb and Katia get started without Dom, and poor Dom doesn’t even get a proper introduction before everyone is… everywhere. Sir barely had time to say hello before it was go-time.
That’s honestly my only gripe. Things moved a little fast — like espresso-shot fast — and I would’ve loved just a hint more buildup before the chaos began.
But let’s be clear:

I received this ARC for my honest opinion. Our Downfall by Joelle Lynne was a fabulous and fun read. It could not for the life of me put it down until it was done. I was sucked in immediately within the first page or two of the story. It was intense, thrilling, passionate and messy like the human experience is.
Caleb, Dominic, and Katia draw you in with their magnetism that the three of them have. What starts as a gift turns into something more, something deeper, something intimate, something messy, and something permanent. I loved how the dynamic changed and evolved from attraction, to heat, to passion to genuine emotions and feelings for each other. That makes their story sensual, captivating and realistic on the human experience.
I highly recommend reading especially if you love high intensity, high chemistry, high heat and a book you will not be able to put down. It is most worth it!

If you're looking for a hot heavy spice filled novella then you've found it!
This book starts with a bang.. and I mean that in so many ways, you start it and with in tbr first few pages they are strapped siren and together. Happy birthday to him huh?
But other that that little premature jump into bed this book has it all, shiver love, boyfriend had a bodied, obession.. Heat, definitely a 10 out of 5 for spice!!!

December 22, 2025I’ve read a few books by Joelle and have enjoyed them. The others were full length so had a lot more depth to the characters and the plot. This is just a spicy novella so if that’s what you’re looking for, then this one is for you!
