I just fall more and more in love with community psychology. Great articles by Seymour Sarason ("Social problem solving in social action"), Julian Rappaport ("In praise of paradox: A social policy of empowerment over prevention") and Edward Seidman ("Justice, values and social science"). All the greats of community psychology. And an interesting article by Tracey Revenson, "Debunking the myth of loneliness in late life".
Sarason writes about his effort to create a barter economy of relationships in recognition of the fact that resources are always limited and that people want to belong to something bigger than themselves... hmm... sounds a lot like what we've been trying to do at Participle over the last year with Southwark Circle, 20 years later!
Some interesting parallels between Sarason's work and Edward Cahn's co-production imperative.
